And the Mets are winning 7-3, Lastings Milledge just drove in 2. David Wright is 4-4.
ETA: the pitcher, Jorge Sosa, just doubled in a run, Mets 8-3.

Thankfully that NL Central is such a complete joke that we have a battle between the Cubs and Brewers... Oh and did anyone else notice Arizona is leading the NL West?

With the rivalry of the Cubs and Cards there have always been sayings about the Cubs in St. Louis. No offense to any Cubs fans but we have t-shirts here in St. Louis that say:

C = Completely
U = Useless
B = By
S = September

Its all in good fun and everyone has a blast a Cards-Cubs games. I am sure the Cubs have sayings about the Cards. In St. Louis we wait to see what September brings with regards to the Cubs.

DH and I are spending the weekend of the 18th in Chicago and have tickets for that Saturday's game for Cubs v. Cards. Can't wait! It will be a ton of fun!

Mets have a nice series in Milwaukee. Braves lose, so they are in 3rd. I'm watching the Phillies, though. They seem to be hot.

On a brighter note... I just love this time of year, especially when three -count 'em THREE -teams I have an interest in are involved in close pennant races. (Tigers, Cubs, Braves)

Yes, they did. Houston tied it in the 8th, then went up by 2 in the 12th, Braves tied it in the bottom of the 12th, but the Astros went ahead in the
14th & held on to win.

Poor Silva - I think that's the 5th or 6th time this year he's pitched well but gotten the loss because our offense got shut out. 4 runs would be an explosion for us too.

What a race this is going to end up being - just like last year. That makes September baseball so much more fun for us all!

Both these things happen all too often for the Brewers!!!! Ben Sheets (when he's not on the DL...) seems to never get run support, and when the offense is bad, it is REALLY bad!!

What a race this is going to end up being - just like last year. That makes September baseball so much more fun for us all!

It's certainly going to be a heck of a race, both for the Central as well as the Wild Card, with Seattle and New York in the mix obviously as well. The Twins are a scary team -- they have so much good pitching that they should be in most ballgames and that makes them dangerous.

It's nice to be in front (for now), but 1/2 game is way too nervewracking right now.
