DisneyPhD - Maybe I spelled it wrong, but it did get censored.

bellacam - Sorry you woke Aidan up! I have a problem with being brutally honest. Sorry if any of you are crunchy-munchies! That's just the way I am.

SL - I'm on a mission for organization stuff this weekend! Thanks for the info.

Back to the spelling tests!

I know I'm only going to get halfway through my responses because Tyler is due to wake up any minute.

Bellacam - Those moms sound crazy. I have heard people talk about limiting tv time, I've never heard someone turn their nose down at a jumperoo or other activity toys. So, we are all supposed to play with our child 1 on 1 every waking moment? How do they eat, shower, or pee? Sorry, that's just not right. They are the kids that will grow up and cry because they can't be the center of attention out in the real world. I love Aiden's new picture, so cute!

lissawynn - have fun organizing. It feels so great to get that stuff done. I started organizing my office and I'm making progress but I want a few more things. I would love an office straight out of the pottery barn catalog!

Happy 1st Birthday Jenna. I agree that cake is adorable! I just love kids birthdays!

SL - I'm sure Lucas will be fine at the funeral. People will understand. There are always rooms to take him if he does get a little rowdy.

nucpharm - have a safe trip!

gem - congrats on the solids! I would love to see a new picture of Shelby.

Well, my son ate toilet paper today  Just a tiny piece. I was in the tub and despite a million toys on the floor for him to play with he got the garbage can and got the empty toilet paper roll out. He worked a little piece off before I was able to reach out of the tub and grab it. Why do we even buy toys? ;) lol

I'm borrowing a punching bag from a girlfriend, we are going to pick it up tonight. I'm so excited to start punching! I think it will be a good stress reliever!

Wow, I made it through without the little guy waking up. I wonder if I could grab some lunch? That might be pushing it!

Have a great day and weekend everyone!

Tamie

Hello Mommies! :sunny:

This thread sure does move fast! :teeth:

Alice28 - I so glad to hear that you got your money back from Expedia. I've never tried them before, but after hearing what you went through I'm not sure I ever want to. You made me laugh about Molly and the candy cane. :rotfl: It sounds like something one of my daughters would have done.

J&D - Happy Birthday to Jenna! :bday: The pictures are great!

SL - I'm sure it will be fine with Lucas going to the funeral. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

Nucpharm - Wow! I am in awe that you got everything together so fast to go away for two weeks. :worship: Have a great trip! John Paul used Enfamil Lipil for awhile after he was born and for a short time after he finished the preemie formula. It is a good formula but John Paul got gassy and constipated from using it. We are now using soy formula and he is doing great. Let us know how you like the Enfamil.

Bellacam - I must be a terrible mommy b/c both my girls used the exersaucer, johnny jump ups and watched Barney and Teletubbies (btw, are those shows still on? I'm totally dating myself by saying my girls loved those shows!) :teeth: :rotfl: It makes me crazy when other moms are so judgemental of how other moms choose to raise their children. I think my girls survived and are doing well. I'm sorry that those other moms made you feel bad b/c I am sure you are a great mother! :sunny:

Gems - That is great that Shelby did so well with the rice! It make life so much easier when they love the foods you introduce. I can't wait to start John Paul on cereal b/c I'm sure he will be so much happier. :p In answer to your question about JP's shots, we would get them regardless of whether it was covered or not.

Lisawynn - Good luck with grading your papers! :surfweb:

Justhat - Good luck doing your laundry. How is your pregnancy going? Are you feeling better at all?

DisneyPhD - We've only been to DL a handful of times with the last trip in 2004. We really loved it. The Indiana Jones ride was a personal favorite of mine. I think that PotC and IASW is much much better at DL than at WDW. We also loved Fantasmic at DL too. Also, part of the charm was that it was a smaller scale than WDW so we didn't have to walk too much. Wherever you decide to go, have a wonderful time! pixiedust:

Tamie - LOL about the toilet paper! :rotfl2: My mom told me that when I was a baby that I had a fascination with toilet paper. Let us know how you like the punching bag. I hear that it is a good upper body work out.

