**the Official Project Runway Thread -TONIGHT!!!!***

Ok for those who are also watching models of the runway. What did you think about the 4 models who would not mingle? And then they made comments about how mingling was dumb. Don't you go to an industry event to make contacts?

They forgot they are on camera. That is etched forever. When you drink the poison it starts to show in real life.

Even though last season was bad I really miss the models last season. I really liked some of them. I loved their personality of going with the flow and enjoying the time they spent there.

I think that your demeanor shows as a model on the runway.

So while they sat there and showed how cool they were, it also showed how insecure they were. I will be curious to see how it spills over.

I would think that being a snob at an industry party would probably not be wise. I guess they think they are too good to mingle? :confused3

I was surprised with the fact that Ping made it through. i just think that her garment was unforgivable. But, last year, they got rid of the kooky contestants in the first two weeks and the show was boring. Of course, part of that has to do with the personalities cast. And I think that there are some stronger personalities this year. I can't see Ping or Jesus making it through to the end though.

I feel like there are several designers that have gotten no screen time yet.

And I'm curious to see how next week plays out with Captain Jack (Jesse) being paired with Ping. I pity anyone who gets paired with her. But still...

If you saw the model she put on black tights to hide her butt.

Not going to argue that Ping is out there and a totally odd.:lmao:
This week's issue of Entertainment Weekly, in reference to next week's show, says something to the effect of, "Stranger: Elisa from Season 4, or Ping. Discuss". :rotfl2:

comment about Mila's look. (Although, maybe she meant the runway look, and I misinterpreted her.) I don't have DVR, so I can't go back and replay things.
Don't worry! If you can't catch it before Thursday, it should be repeated at 9 PM!

Hmmm ... I guess I was the only one who liked Pamela's dress and I didn't think it made the model look all that big :confused3. I thought that Ping was going home for sure.

The challenge was she was going to an "industry event" and that is why she lost as well as the dress not being well made. If they were going to a rodeo, she might have stood a chance.

So making butt look big = not well made but mis-measuring and not sticthing things so that the butt can be seen = better made than that? Come on, tell us you really don't believe that.
Ping's dress was hideous for an industry party, I'm guessing Heid wouldn't be caught dead at party dressed in it, and contestants have gone home for far less offenses (like this past week). I just don't get the judges, I understand wanting to keep people on for good TV, but Ping doesn't even do that for them. I don't want to see what she makes next week, or the week after :scared1:

Exactly. Pamela dyed the dress by hand into a pretty color and it was actually well made, albeit a bit tight. Maybe it wasn't exactly what the judges asked for, but it was a better try than Ping's butt-show and Jesus's using the sack as a lining.

I just can't imagine sending a woman to a (fashion) industry party in Ping's dress. Even Ping herself said she thought they were talking about a potato indusrty party (or something to that effect).
I really enjoy the show and what I love to see is designers who can design and have almost equal skill. It makes the competition more exciting. When they have designers like Ping are allowed to stay it just makes it like one big joke.

Ping is going home so there is no danger there. The designers want to give her one more shot at it. You are losing sight that this makes for great TV.

The girl that went home did not stand a chance amongst the other designers.

I guess its a good thing I don't produce Tv shows then  I agree, Pamela did not stand a chance against the other designers, but she certainly did against Ping. I know what you are saying, I think that after the first episode that the judges thought Ping was different and worth staying so they could see what else she would bring to the table, but after seeing that dress they should have said later tater :rotfl:

Excuse me? "It's very difficult to work with Jesse"??????????????? WHAT in the world is Ping thinking????

I felt bad for Jesse having to work w/ Ping. I think Ping is very sweet, but her designs are way out there. I was glad they didn't boot Jesse, too. It was Ping's time to go.

Thank goodness she is gone.

I'm not really a fan of the winning design, but I loved Emilio and Anna's look for less dress :lovestruc

As expected Ping is now gone. She would to have won the challenge in order to stay which no way was that going to happen.

Have not watched "Models" yet. Interested to find out the consequences of throwing your designer under the bus. You smile and shut up.:lmao:

The model didn't throw her designer under the bus. She is Jesse's model, so she was defending him. It worked out for her, for now. I don't think Jesse is very long for this show, though.

As usual, I don't get the winning design. I always just figure that there must be things about the clothes that don't come through my TV. I wasn't too impressed by that black and white jacket. And I thought the white stripes on the pants were just stupid. Who wants to wear glammed-up track pants for an evening out?

I felt bad for Ping, but she really needed to go. She was floundering in a sea of confusion.

Do you think Heidi's dress for the model elimination is by Uli? It looks very similar to a dress from Uli's BP collection.

Ping's design style did not really allow for partnership (even if she made decent clothes). She doesn't sketch really, she drapes until she finds what she wants. How does a partner stand around until she drapes into her inspiration. It didn't appear to me that he was being mean, he just kept asking her questions about what she wanted and was she sure. That made her indecisive and nervous. Their styles were too different to work.

I watched the repeats last night, so I have a few more observations:

During the model fittings, Jonathan said that he was responsible for both of the fittings, too. So Mila didn't do the fitting of either model. Not a big deal. And I wouldn't be surprised if on the other teams, one designer did one fitting and the other designer did the other fitting. So why is it so horrible that Ping didn't do the fitting on Megan? And why is it not Jesse's fault that Megan's dress is not fitted properly? I'm not suggesting that Ping shouldn't have been auf'ed, I just don't understand why they made such a big deal about it. :confused3

Last week, Tim told Jay that he wouldn't have immunity this week. Then Maya, Jay, and Heidi all made comments about his immunity. Tim commented about this in "Tim's Take" on the Lifetime website, too. He doesn't know what happened. I think it would be better for nobody to have immunity during the team challenges. It's very difficult to tell if Jay really did slack off, or not. You can't blame a guy for taking a break to eat a snack and chat with another designer for a while.

Sarah actually does have quite broad hips, doesn't she? I didn't realize it was her when I saw the back of Anthony and Seth's 'Look for Less' on the runway, and thought "now that's a big butt." Then she turned and I thought "Ohhhh.... no wonder Pamela's dress made her look like she has a big butt. She does." I don't mean that she's fat or anything. She's just proportionately smaller across the rib cage and wider across the hips. Pamela should have seen that and realized that a one piece dress would only accentuate that.

I wonder why they didn't give Maya the win. They liked both of their looks, and they didn't like Mila's second look. Are they afraid to give the win to someone other than a team leader? It really didn't seem like Jay deserved the win for their team, but I think Maya did. Or did Mila win because Heidi would totally wear that outfit? We've all seen some of the things Heidi wears. I don't think that should be a deciding factor.

Poor Ping. Not that she didn't deserve/need to go, but I just felt bad for her. She seemed sweet and like she was trying very very hard, but ultimately she was just out of her depth. I can totally appreciate her saying on the way out that it was all about the experience for her. She seems genuine.

I also thought the winning outfit was a hot mess. A track suit with a freakin cape.

Are battenberg lace collars coming back into fashion? The outfit Maya was wearing at the beginning was very similar to the dress I wore in my engagement picture in 1993. I thought that look was completely dead by 1995.

The difference in our dresses lied in the fact that mine wasn't stained like Maya's was.

Buh-bye, Ping... glad ta see ya go.
