Wow, I finally had a free moment to post and I can't believe how far behind I am...as usual lately! I actually took notes so hopefully I am not missing anybody!
zalansky and Hillbeans~ I hope your first day back went well! I know the butterflies of giving your notice, Loretta! I quit when I was about 10 weeks preg. b/c it was a high stress job and since it was my first baby I was paranoid about the stress causing a m/c so I quit. I don't regret my decision one bit as long as we stay busy which is simple enough with an ever growing mobile 8 month old! I wish we had a little more money sometimes and I miss adult interaction but I know I wouldn't be as happy working as I am w/Kylie so I know I made the right decision afterall.
DisneyPhD~ Hope you and your family have a great time in WDW! We haven't been since June 2004 and have no idea when we will finally go back!
nuchpharm29~ Hope you have a great trip in a couple of weeks also!
Gems~ Good luck with your home business. If I had any idea of how to go about it and had the money to start one up I would do the same. Right now I make a little taking surveys and that's about it.
SL~ Kylie outgrew her infant carrier in height shortly before she turned 6 months. She still hasn't reached the weight maximum for it as she is still only about 18 lbs but she is way too tall now (about 27.5-28" I think). Anyway, I hated the first few weeks b/c she wasn't sitting really well on her own for long periods yet. My mom suggested bringing blankets to prop her up in the shopping cart. I got a few weird looks but hey, it worked! If I was only getting a few things I would just push her in her stroller. And I liked the shopping carts that have the infant seats already attached to the front. If I could find one I would grab it but a lot of times they were all being used. Now Kylie sits without any problems so we don't have to bring blankets anymore and it's not an issue. As far as napping that really isn't an issue with us. She will not sleep when we are in public anymore. She loves the change of scenery and even if she is really tired she is fascinated with everything and doesn't get fussy. When we get back in the car is a different story altogether! Once I try to buckle her in her carseat and if she is tired that's when the crankiness begins and she fights me since she doesn't want in the carseat when she's tired! And she fusses the whole way home most of the time since she refuses to sleep until we are home usually. It is much more pleasant if she has had a LONG nap first! Oh, and I meant to add I love the new pic of Lucas in your sig! That is priceless and way too cute!
vald~ I agree that once babies start sleeping on their stomachs there isn't much you can do about it. Kylie started rolling onto her stomach at 3.5 months and prefers to sleep that way. I could roll her back onto her back all night but it would do no good. She just will not sleep any other way. It's okay though b/c she rolls both ways like a professional and is very strong. I don't worry about her or SIDS anymore.
Disney Enthusiast~ I love your children's pictures and your view is breathtaking! And a baby's laughter is definitely music to my ears. Dh and I find ways to make Kylie laugh just b/c we like to hear it. The one thing that always makes her laugh is our dog, Trixie, a beagle. They are very fond of eachother and Trixie never fails to amuse and entertain Kylie. She laughs daily at her!
Alice~ I hope Molly is feeling better! How fun cleaning barf from all 3 of your children! That is one thing I dread is cleaning up vomit! I will do what I have to do but I can't even clean up the dog's vomit so I am so not looking forward to it!
lissawynn~ Jimmy looks very happy at his table! He is growing so fast! Let us know if you have any "news" soon!
Mommy2three~ Welcome to you and Izabella! My dd started sleeping through the night pretty early too and it really is a blessing! I fear my next won't be so easy!
Jill~ I am sooo happy to hear JP will be able to get his RSV shot tomorrow! I hope the whole insurance mess gets cleared up soon.
joats~ I am glad you finally had a nice weekend! They can be rare sometimes!
bellacam~ I hope your appt. w/the dr. goes well and that you will have no trouble conceiving #2! Good luck!
J & D~ Jenna's party favors sound nice! Have fun planning! I still can't get over the babies turning 1 already this month!
DisKim~ My heart is breaking for you! I can't even imagine what you are going through. I hope you and dh will find a solution that will work for both of you soon. And I would definitely say something to Aidan's sitter about the diaper situation! As far as being a SAHM, it is a little harder financially, that's for sure! But it's not as bad as we had anticipated. We had to make some sacrifices and we don't have the extra spending money that I wish we did. But it is well worth it to stay home and I keep telling myself that one day I will be going back to work and that money will just be spending money anyway as dh's income covers the bills. Anyway, hope things work out!
Tamie~ Kylie also just recently started trying to pull up on us instead of furniture. Today is the first day she braved trying to pull up on the couch and she did it! She fell pretty fast afterward though but it's a start! As far as when we want to ttc our 2nd (and last!) I have changed my mind here recently. I had the itch to try for our 2nd for a while but it pretty much went away about a month ago. I don't even know why. Kylie is such a delight. I think maybe I like the idea of it just being her that we devote all of our attention to right now. Originally we were going to start ttc next Nov. when Kylie is 18 months but that would put me being REALLY preg. during the hottest months and it gets to about 111 degrees here sometimes and I really don't want to be preg. during that time. It was nearly 90 degrees on May 5 when I had Kylie! I don't think I could make it till Aug! We are now thinking we want a spring baby (March or April) b/c that is perfect weather wise here. So we probably are going to start ttc when Kylie is 2. So it won't be until probably June or July of 2007 when we start ttc which would put about a 3 year age difference between them and that seems perfect to me! I thought I wanted another one sooner but now I don't think I do. And dh would rather wait now too. We may change our minds but at this point I don't think we will!
Whew! I think that's everybody! Kylie has been so cranky all week. She is miserable getting her top tooth in and has had a slight fever, nothing major. As long as I give her a cold teething ring, some baby orajel, and baby tylenol she is fine. I wish her tooth would hurry and come through to give her some relief! Her bottom 2 teeth did not bother her and this one is obviously a tough one for her.
And can you believe it has been nearly 70 degrees here all week?! It is usually around 50 degrees here in January so this is definitely not the norm! And I know 50 probably sounds warm to some of you further north but that is cold to me, lol!
Well, I swore I was going to start going to bed earlier and look where I am! It will be 1 a.m. soon and I am here! It is the only time I have to post lately though. Have a great Wed. everyone! I'm off to bed.