John Paul is feeling much better today which is good. I also think that the crazy insurance fiasco is finally resolved. :woohoo: Of course, I've said that before so watch I come back on here later and say it is goofed up again! I spoke with the pharmaceutical (sp?) company earlier today and they said that the insurance company sent a letter approving the release of the vaccine. Since we paid out of pocket for his last shot, the company is going to refund us 100% of the money and get the insurance company to cover it. Yippee!!! :cheer2: I hope this is last of this b/c I can't take much more of this craziness. :crazy2: :faint:

Hi to all the other mommies! Everyone have a wonderful weekend! Does anyone have any special plans for the weekend? :wizard:

Bellacam Must put my hand up and join the bad mums club, I'm sure that mums like that feel inadequate so to make themselves feel better put other people down, noone is that perfect 24/7 and if they are they will go insane, people like that really drive me mad.
A good book to read is the Bad Mothers Handbook i got a copy for christmas and can't wait to find 5 mins to start reading it.
J&D What a great cake, we never really see cakes like that over here.
I am babysitting for my sister tonight so I have children asleep everywhere, DS7 DD6 DD5mnths and 2 nieces aged 1 and 2, chaos is all I can say especially as our lounge ceiling is being replastered so all the lounge furniture is scattered round the house.
Thank god its the weekend.Hope everyone has a good one. I'm just hoping to catch up on some sleep having had children being ill all week and a baby that thinks 3am is time to get up.

This is Shelby having her first ever meal! Mmmmm it looks yummy!!

And this is her in her bunny snow suit!

Happy Birthday Jenna! Darling cake! :bday:

Jill, my oldest DS loved the teletubbies- we had a Dipsy and Tinky Winky doll to boot. :rolleyes1

Gems- Shelby is a dollface! What a cutie! Thanks for sharing!

Good luck Inside Ball with the plethora of kids tonight! Holy Cow! :earseek:

Yes, I agree that POTC and IASW are better at DL too....there are many hotels around besides the Disney ones that are nice- off the top of my head I can recommend the Hilton. You can get rooms that overlook the parks there too. DO NOT stay at Ramada Maingate or one called Castle Inn- both are YUCKY on the inside- bare minimum as I recall. The last 5-6 times we have gone with have either stayed at a Disney hotel (spendy- there's no 'moderately priced ones') or at the Hilton. And I love to have fried chicken at the French Market in New Orleans Square, with the band playing...

Tamie- my kids have a fascination with the TP and toilet too; watch out when they start trying to flush things! My oldest was whining when he was about 18 months...I go into the bathroom to see what he was doing and he was STANDING in the potty with his foot stuck in the hole! :rotfl: He never got in the potty again after that! We have also had to snake out toilets to find Star Wars actions figures, and my favorite, a bar of soap. That thing was the biggest pain to clear out! :furious:

SL- hope you and your family are holding up ok. :grouphug:

Are you feeling any better Justhat?

Plans for this weekend- DH's best friend is coming from CA. His 'surprise' party is tomorrow night at the Old Spaghetti Factory- yummmmyyyyy! Not sure what else! Next weekend we are stealing a night away downtown while my parents watch the kids and we're staying at the Embassy Suites. Can't wait. Need to get reservations at the Melting Pot. :drinking1

 Hi all,
I have been sick in bed all week. I actually went to the dr. (only the third time in 7 years that I've gone to our family practitioner). He said I had some type of nasty virus that has been going around. I felt like the walking dead there for a few days.

I'm going to try and catch up the best I can from memory:

SL- So sorry to hear of the loss of your DH Grandmother :grouphug: . Lucas should be fine to bring to the funeral. I brought Katrina to Dh's grandmother's funeral this summer and it worked out fine.

J & D- Happy Birthday to Jenna :cheer2: ! Thanks for sharing your pics :) .

Nucpharm- Enjoy your last minute trip. I hope the shots go well. I loved seeing the pics of your family's vacation. You have a great looking family.

Gems- What a sweetie Shelby is! She looks likes she enjoyed her meal :) .

Tasha- Nice to hear from you :) . I'm glad Kylie is doing well.

Bridget - I wouldn't fit in with that group of moms either. Sounds way too judgemental for me. Congrats on Aidan's tooth! I like your new siggie pic btw.

Jill- I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that the insurance co. is finally going to come through. Forgive me if I'm thinking of the wrong person but did you say it was your dd's birthday this weekend? If so Happy Birthday to her :cheer2: !

