Hello mommies!

Wonderbell - Congrats on your little boy and the positive results from your ultrasound!

Hillbeans - I am glad the Christening went well for you.

SL - Sorry to hear about dh's grandmother. I hope you enjoy your dinner.

llij - Congrats on the weight loss. I am doing WW too, and have lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks. I am on the Points Plan and I love it!! BTW, I love the pic of JP in the Bumbo. But what a day you had!!!

nucpharm - Welcome back...I am glad you had a good trip! I know what you mean about the Villas. We love the Villas at the Boardwalk.

Justhat - Sorry you were all so sick! I hate being sick away from home.

Tykes - I am sooo jealous your trip is so close!

Zalansky - Glad your first week home is going ok. Cabo will be so much fun. I love it there!

Well, I now know what has possessed my normally very happy baby for the last week. Aidan has been waking up in absolute fits after being asleep for hours, refusing to eat his cereal, and being very clingy. Turns out he cut his first tooth, TODAY! He has been a little drool monster for so long I kind of forgot about teething. Finally today I got a smile and there it was. I felt like the biggest dope. What do you all do to relieve the pain of it? I have frozen teething toys, but he seems to be in some pain, mostly at the end of the day. I have the teething tabs, but they don't seem to do much for him. Any thoughts?

thanks so much bellacam and hillbeans. I keep forgetting how many mommies we have on this thread. You are all so sweet.

bellacam - Congrats on Aidan's first tooth! Sorry I have no advice, we're still waiting for our first tooth. I love your new picture.

Hillbeans - Happy birthday to Kevin! I hope the kids have fun bowling.

lissawynn - Sounds like you got some great deals!

Our dinner was an adventure. We waited a 1/2 hour for a table which wasn't too bad. They had told us it would be that long. Once we were seated, we ordered and it took over an hour for us to get our dinners. Lucas and my friend's DS (he's 13 mos) behaved quite well for being stuck in highchairs for so long. My friend's DH, however, is another story. He broke his foot and someone walked by and bumped into it so he was in excrutiating pain for half of this wait. When we finally got our food, the waitress apologized over and over and the manager took 2 meals off the bill. We hadn't even complained. Our friends ended up boxing up their meals and taking them home and DH and I stayed to finish. Gotta love the Olive Garden.

Okay, I'm going to try to post some pics of our trip. It was soooo wonderful. DH and I decided that until kids are in school that January is the absolute best time to go. We went to Epcot one day, and I felt like we were the only ones there. We got into town late in the afternoon on a thursday and headed over to Downtown Disney for dinner. We had a great time--the food was okay. We ate at Cap'n Jacks (service was outstanding, food was so-so). But then we took the kids to Once upon a Toy and DD was in heaven. We could have just gone there and rode the busses and monorail and that would have made her happy  .

The next day we headed to Chef Mickey's for breakfast. We did the same thing last april, and we love to start our vacation with the characters. We then headed off to the Magic Kingdom for the morning. DD was in major sensory overload, so we headed back to SSR early in the afternoon for nap time--which ended up being playground time b/c DD wouldn't sleep. Epcot was our stop for the evening. We had dinner at Le Cellier (highly recommend) and then stayed for Illuminations and EMHs. The next day was animal kingdom which was a big hit for DFIL and DD. DFIL loves birds so he loved the wonder of flight show. Then we had our "fancy" dinner that night at Artist Pointe (also highly recommend). I think DD loved the next day the best. We went to MGM and she got to do Playhouse disney, Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. It's all she could talk about. That afternoon we had our tour of the DVC and ended up making our purchase. We bought the lowest number of points we could (150). but with the friends and family deal, we couldn't pass it up :thumbsup2 . We figured we didn't need any more points than that right now, b/c we wouldn't need more than a studio until the kids get much bigger (loved the 2brm though) We also got the 150pts allotted from 2005, so in essence we get 300 pts. for our first year and only have to pay dues on the 150. Pretty cool :cool1: . We went back to Downtown Disney for dinner and ate at Portofino Yacht Club. Much better food and we got to sit outside by the lake. DD was entertained by the boats going back and forth. The next day was our last and jam packed with stuff. We started out with lunch with the princesses in Norway. DD was in heaven. We dressed her up in her Aurora costume princess: and she looked so cute. We got great pictures. Well, then DH and I did Soarin' and then we headed over to MK for the parade and some more rides. I'm sure I've bored all of you now with my post so, I'll post some pics and get off of here.

