 Thinking of the Poly for our 07 trip!

Can anyone please give me insight on the best building for a castle view?
And, have all of the rooms been updated? I thhought I read somewhere that the Poly went through a refurb recently.

Many Thanks! :goodvibes

I can't resist.

Did I mention we are chcking in two days from now? It's good to hear that people are swimming and enjoying the tropical breezes.

Can't wait until my only pressure decision is wether to get one of the Lava drinks or a Pineapple Thing-a-ma-bob.

See ya later,

Maz :joker:

Add me to the list of "I can't wait". I showed my son pictures of the pool area and he got so excited. It's kinda fun torturing the kids!

:Pinkbounc We're waiting to go to the Poly for the 1st time !!!! Only 103 days to go :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Quick question.....We paid for GV since it is peak season. I read on Tikiman's website that you can see the top of the castle from building Tokelau on the side of the quiet pool . Anyone know about this ???

O.k. I am getting nervous now I just tried to book a room at the POLY for my parents the same time that we are going Jan 28th- Feb. 3rd and they are SOLD OUT  !!! WHAT IS GOING ON?? I was hoping it would be empty :rolleyes1

WOW  That is crazy. I wonder if there are any large conventions that are spilling over from the CR or the GF? Anyone know?????? Is something going on at one of the parks that brings in a large following? :confused3

That is why I drive myself (and my DH) nutso researching all my options in case we get bumped in April for our first stay at the Poly. I like to be well informed so that I can make informed decisions on the fly if plan A turns into plan B :teeth: I know it is highly unlikely but I have been on these boards long enough to surmise that it could happen to me b/c it has happened to others in the past.

Maybe they are holding out rooms since the North Wing of the Contemporary is not available.......maybe they are blocking out a set # of rooms for the convention guests? Just a thought. Hopefully the Parks will not be packed, but I would love to know if anything is going on. We arrive on the 28th - 3rd as well. Since it is my 40th B-day on that Tuesday I am hoping for light crowds.........it would just make it that much nicer. However, where else would anyone want to turn 40. HELLO! Hoping for a Boat Load of Fun!

:cake: Happy Birthday!! Disney sounds like the perfect place to have a rip-roaring-fun 40th Bday celebration. Is it an "adult" trip or are kids coming along? That would definitely determine the variety of party options available :teeth:

I see you live in The Woodlands. My good friend now ex-neighbor just moved down there in August. Quite HOT from what I've been told just until recently.

Have a great trip

steffali & Grace&Carolinesmom,
Thank You! I just couldn't think of anything else better than to get away. We will have 2 rooms as my Parents are coming with us to watch the kiddo's a few nights. So, YES! I will be able to Party a little. Why not in the BEST place.

Grace&Carolinesmom,
I bet your friend had quite a shock from the weather there to here. It's NUTS. You can have your A/C on one minute and 30 minutes later need the heat. Prime example was Friday when a front came in about 8:00 in the Morning. We had just put dd on the bus and knew the front was coming so hung around outside. In a matter of 30 minutes it went from 73º to 41º according to our outside thermometer. CRAZY. It went from Humid to Dry in just 2 hours. I'm originally from New Jersey, but have been here for 20 years. It's to say the least interesting. They are not joking when they say "If you don't like the weather ........wait a day". VERY TRUE! If they are in the Woodlands or Woodlands Area, it's a pretty neat place. Very centrally located to a lot of stuff.

Anywho. Many Thanks you guys. I can't wait.

If my parents get a garden view room at the POLY can they come over to our room in the Hawaii Bldg.??????

When we where there a few years ago, there was a couple that did that. They just asked that they not go to the lounge. I did however hear one of them tell the parents one day to help themselves, so I don't know how to exactly answer that. I believe these people had the same problem, but they seemed quite happy with things when they where there visiting. Maybe Tikiman can shed some "Official Word" on this.

I have a Garden View room reserved in Mid Feb. Any idea if there is a way to ensure a renovated room?

THanks, I was just wondering in case they want to come over for the Lagoon View at night or sit with my Daughter. I want them to be close to us we can use all the help we can get with my DD. They are trying to book a room in Hawaii Bldg. but like I said for some reason it is sold out. :confused3

We stayed on the 3rd floor of Tokelau (CV) in back of the quiet pool and saw the entire castle from the end of the building on the balcony. I guess you could say it was a "partial lagoon view" because you could see a good part of the beach/lagoon from our room. You could also see most of the fireworks from our room, but you had to bend over a bit. To tell the truth, the castle may have been visible but I never thought to look since when we were home (not often) we headed straight for the blacony. Great room!