DisneyPhd- I'm sure either trip will be great. I have always wanted to experience DL also but I don't think I'm quite done with WDW yet either so it would be a tough call for me.

Justthat- I hope your morning sickness is starting to subside. Have you told your mom about the baby yet?

Robin - I hope all is going well for you.

Insideball- You are a brave lady to have all those kids for the night ;) ! I hope your weekend is restful.

Tamie- Enjoy your punching bag! That sounds like it could be a lot of fun :) .

Lisawynn- I also got the LE clearance catalog and was so tempted by a few items. However, since I just spent $200 on kid's clothes I guess Mommy will have to wait. I did love those boots on the back cover though. Are those the ones you got? If so, I'm jealous.

Hi to everyone. I'm sure I missed things but it is hard to play catch up when you've been off for a couple of days. Hope all the mommies have good weekends. We have no plans as of yet except for cleaning the house  .

Inside Ball - Good luck to you with all of the little ones in your house! :goodvibes

Alice28 - I, too, love the fried chicken at the French Market in New Orleans square. Yum Yum! Have a great time at your husbands party tomorrow night! pixiedust:

Gems - The pictures of Shelby are great! She is such a cute baby!

Valerie - You poor thing! I hope that you are feeling better very soon. :grouphug: There seems to be so many nasty little bugs going around lately. In answer to your question, yes, it is my daughter who is having a birthday on Sunday. Thanks for the well wishes! I am having anxiety over the fact that she is turning 10! I have a child in the double digits now.

Hillbeans - Happy Birthday to Kevin this Sunday!! party: :bday:

Everyone have a great evening! :wave2:

J & D - Happy birthday to Jenna! She is adorable. I love the cake!

vald1977 - I hope you are feeling better

Gems - Shelby is just adorable!

My brain is fried. I'll try to catch up with everyone else later. I already forgot all the posts I read (mommy brain). My two older kids were sick all week. Emily had strep and Alex has some sort of stomach virus and an ear infection. I kept them both home on Thursday and Alex seemed fine. I sent him to school yesterday and he puked all over their Chinese New Year display. Needless to say, I'm exhaused from trying to give plenty of attention to all of them. Of course, Aidan demands his piece. I've kind of felt like the old woman who lived in the shoe this week. It's just been one of those weeks where balancing 3 kids has been tough and I'm feeling guilty because I can't focus on my older two who are sick. Aww...my DS, Alex, just said "mommy, you're the best mom ever." He's so sweet :cloud9: . Well, Aidan is crying. This child needs 24/7 attention. He's so spoiled!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. DH and his family are holding up okay so far. I find that the hardest part is always the funeral, which is later this morning.

Valerie - I'm so sorry you've been sick for a whole week! I'm glad you're feeling better.

justhat - Welcome back.

T16Gems - I love that picture of Shelby eating! She looks adorable in her snowsuit also.

Alice28 - Enjoy your dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. I'm imagining a menu with about 50 different types of spaghetti on it. Like in Forest Gump: spaghetti with red sauce, spaghetti with meatballs, spaghetti with pesto... :lmao:

Inside Ball - Good luck with all those kids around!

DisKim - I hope you get some much-needed rest! Sounds like you could use a bubble bath.

tkyes - Have fun punching. I've never done it, but it sounds like a GREAT stress reliever.

llij - I'm glad your insurance issues are finally resolved. I hope they don't change their minds or find another glitch in the system!

Hi to everyone else!

I showed my MIL the scrapbook I made and she loved it so much I was afraid she was going to keep it so I offered to make her one. She was so happy and I'm glad I can help make her feel better. (It's her mother that passed away.)

I hope everyone has a great weekend. It's supposed to be really nice here, weather-wise. I hope to get out for a little bit.

Good morning! I have just a few minutes to post; I need to get showered and get Jimmy dressed. My sister and I are going to a Vera Bradley store about 30 minutes away to drool over the new bags/colors. DH told me to get one I like. I'm thinking this will be my spring/summer WDW bag. Isn't it terrible that I get so excited over a fabric bag?

Gems - Sweet new pic of Shelby! Did she like her food?

DisKim - I hope your kids are feeling better and you get some rest.