I've spent all day doing nothing! Good thing the villa had a washer and dryer, so no laundry to do. Hey, at least I unpacked the camera--important things first. Now it's off to plan our next vacation-remember I said important things first! :mickeyjum

Hi everyone! I got a message from Tasha+Scott. She's been following the thread and hopes to be able to post soon. Here's what's going on with her and Kylie:

1. Kylie now has 5 teeth! Her bottom 2 and 3 up top.
2. She is now pulling herself up (just really started doing that this week) and I find her standing in her crib after she wakes up now!
3. We are having a baby dedication for her at our church on Feb. 12. We hope it will be a beautiful ceremony and we have quite a bit of family and friends that will be there for that. We are planning to take my sisters, who are 10 and 8 years old, out to lunch afterwards. Yesterday we met with the pastor to set up the time and make the arrangements and Kylie gave him a kiss on the cheek! It was so sweet and he melted!
4. She woke up with pink eye this morning so I have been having fun trying to put eye drops in her eyes 4 times a day! And I have to do that for a week! I feel so bad for her! :-(
5. It looks like if all goes according to plan we will be going to WDW for Kylie's 1st b-day afterall...staying at POP! I am very excited about that. We originally were going to stay at WL but we decided it would be better to stay at POP so we would have more money for other things since we don't spend much time at the resort anyway.

nucpharm - I love your pics! The kids are so adorable and I think your DD Emma looks like a mini-nucpharm! I have to say, you are a bad influence on me. Last night I convinced myself we were not going to buy DVC after all....because we started our taxes and so far we owe $3400.00. I am rather upset about this, seeing that we changed both our deductions to 0 - no dependants for 2005. I assumed, rather foolishly, the gov't would do their part and take their share of the money from our paychecks. :rotfl2: Time to get creative, I say. Anyway, my plan was to also get the 150 points....and now that I see your post and you got 300 points I am tempted again. So my question to you is, does everyone who buys now get 300 points if they buy 150? Or was that a deal that you got somehow? Oh, the turmoil!

bellacam - Aiden is such a doll. Congrats on his very first tooth! I am not sure what remedies are best for teething, but I know we used those refrigerated chew toys with Connor. And of course, the occasional Tylenol.

Hillbeans - have fun this weekend with Kevins' party. As for Cameryn, now that I am home and getting her on what resembles a napping schedule....so far the past two nights she has only woken one time during the night as opposed to two or even three times like she was doing. This is tremendous progress for us. She still is not into eating solids, we;ve tried a few times and she still pushes them out. I am hoping one of these days she will start liking them and this will help her sleep longer? I have to say being home is much less stressful and makes it easier to handle her sleeping patterns. Has Liam started solids yet?

Tasha - Glad to see your name! That will be exciting, planning Kylie's bday trip at POP. Good idea to stay there and spend the extra money on fun things. What month will you be there?

SL - you've got me craving Olive Garden. Have you ever tried the alfredo dipping sauce for their breadsticks? :woohoo:

Ok, have a good day everybody. Off I go to start the napping schedule for the day! :lmao: love these new smilies, they are so much fun.

Everyone's pics are so great.
Bellacam Aimee has no teeth yet but with my other children I used to give them a peeled cold carrot. Good Luck.
Hillbeans Thanks I'll try swaddling tonight at the mo she is using a grow bag but when she wakes up it is normally about 3am and doesn't settle until about 4.30.
Nucpharm Your pics are very cute, makes me want to book another trip.

Zalansky/Loretta - We've not started solids yet. Liam goes for his 4 month appt on Wednesday 2/1 and i'll find out then about Solids. He's got to weigh at least 16+ pounds because the boy is huge.

It was so funny this morning, I put him down on the carpet this morning to get him ready to load into his car seat and he just went and rolled right over in one second...I was laughing hysterically - because he did it so fast and he's never done it like that before - and he had a huge smile on his face.
I'm so envious of all of you talking about getting DVC. I'm in huge Disney withdrawl - next March can't come fast enough. I can live vicariously through all of you though with your trip reports. I agree with you Loretta when you told Tamie that part of the fun is the trip planning and the counting down. I also am DYING to go on Expedition Everest so you'll have to tell us about your viewing this coming weekend.

Glad Cameryn is doing better with her naps and night sleep. We're still up at least once, most times twice a night. He falls asleep by 7:45/8 pm every night so I can't possibly keep him awake any later (and that's my time to go to the gym when the kids are in bed).

NucPharm - Love your pictures, thanks for sharing!

