DisKim said:Sorry for the double post. Does anyone else have trouble with baby carriers. I have the Nojo baby sling and the Snugli infant carrier. I despise both of them. I haven't spent money on the Bjorn because I figure I'll hate that too. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get the baby comfortable in these things. He freaks out. Besides that, they really don't free up my hands anyway because I'm afraid to do anything because of the fear that he'll fall out (especially the baby sling). Am I stupid or do others have trouble with these things too? It just seems to be the only way I'll ever get anything done in my house. Does anyone have any advice on these things. I'm so frustrated.
I had the same problems (and carrier's) with my 1st DD. She hated them. I took the sunglie back to the store (the sling was a hand me down.) I did use a hip huger kind from right start, but DD always wanted to lean down and look at the floor and that hurt my back holding her up.
This time I bought a slightly used leather baby bjiorn form a friend for only $20!!!! It is GREAT. I got to tell you we have gotten our moneys worth out of it, even if we paid the over the $100 for it (no idea how much it really costs.) Make sure you get the one that has the metal silds to hold the kid in, not the buttons.
We used it all over WDW, infact I wouldn't go to WDW or any place like that with out one. It really is much better then the sungly, and you can get them in our out in just seconds.

I have never been able to get the hand of the sling, but I know some people really like it.
BYW Lily is 16 pounds now (9 months) and the bjiorn works great with her. I think it goes much higher then that. ( I had a friend put her 30 pound son in one and mow the lawn, but I don't recomend that!