Val - Feel better! I did get the green boots on the back of the catalogue. I really liked the matching coat (also on sale), but they didn't have one in my size.

Alice28 - Have a great time at DH's surprise party! When you have some time, I'd like to "talk" to you about listing stuff on eBay.

Jill - I'm glad the insurance co. is paying for the shot and you're getting a refund from the first one.

SL - :grouphug: for you and your family.

tykes - I would LOVE to have a punching bag. DH and I talked about getting one a few years ago, but it never happened. I used to go to kickboxing and loved hitting the bag.

DH, Jimmy, and I are going to see his sister's new house in Harrisburg today. I'm not looking forward to seeing all of his nieces and nephews since I had hours of "fun" with them last week at Jimmy's party. They are terribly behaved. I do not want Jimmy with them when he's older. They fight constantly and are always scratched up and bleeding from their fights.

Have a good Saturday!

lissawynn- have fun getting your new purse! I can't wait for mine to come in the mail! And I'm sure you will have oodles of fun with the extended family.... :rolleyes2 :sad2: ...PM me anytime with ebay questions....I'm not a total expert, but I know a lot of the basics I guess.

SL- how sweet you are to make a scrapbook DH's grandma for his mother....that's so touching. I made a scrapbook of my FIL for my MIL last Christmas and I can tell she really enjoyed it.

And yes, the Spaghetti Factory is kinda like what you described- 10-12 different spaghetti sauces, plus lots of other pastas. It's so yummy! And cheap! I don't think any entree is over $10 & it comes with bread, salad/soup, ice cream and tea/coffee/milk for that price. (sodas are extra). I know they are nation-wide now, but maybe not in every state. They often put the restaurants in older buildings with kind of turn of the century Victorian furniture, etc....I highly recommend if you are ever near one!

Val & DisKim- hope you are feeling better soon! :grouphug:

Robin,
I hope the party goes well! The Spaghetti Factory sounds yummy. I wish we had one nearby.

Hillbeans,
Happy Birthday to Kevin!

SL,
Sending prayers your family's way today.

Diskim,
I was just thinking of you yesterday. Sorry to hear the kids are sick. I hope they are feeling better today.

Jill,
Hope the slumber party is a success :) .

Lisawynn,
Have a good time shopping! Hopefully the family get together will be mellow. I can't stand being around out of control children.

Thanks for all the wishes my 2 nieces have just left and I am feeling really frazzled now between the 3 little ones I think I had about an hours sleep and hubby had to sleep on the couch as he had work today, now my other niece aged 12 has just turned up to sleep over tonight at least I know she sleeps through the night.
Robin The Spagetti Factory sounds great, does anyone know if there is one in Florida
Tykes the punch bag sounds brilliant I could really do with one of them.
hope everyone has a good weekend I'm off to get a chinese takeaway. :cheer2:

SL - That is so nice of you to make a scrapbook for your MIL.

lissawynn - Believe me, I know what it's like to have to deal with kids that don't behave. Believe it or not, the worst for me is DH's nephew who is 14. He is so immature. He was horrible as a child because he had no discipline other than getting what my SIL called bare-heiney (sp?) spanking. He teases my kids and drives them crazy and they get in trouble because I don't allow them to behave like animals. He also hurts them when he gets angry. A few months ago, he got mad at my DD for something stupid and gave her what he called an Indian burn. I never even heard of this before, but he kind of twisted his hands around DD's arm so he would burn her on purpose. I flipped out. It was the first time I lost my cool. Unfortunately, we have to see him all the time. I love him but he's got some serious issues. Anyway, have fun :teeth:

Alice28 - The spaghetti factory sounds great. I love hearing about these restaurants in other states. Maybe we'll get one here.

Thanks for all the get well wishes. It worked! Everyone is better today. DD and DS were fighting this morning and I was so happy because everything was back to normal.