I just wanted to post really quickly. My two older kids are both home from school today. I took off with them because both have been vomiting. They seem better now. I kept Aidan home because I didn't want to have to put two sick vomiting kids in the car. I've been attacking every surface of my house with Clorox clean-up today. This is one of those days where I wish I had a smaller house!

nucpharm - I love your pictures!! Where did you see Ariel in her dress?? My DD loves Ariel but has only gotten to meet her in her grotto (with the tail). Of course, by the time we get back to WDW, my DD will probably be 11 or 12 and have outgrown her love of Ariel :guilty:

It's not even 11 and I have a terrible headache. I have been asked so many questions, I couldn't even begin to count them. I'm not trying to be the whining teacher, but some of this stuff is so obvious, it's not even funny.

nupcharm - Wonder WDW pics! Gymboree hat? Jimmy had the same one last summer. I hope you had a great trip!

DisKim - I hope you're kids are feeling better soon! Sanatize away!

zalansky - Good luck with your DVC purchase!

SL - Sorry dinner at OG took so long! Once they forgot about DH's and my order. There was a shift change and our food never got made. We ended up with free dessert and 25% off our bill. Stuff like that always happens when we go out to dinner.

nucpharm - Great pics!!! I agree with zalansky - your DD looks just like you. People will see me with Lucas and say "I can see the resemblance" then DH walks in and it's "oooohhhhhh - he looks just like his father".

zalansky - I've never tried the alfredo dipping sauce. I'll have to give it a try next time. Good luck with your taxes.

DisKim - Hope everyone starts to feel better soon.

Hillbeans - MARCH?!?!? I have to wait until October! It's going to be a looooong summer. Cute story about Liam. He's so proud of himself!

Inside Ball - Good luck with the sleep issues.

lissawynn - Hope your headache gets better.

I have a question for you moms with older babies. Just wondering when you started dinners or meats. Lucas is a fantastic eater and we haven't had any allergy issues. Since our ped quit the practice we've seen a fill-in once and she said to wait until 8 months. We're only a few weeks away and Lucas seems kind of bored with just fruits and veggies and I was thinking of trying something else. Here's what he eats: 1/4 cup cereal + 1 jar stage 2 fruit for breakfast, 1 jar stage 2 veggies + 1 jar stage 2 fruit for lunch, sometimes a snack of about a 1/2 jar of fruit, and 1/4 cup cereal + 1 jar stage 2 veggies for dinner. He can have formula on demand whenever he wants. He usually finishes everything. I was thinking of starting the stage 2 dinners and taking out the evening cereal. What do you think? We're also working on finger foods but he's not too interested in them right now. He LOVES eating from a spoon, though. Opinions, please! :yay:

SL - I think Jimmy was about the same age when we tried the dinners. He really didn't like any of them. He'd usually spit them out. My dad had some success with the turkey and chicken ones, but he just never got into them. He mostly ate fruits and veggies. We also gave him those Gerber puffs, which he really enjoyed. Eight months wasn't that long ago, but I can't remember exactly what we did.

Hi!!!

Oh my gosh- so many people have posted, my head is spinning!

Those asking advice- SL, I totally think Lucas is ready for meats. For all 3 of my kids (who saw all different peds at that age), meats were ok'ed at 6 months. Go for it! My kids always seemed to enjoy the mushed up raviolis or spaghetti with meat sauce the most- of course, it's the messiest!

Sleeping through the night- Molly still doesn't....we are still battling the sleeping in her own crib thing for crying out loud. Even DH is like, "Whoa....she's a fighter!" I'm so bummed about this.... :rolleyes2

Nucpharm- GREAT pics and congrats on DVC ownership! I'm envious.....we are getting a LOT back on our taxes, much more than I thought, and DH is trying to talk me into a DL trip. I know, why should he even have to talk me into it???? Just the timing is tricky right now cause he needs to go back to work next week, and I keep reading how insanely crowded DL is on Saturdays...I wish we could go like a Sun-Weds.

lissawynn- I got that lands end catalog too and thought there were some great deals- good for you for scoring some! And your ADRs look fantastic- the only counter service gems we routinely visit are Pecos Bills, Cosmic Rays, Tusker House and Columbia Harbour House. I have yet to find a counter service in both MGM and Epcot that I rave over. I have tried many in Epcot, and they're ok, but it's their table service that they do better IMHO.

Zalansky- I'm so sorry you owe on your taxes! What a PITA. I'm glad staying at home is going better for you.

Jill- I could scream right there with you about the insurance- it's just wrong. JP sure looks cute in his Bumbo.

