nucpharm29 - I've nursed three children and it is just so hard to give advice on breastfeeding. All three of my babies nursed differently and provided different challenges. I wish I could give you some helpful advice. Any doctor will tell you that he is fine as long as he is not losing weight.

Well, I decided against NYC tomorrow. I'm just too darn tired to even think about it. I would also rather do something with the whole family instead of leaving poor Aidan behind. I just got back from the mall and Target :crowded: . It was awful. Everyone was fighting and nasty. I'm done except for two gift cards. I'll get them next week. I just had to run away from the computer. Santa comes each year on a firetruck to visit all the kids in our town. Of course, Alex and Aidan were in the bath. We had to rush and get their pajamas on and get them outside. We were so disappointed that we missed him, but he came back around the other side of the street. What a thrill! The kids just love it! Well, that just made up for the hell in the stores.

Lissawynn - I just love the Christmas cd you sent me. We listen to it all the time in the car. It has every great Christmas song I could ever think of. Thanks. That was so thoughtful.

Hello mommies. Greetings from a snow-covered PA. Yesterday we got almost 11 inches of snow! DH is super excited as he loves the snow. He was out measuring and recording the snowfall total. He's a weather geek, but I love him. One of his favorite gifts I gave him was a book about the history of the weather in NE PA. Whatever, he likes the weather and I like purses. To each his own.

I, too, and tired. I spent my snow day cleaning, doing laundry, and wrapping the rest of the gifts I had here. My older sis and I took the boys shopping to the outlets in Reading today and then headed to Target and BRU. We got the rest of our shopping done for my mom, so we just have to finish my dad. I also got a shirt for DH at Woolrich and a few other odds and ends. I bought a pack of the Target brand diapers (they have the stretchy tabs), so I figured I'd try them as they are half the price of of Pampers or Huggies.

DisKim - I'm so glad you like the cd. I must have about 20 Christmas cds, so I put them all on my computer and burned a disk of the ones I really like. I am missing a few songs though, so I have one of my colleagues at school on a mission to find the songs I want.

joats - I'm trying to envision a beard of snot. :cold: Can't wait to see your tree.

zalansky - Hope you had a good day at the spa. I haven't been there in so long. I would love a day of pampering.

nucpharm---Hmm....not sure what to say about the b-feeding. I nursed 3 too and my youngest had some troubles. Maybe he just gets frustrated cause he wants it faster??? :confused3 Maybe that's just his personality? And I bet you're right, part of it is I'm sure because he's stuffy.

lissawynn- got a chuckle envisioning your DH out there measuring the snow. Glad you got a lot accomplished on your snowy weekend!

Diskim- that's SO cool about Santa coming through your neighborhood! what fun! Glad the kids didn't miss him.

Joats- I totally hear ya on having a hard time touching base with everyone here on the threads. I always know I am forgetting SOMEONE. LOL about the beard of snot. I was walking in the mall today with the kids and was so enamored looking at the new stores (new wing of the mall opened with Sephora, Janie and Jack, Pottery Barn Kids, etc) that some woman snarkily said to me, "DO YOU REALIZE YOUR BABY IS HALFWAY OUT OF THE STROLLER!" WHOOPS! Molly had slid halfway out cause I forgot to buckle her! :guilty: :guilty: So don't feel like bad momma cause Jace had a runny nose! :teeth:

Gems- what a pretty tree! And I like the portrait of the angel with the flag- that's neat.

Bellacam----your cards are AWESOME! Baby Aidan is so sweet! Great job!

Zalansky---oh man, a spa day sounds like heaven. I want one too! :cloud9:

We went to Red Lobster for lunch and the kids were SO excited. THey love that place and we hadn't been since June. They were like shouting, "OH BISCUITS!" when they came and the servers were cracking up. We don't get out much these days. ;)

So much to reply to!

I agree, great holiday photos and trees! I still need to take a picture of our tree.

alice - glad things are going well with your mil.

great card bellacam!

glad the sleepover went well diskim!

great picture zalansky! LOL about the shoes. We had to take Tyler's off for his pictures too because he wouldn't leave the shoelaces alone. hope you enjoyed the spa.

joats - lol about jace and his runny nose. have fun decorating.

