Cool! We will have to meet up! We will be at the Poly 9/29-10/08. We have a GV room booked and requested our usual, Samoa 3rd floor. We don't go to Vegas till 11/14 and staying for 5 days. Where are staying in Vegas? We have the Bellagio booked. First time in Vegas and can't wait!

That would be great :goodvibes I would love to meet up. We are staying at the Venetian. LV is one of our favorite cities. I'm sure you're going to love the Bellagio, they have lots of wonderful art, in fact, I think that entire hotel is like an art museum. If you booked a room facing the fountains, that will be a real joy because the show is awesome.

DaisyD and Disneybride we're checking in the 30th too. I requested Samoa 3rd floor too. Hope we all see each other!

Subscribing. Going to Poly May 28 for 10 nights. 249 days and counting (memo to self: Must get ticker).

First trip...ever. Been waiting ever since that Sunday night in '71. Those of you old enough know what I am talking about. Currently have Room Only Garden View Concierge booked w/AAA discount through Disney. Hoping to justify an AP with AP discounts. Still deciding about going with a package and DDP.

Thanks to all for the advice. Special thanks to Tikiman.

We are arriving by car & do not think our room will be ready when we arrive. DD suggested getting something to eat from CCs & relaxing & eating it on the beach. We live near the beach & this is natural for them. Of course I would cart our trash along with us when we leave! Has anyone ever done this before?

What time are you arriving?? We arrived at noon on 8/31 and our room was ready!! :thumbsup2

Does anyone know how the views are from CL rooms on the first floor? :confused3

Also what floor is the Conceirge Lounge on? Can you see EWP from there?????

It will take us about 17/18 hours to get there, & I don't want to do it all in one trip. So we plan to do the majority of the driving the first day & hopefully get to GA, so then we can drive 4-5 hours the next morning. They say check in isn't until 4pm, and we will be there before that!

I arrived on 9/2 at 1:30pm and our room was not ready, we had to wait until after 3pm and call the special number they give you after registering. It was fine with me though because I got the room I want and I was very happy about that.

It will be grandma's birthday when we are at the poly. Any ideas to make it special? Grandma, daughter and grandaughter trip. pirate: :cheer2: :hippie: :stitch: :dumbo: :dogdance: :cat:

I am ordering her a surprise "cake" from the disney florist & I've arranged for a Cinderella Slipper dessert & a cake for her when we dine on her b-day at Ohana. We also plan to pick pearls in Japan during our trip and will have the ones the kids pick & her put into a setting while there.

We've scheduled that as our down day & plan to spend the entire day at the resort. :cloud9:

GV or LV. GV you have the foliage and the quiet pool. Patio door for entry and exit to Volcano pool to the right or quiet more or less straight ahead. LV depends on location but generally the beach, the lagoon and MK.

Lounge is floors 2 & 3 on the end closest to the Volcano pool. You can see EWP and fireworks from there.

The views from the first floor of Hawaii are wonderful in our opinion. We've loved each one we've had. The GV rooms face the quiet pool but you see the gardens rather than the pool itself. The lagoon view rooms are just fantastic. Sadly we were supposed to be there this weekend but were moved to the GF. :sad2: I enjoy the GF too but we were so looking forward to our LV stay in Hawaii.

The lounge is on the 2nd floor and you can see the Electrical Water Pageant from every lagoon view room as well as the lounge.

Why are there no balconies on the 2nd floors????? :confused3

There are balconies on the 2nd floors of Tokelau, Tahiti and Rapa Nui. I believe I've read that the original buildings don't have balconies on the 2nd floor to create a more authentic look.

I was just wondering why they moved you to the GF????

From my experiences with reservations they prolly accidentally oversold the resort and had to move people to other ones to accomodate.

They can do that? Just move you and tell you in advance? I don't think i'd handle that very well.