Bellacam- Aidan is DARLING.. ::yes::

Diskim- hope your kiddoes feel better really soon! :flower3:

I am struggling with the weight thing- good for you ladies who are sticking with WW! I need to lose 20-25 pounds SO badly and know I just need to get my rear in gear, but it's just been way too stressful lately. Soon things will settle down I hope.

i'm enjoying my new car very much and DH went shopping for me yesterday---he got the earrings, but I can't have them until the party on Saturday night. I'm excited! My only piece of nice jewelry is my engagement ring- I'm just not a jewelry gal, but have always wanted some nice diamond studs. :love1:

Dh went to DS8's school yesterday in his uniform to be show and tell...he showed some videos he had some of the other guys took in Iraq and the kids just LOVED seeing SSG Black....they had been writing to him all along. It was cute. DH presented the teacher a flag that had flown over the base and a certificate and she almost cried! We chatted with her at recess time and she said only one parent threw a fit about the tshirts the kids were all asked to wear (DH had sent the whole class tshirts that were handed out to Iraqis after the vote and it says something like Iraq, progress, prosperity and has the Iraqi flag on it- a real keepsake if you ask me!) and called the teacher and cussed out Bush and didn't want her kid wearing it. nice. I'd like to think most people are open enough to the progress of some sort of democracy in the world, whether they agree with current politics or not, and my DH certainly put his butt on the line to help it happen.

Anyway, then we went out to dinner as a family- just us, no friends, no inlaws, no strange town, and it was really nice! I'm going to the chiro again in a few minutes to get another adjustment and then I have no plans today except to put laundry away! Things are finally quieting down!

Oh my goodness, there is a lot to reply to!

alice - That's so nice about your earrings, how sweet! I can't believe that one parent put up such a fuss over the shirt. That was great that your DH did so much for the class. Good luck at the chiropractor.

SL - I would go ahead iwth the meat too. It's worth a shot. Dinner at Olive Garden sounds like a mess!

nucpharm - I love your pictures! I haven't seen a current picture of Matthew in awhile, he's gotten so big! I LOVE his hat - where did you get it? I think we'll end up buying Tyler a hat at WDW, because I haven't seen one here that I love. Your trip sounds so great and congrats on the DVC!!!

jill - Gosh, I don't even know what to say anymore about your insurance. I can't even begin to imagine your frustration. I'm so sorry!!!

lisswynn - Your trip sounds great!

diskim - sorry everyone is so sick! How horrible.

hillary - that's so cute about Liam rolling over! Happy early birthday to Kevin - have fun with his party!!

bellacam - Yeah for Aiden and his tooth! We just used orajel and tylenol at night.

zalansky - what a bummer that you have to pay all of that on your taxes!!

tasha - great to hear from you. That's great that you get to do a 1 year trip for Kylie. And yeah to her for all those teeth! wow!

sleep issues - the only thing I can share is what worked for us. We let him cry it out around 4 1/2 months. I know not everyone agrees with that, but it worked for us. It took 2 nights and then he slept great.

Today is Tyler's 9 month birthday! He had his appt. this morning. He is 21.9 pounds and 29 inches long. No shots today but he did get his finger pricked for a blood test.

I went to babies r us last night and got Tyler some swim trunks - they are so cute :) I don't know that it will be warm enough to swim in WDW, but just incase. I don't remember who asked, but we'll be there for 7 days and my parents and brother are coming with too.

Have a great day everyone. hello to those I missed!!

tamie

Hello Mommies! :sunny:

Well, it is official. John Paul is sick. I'm actually surprised that he went three months without getting sick especially with two older sisters who like to smother him with kisses. I think he has a little viral bug poor baby! :sad1:

Bellacam - I love Aiden's picture in your signature! He sure is a cutie! As far as Aiden and teething, I used to give my girls tylenol to help with the pain. I hope his teething is better soon. I also am a big fan of WW too. I did it many years ago and lost about 20 lbs. I've only officially been back for about a week, but I am not having a problem with the points at all which is nice.

DisKim - I hope your kids are better soon. Having two kids at home sick is no fun at all.

Lisawynn - Sorry to hear about the headache! Does your school give winter breaks? It sounds like you could use a little break from school.

Zalansky - I'm glad to hear that Cam is doing better sleeping. It is so nice when the babies are on a schedule and sleep better for you. Yikes! about the taxes! :scared1: We haven't done ours yet and I am afraid to see what it turns out to be. I hope that you all can swing getting DVC though. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

SL - Go ahead and try the meats to see how Lucas likes them. Both my girls were so different with eating. Katie ate finger foods from 6 months on and we never had to do stage 2 foods at all. Meagan hated meats and used to spit them up and out! :rotfl: The texture of the meats really bothered her. I remember she ended up on finger foods by 9 months. Good luck and let us know how it all goes.