I spent some much needed one on one time with my DD this morning. I took her out for breakfast and watched her ice skating lesson. Her behavior is so terrible lately that I thought that might be what she needed. She is just so emotional. The funny thing is every mother who was at the lesson was complaining about her DD's behavior and they were all pre-teens. I hope she grows out of it soon. She's just so emotional. She cries if I tell her to put her shoes away. This smilie really fits her perfectly :furious:

I'm supposed to be going out with my girlfriends tonight and I'm just in no mood to go. I'm just not in the mood for everyone else's problems today. Does that sound terrible? They are co-workers so we won't be able to get through dinner without talk about work. It's Saturday; I don't want to talk about work.

tkyes - Enjoy the punching bag. It's a great workout. I took boxing classes and it was great. It really lets you get out your stress too. As a matter of fact, I should get one.

Hi all. I'm back from my Vera Bradley search and destroy mission. Let me explain. My sis and I drive to a really cute store that carried tons of beautiful funriture, country decorations, Waverly fabrics, and Vera Bradley stuff. I was looking for a certain bag in a new color (java blue), but most of their java blue stuff was gone. They were having a 20% off sale, including VB, which I don't think goes on sale until it's discontinued. Anyway, I only ended up getting a coin purse and hard eye glasses case. So my sister sees a wallet she wants, but they don't have it in her pattern (nantucket navy). We ended up driving to another store (another 30 minutes in the car) and bought the stuff we wanted. I got the Villager bag, zip around wallet, and checkbook cover. I love the pattern!

DH and Jimmy are napping. I have to wake them up soon to go visit DH's sister. Can you feel my excitement? :rolleyes1 I'll let you know what happens.

DisKim - My SILs kids are always fighting. They are always scratched, black and blue, or bleeding from their run-ins. They've even been to the emergency room for stitches. I will flip the crazy switch if they ever hurt Jimmy.

Lissawynn - I can't help but think "Nanny 911". I would hope that they wouldn't hurt a little one year old. I would flip the crazy switch too. They will probably get rough with him when he's around 2 or 3. That's what happened with my nephew and my kids. Your shopping trip sounds like fun. I never heard of Vera Bradley. Am I missing out on something good? Of course, I think I was the last person to ever hear of Coach. I'm so oblivious. It took me way too long to figure out why all the girls at school had bags with "C's" all over them.

Molly has an ear infection........ughhhhh...this could explain the screaming like a demon at bedtime the last few nights. And of course Walgreens won't have her prescription (that ever elusive and hard to fill AMOXICILLAN- for crying out loud) for 1.5 hours. Ughhhhh...at least I will get a dose in her before dinner.

I looked at old spaghetti factory's website (osf.com) and the only east coast one is in Atlanta. There's one or two in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana I think..

Anyway, I was on a mission at Target this morning, just to spend money. And I accomplished that. Found a V-Day gift for DH, some other Valentine knickknacks, so on and so forth.

lissawynn- glad you found your Vera Bradley goodies! I can't wait for my D & B to come later this week. DH just spent $1400 on a firearm today....fainting.....oh well, I told him he could spend it since we have so much coming at tax time and his travel pay reimbursement (at least 2K).

Me too, I had to google it to find out what you were talking about. :rotfl: ;)

DisKim - Nanny 911 would be horrified to meet these children. They pretty much stuck to tormenting each other. I know they will go after Jimmy when he's older. I have already warned DH about that day.
Vera Bradley is something I accidentally fell into. I collect rooster stuff for my kitchen and saw a really cute fabric backpack with eggs and roosters all over it a few years ago. I was horrified to find the price was $79, so I bought it with some of my tax return money. It wasn't until after I bought it that I found out it was a Vera Bradley bag. Since then my collection has grown. I have several bags and accessories and love all of them. I used to buy Coach (at the outlet store), but these bags are much more reasonable and functional. The one I bought yesterday is big enough to hold Jimmy's stuff as well as mine. I'm trying to move away from looking like a pack horse.

This is the bag I got. It's called the Villager.
vera.jpg

Alice - I got a Dooney bag from QVC last year. It's the black cabriolet bag. I love it. I know it will last forever (and be stylish forever, too). It's a better grown up bag. I know all about firearms. DH has quite a collection. He's interested in buying some new stuff from his dad. I don't understand it, but then again, he doesn't get the shoes and bags stuff.

Btw, the in-laws kids were true to form yesterday. The oldest one (8) walked in dog poop, then tramped all through the house (off-white carpet). They were fighting over video games and who got what toy. We stayed for about 2 hours and left. I've had enough fun family time to last me until Easter.
