I am trying to plan a trip for next year and have always stayed at a moderate
but we would love to try Poly. I will have 2 eighteen year olds and one thirteen year old plus dh and me. Do you think we can fit in one room? I can't imagine gettting 2 rooms Thanks for any help

You can fit 5 in a room but you might be a bit squished with some many adult aged people. The room is a nice size for 2 adults and 2 small children. It would be challenging having only 1 bathroom. It would be rather expensive to get 2 rooms though. You will love the Poly.

You'll have plenty of room IMO. We have three children and they grew up vacationing at the Polynesian. There was still plenty of room for all of us as they hit teens and young adult.

The daybed is comfortable and large enough for an adult.

Bathrooms can work fine. Typically, three of us shower in the evening and two in the am. We never had problems with one bathroom.

You might consider request one of the newer longhouses. You do get quite a bit of extra floor space in those. And bathrooms in Rapa Nui and Tahiti have two sinks if that would matter for your family.

I agree - the daybeds in the deluxe's are definately ok for adults.. i have spent weeks on them myself! LOL I actually found it rather comfy! :)

Also -- had to share, my MIL stopped me at my DD's bustop today - and told me she changed us from Garden view concierge to Lagoon view Concierge in the Hawaii building! Whoo hooooo!

Question -- Do they serve the "Tonga Toast" at all in the Poly Concierge?

Ok, thanks! I guess i will be making an ADR at Kona Cafe for Breakfast then! LOL

That's what we do!

Congratulations....you are going to love lagoon view in Hawaii.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

You can also get it at Capt. Cooks now.

Oh!! Great -- didn't know that - thanks!! :thumbsup2

Also reguarding the hot tubs - the CM on the phone told us that there are jets in the main pool that certian spots are very warm.. to ease the pain of no hot tub.. how are they? I found it strange that a deluxe had no hot tub.. But, on the same note, i can definately live w/o one! LOL

Can you really use the hot tub at the GF? Is it separate or by the pool? Could you be mistaken for a "pool hopper" (one of my deep seated fears is that someone would think I wasn't following the rules. I tend to like to follow the rules!)

I take it there is no place to workout at the Poly, I haven't seen anything about it. Can someone tell me if we are allowed to use GF's fitness center, and if so, how far is it from the Hawaii building? TIA

I have read since there is no fitness center at the Polynesian, guests wanting to work out can go to the Grand Floridian fitness center for free.

As for how it is from the Hawaii building I don't know, so hopefully someone else can answer that for you.

It's not far at all. Perhaps 8-10 minutes from Hawaii.:confused3

And as CRFan said, both GF and Polynesian guests may use the fitness center with no charge.

Just wanted drop in and add. You can have your Tonga Toast delivered to your room. The breakfast we ordered in 2006 was FANTASTIC and HOT. Room service is a special treat, makes be feel so pampered.

Really?! You just order it thru reg. room service? I am trying to decide what to do, after hearing all about this toast here on the DIS, i am ready to book breakfast at Kona's.. But, breakfast in bed sounds better! LOL :lmao:

Can we buy a bag of Kona coffee in the gift shop??? Would love to be able to make some yummy kona coffee in our room! :thumbsup2