Nucpharm - I love the pictures from your trip! :goodvibes Your daughter looks so much like you! Your trip really sounded wonderful and I am so happy that you all got to purchase DVC. 300 points sounds great for this year! What a deal.

Alice28 - I can't believe that some parent would throw a fit over wearing a t-shirt. Some people totally amaze me. :sad2: Glad to hear that you love your car. I'm sorry to hear that Molly is still getting up for you guys! I hope that she sleeps better soon.

Tasha - It is great to hear from you! I'm so happy that you all will be able to go to WDW for Kylie's first birthday! :sunny:

Hillbeans - Your son's birthday is the same day as my daugthers! :teeth: Meagan will be turning 10, but we are throwing her party next weekend b/c my sister turned 40 yesterday and we are having a surprise party for her this weekend. Lots of January birthdays in our house so we get very busy this month. Happy Birthday to Kevin! :bday: I can't wait to see some of the pictures from Liam's baptism!

Inside Ball - Best of luck with the sleeping with your little one. I don't have much advice for you b/c frankly I have no clue! We let my oldest one cry it out when she was a baby and she slept great from that point on. My second was a great sleeper from day one and with John Paul I am just taking it day by day. I hope that your little one sleeps better for you soon.

Tamie - Happy 9 months to Tyler! pixiedust:

All you mommies who are planning trips to WDW have a great time! I am in major WDW withdrawals so I will have to live vicariously through you! :teeth: I don't think we will be able to get back to WDW until 2008 due to my school work. I can't wait that long.

Hi to all the other mommies out there! Have a great day everyone! :sunny:

lissawyn-Yep the hat came from Gymboree--I got the hat and matching shirt on clearance for about $5! :goodvibes

zalansky-From what I understand about the points, was that right now the use year runs from August to August. And since you are in the middle of the use year they are offering, you get the points that would have been given to you on Aug 1, 2005. And then on Aug 1, 2006 you get another 150pts. We are going to bank the points we have now, b/c we aren't going to plan another trip before August. I know, what a shame! :rotfl: And then DVC will prorate your dues from the date you close on the points purchased. Does that make sense? Our guide did say that the "extra" points we got depended on what use year they were offering at the time, and that it could change anytime! I'll try to answer any other questions if I can. We're newbies at this. I do know that the friends and family promotion does end Feb. 1 and that the price of points is going to increase in March of this year.

DisKim-Ariel was at the Princess Storybook lunch in Norway. She was the 1st princess we got to see, so DD was in a good mood still.

Thanks for all the nice comments on our pictures. I'm glad you guys think that DD looks like me--lots of people think she looks just like DH. Well, Today has started out really crappy. Dh is supposed to go out of town for work on Monday. Well, he just called and said that his boss wants him to leave tomorrow! :furious: I'm scheduled to work this weekend, and have nobody to watch the kids. I guess I should also mention that I would have to be at work at 4am, so getting a babysitter is out of the question. So now, I'm waiting to see if someone could cover for me. Now, DH calls and says that maybe we could all go, b/c he works in the town where my parents live. Well, he says we could drive, but that would mean we would have to leave this afternoon! :scared1: I can't believe I might be getting our family to leave for 2 weeks in a couple of hours! And to top that off, I just spent $120 at the grocery store on food that might possibly go bad!!!! Okay, enough venting, time to see if I can find someone to work for me!

Thanks for the advice it does seem that we are going to have to let her cry it out but it's hard with two school age children who could do without having there sleep disturbed, but it's half term next month so i'll try then.
Diskim good luck I have one child off school, and I had the bug last week not nice, this time of year is awful for bugs.
Strawberry lemonade Aimee is five and a months and we have been making pureed roast dinners for about a month she loves them and seems offended if you just give her veggies.
Nucpharm How fustrating good luck hope your weekend improves. 4am how do you manage it.

Thanks for the meat advice. I bought some chicken/pear & turkey/apple type baby food so thought we'd try that. Maybe if it's mixed in with fruits & veggies he'll give it a chance. We'll have it for dinner so I'll let you know how it goes.

Alice28 - Glad your DH's visit to your DS's school went well. Too bad about that whacko parent.

tkyes - Happy 9 month birthday to Tyler!! party:

llij - I hope JP feels better soon and happy birthday to Meagan!! :cake:

nucpharm - I hope you can work out your situation.

Inside Ball - Good luck with CIO.
