No Poly playground sorry to say, although DS when 3 spent at least an hour building sand castles on the Poly beach. I believe you're right that there is one at CR. I think there may also be one at GF.

Be sure to take advantage of the ones at the various parks. Our kids loved the Bone Yard area at AK, which include a shaded "sandbox" area, with non-stick sand. :goodvibes

Too bad, but will definitely look into GF playground and AK...thanks for the ideas!! :thanks: Sand castles sound like fun! :)

:wave2: Hello and thanks all for the link. I suppose to clarify my question, I am curious if anyone happens to know when the following is usually held?

Daily Activities held at the volcano pool, GCH and Moana Mickey' Fun Hut (check for days and time when you arrive). It includes:

Arts and Crafts

Learning how to make a Kukui nut necklace and the story behind it

Decorating with Hawaiian stamps

Learn Lau printing

Learn how to Lauhala weave

Make your own candy lei

Treasure Hunt

Pool Games (water basketball and polo)

Visor decorating

Arcade Challange

Disney movie in the Neverland Club

:thanks:

Did they remove the playground? They had a small playground with slides and swings as I remember. :confused3

When you check in they will give you a schedule of all the kids activities. It does change so stating it here won't help much.

Yep, it was removed.

We are doing the Land & Sea and are staying a grand total of 5 nights at the Poly for our honeymoon. He booked yesterday and I'm curious if we can request certain areas this far in advance or if we have to wait. Also do we do it thru Disney Cruise Line?? This is going to be our first time at the Poly and I'm so excited that I can barely wait. Any suuggestions on the BEST spots to stay especially for first timers and honeymooners????

Thanks! :cloud9:

Hey CindyBride12 - when will you be there on your honeymoon?

We'll be staying in the "honeymoon" room on our 21st anniversary this November -- I'll let you know what it was like. It is concierge which I normally couldn't afford but this is a quick trip.

Otherwise, it depends on the view and what you might like (or cost) as to where to suggest. Have you looked at the Tikiman site?

Although I can't tell you what other resorts are like, DH and I loved the Poly for romantic walks. :thumbsup2

We are going from September 8th until September 22nd 2007. We are doing a Land & Sea package the first part of the trip so that is the ONLY reason we can even afford it right now. We will be at the Poly from the 8th-13th. Our cruise is the 13th-16th and back to WDW for the PoP Century thru the 22nd. I don't know if they let you choose where to have your room for the Cruise line or not but hopefully we can at least have the 3rd floor. I'm so excited!!!! Thanks! :dance3:

yes, the rooms had ceiling fans!

Thank you Catrin. I just couldn't remember. We have a BIG family trip planned and I think the ceiling fan will be a must for one of our family members.

I was wondering if anyone noticed that in the bathrooms if you step on a certain tile than the fan turns on? It was kinda freaking me out because all of a sudden the fan would turn on. It's in the new bathrooms in the hotel rooms (not lobby).

If anyone has seen this, how do you turn the fans off?

It sounds like you will have a wonderful time on your Honeymoon, CinderellaBride12!!!! :Pinkbounc

You'll have lots of time to decide what room would be nice at the Poly . I think most all will be nice but we did stay third floor Figi (Garden View) overlooking the marina on our very first trip to WDW. The only request I made was for a balcony and we were so excited by the room we got!

You have a WHOLE year to be excited!!!! (And plan a wedding ... :sunny: ) -- I vaguely remember planning the wedding (it HAS been 21 years now!!!).

I noticed that as well. Not sure if turning them off is an option...perhaps just step around that tile, although I am not sure exactly what tile it is..LOL!!

Hi Ms. Pixie, just wanted to let you know that the fans in the bathrooms of the Poly have "motion sensors" in them, it has nothing to do with the tiles on the floor. I know because this May the motion sensor in our bathroom fan at the Poly had to be replaced. JC

Does anyone know if they sell bottles of beer at the temporary Captain Cook's? :drinking1 Thanks.

Yes, they sold beer there.

They also sold beer in the snack shop at the Great Ceremonial House.

We just got back and the only activities they had were Lei making, pool games, towel animal making and Hule lessons. I know the person who does some of the activities was on vacation though. Also we never used neverland club so I'm not sure what they have there. My dd enjoyed the kids lounge and the coloring and Lei making alot. They will give a brochure that has the times in it.

Wanted to say We had a great stay at the Poly. We have a new favorite resort and plan to stay there next year. We got a great room exactly what we requested Samoa 3rd floor. Tikimans site helped us decide on the poly instead of WL. We loved all the pics. Also DaisyD thanks for the room location advice. It is a great garden view. Another great garden view would be Fiji or Tokelau facing quiet pool. We will request Samoa next trip and hope for the best. It was a great vacation! So glad I didn't decide to switch after the negative reviews and go to GF. would love to stay in Hawaii concierge but that might not be in the budget next year. Thanks for the advice fellow poly lovers.
