Hi fellow October Disney World peeps! I have been planning this trip for a year now and it is right around the corner. My husband I went to WDW when we were dating back in 1996 for 4 days and did not plan it one bit but remember it as a whirlwind of fun. Now, we are taking our kids, 8 DS and 5 DD. Since we are traveling so far (Hawaii) and don’t plan on coming back anytime soon, we are planning a trip of a lifetime. We will spend this first 7 days at Portofino Bay visiting Aquatica, Legoland (for my son’s 8th bday), Disney Springs: T-Rex, Universal, IOA (with a Halloween Horror nights RIP tour) Sea World, and Discovery Cove with a dolphin swim, phew! and that is just the beginning! Then we are headed to the House of Mouse for 13 days. Here is what we have planned for WDW so far. Subject to change for the millionth time.
October 16, Sunday: MK 9-4ish
Check into 2 bedroom, Magic Kingdom view at Bay Lake Tower
*7am Chef Mickey (alternate 5:40 pm Chef Mickey)
*Opening Show
*Festival of Fantasy Parade

I couldn’t get a 7DMT FP B4 4PM, so it really blew my touring plan out of the water. Trying not to stress as we have a lot of time at MK.

I don't see anything that hasn't been on the Disney calendar for a while. Looks like they finally updated the TA calendar to match the Disney calendar.

I just want to reiterate how completely assanine I think it is that Disney makes us plan things soooo far in advance and yet they don't have things figured out and continue to make last minute changes to schedules. Between the park hours, so many closed attractions, refurbs... This has been by far the most stressful vacation planning experience I've ever had.

I thought the 8AM opens and 11PM closes for MK were fairly new updates since I got an email about it from WDWPrepSchool last night.

The 8am open for the first week was posted to the official site last week; I had an 8:00 ADR I decided against because of it and posted on the cancelled thread. The date on that TA calendar shows 8-12 as well.

Well, sadly the other job didn't work out so does look like I have to lose a day and a half off my vacation. Sadly we can't move days at all as we are limited to the kids' fall break and DH's big work meeting the week before we leave. I'll just keep my fingers crossed I win the lottery before then.

Sorry to hear about the news Pesky. You and your family will have a great time at the parks perhaps when you get back covered in pixie dust you'll find an even better company. °O°

So exciting!!! ill be down the same time with my husband! of course that week we only have dinners planned, our first week is planned out and we are winging it the second week, doing things we couldn't do the first and just enjoying ourselves.. Try to work around the MNNSHP nights if you want a long day at MK. also check the solo trip forum if you want to try to meet up with anyone

Sounds like fun! We'll overlap with you a few days, but we're at ASSports. And we'll have 24 people--a solo trip sounds very appealing!

I would use easywdw to pick days, and you can also use his cheat sheets for suggested times to get your fastpasses.

I get to join this group!!!!L Whoohoo! My husband surprised me with a trip a few days ago. It's a short one but it's our first time away form our kids and our first real trip since our honeymoon in 2005!!!!!! It's also for my 40th birthday.