We took Tyler to see Santa yesterday. He didn't cry, but he didn't smile either. He just stared up at Santa and then tried to grab his beard. It was a real one so it was ok. It was pretty cute. I'm not sure why I paid $11 for the picture when the one I took is better. Oh well!

We need to get Tyler a new humidifier - what's the difference between warm mist and cool mist? (obviously the warm and cold, but why is one better than the other?)

I am almost done shopping! DH took Tyler to his mom's house to decorate her tree and I went shopping for 4 hours. I only have a couple of things left to get! I'm almost done wrapping too.

Talk to you all later! Enjoy the rest of your weekends.

Tamie

I am so happy for you that your love is coming home to you, how exciting. My DH is an long distance truck driver and though he comes home all the time, I always get so excited when he comes home from being away for a week or so. DH is now on his way to Florida, he has been gone 4 days now.

Alice 28 - I am so happy for you! I can't imagine how relieved you will be once he gets home.

I'm sitting here waiting for my Overstock.com order to go through. I tried to place this order yesterday and the same thing happened. I need a darn Cheetah Girls cd for my neice. I can't find it anywhere else. For those of you who don't know who they are, they are a Disney Channel "band" (if you want to call it that). The little girls love them. My DD listens to her Cheetah Girls Christmas all the time. I'm trying to decide what to do today. I think I'm going to take my kids to a little theme park in south Jersey called Storybookland. Sants comes out of the chimney of his little house and lights up the entire park. It is so beautiful. It "snows" in front of his house and the kids can go in and visit with him. I just don't know how Aidan will like being outside in the cold for a few hours. I like going because they make good cheesesteaks in the snack bar (which looks like a gingerbread house). If any of you live in the vicinity of Jersey, I highly reccomend you go. The website is storybookland.com. It's one of our family traditions.

Alice28 - Yay that your DH is coming home so soon! I have to laugh about your trip to Red Lobster! I love their biscuits, too. I have never cheered when they came to the table, though.
If you got a chuckle about my DH measuring the snow, you would have really had a good belly laugh this morning when he went outside in his boxer briefs to read the thermometer. What some people will do for the weather.

DisKim - Have a good time at Storybookland! Enjoy that cheesesteak!

Tamie - I don't know the real difference between the humidifiers, but when Jimmy was sick at just a few weeks old, the drs office told me to buy cool mist. Something about not getting burned? Or maybe that was why we weren't supposed to use the vaporizer anymore?

I'll be spending my day doing laundry, catching up on school work, and possibly baking some cookies.
Have a good day all!

Tamie - i'm not a humidifier expert, but i've always heard that cool mist is best for clearing a congested nose. I've always had a cool mist one, even when I was growing up at my parents house.

Alice - Congrats and safe travels to your DH on his way home!

2sweetangels - wonderful new picture of the girls!

DisKim - LOL at mars2112 and ToysRus in NYC - I couldn't even imagine being there on a weekend in December. My husband is going to take off on the 20th of December (tuesday) and we're going to brave the cold and take the train into NYC to see the Christmas Tree with all the kids. I'd better buy one of those "Fleece covers" for Liam's car seat!

Zalansky - When will your last day of work be? I just love your new christmas picture with Connor and Cameryn.

Bellacam - I love the new picture of Aidan!

Sorry if I missed anyone, I agree with Joats that this thread moves so fast it's next to impossible to respond to everyone! We're going to get our tree today or tomorrow.

TOTAL LOL at the thought of your DH in boxers looking at the temp! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

When my DH and I were first married, Portland got the biggest dumping of snow in about 25-30 years (about 8 inches). So what did we newly transported, freakish about snow Californians do? Ran out there in our swimsuits and took pictures. We were idiots.

Storybookland sounds so cute DisKim! Hope you all have fun and thank goodness you can avoid the alien restaurant- it sounded migraine inducing, although shopping in NYC sounded fun! I've never been, although having watched every Sex in the City episode at least twice, I feel semi-familiar with Manhattan- I really want to go someday! It looks fascinating.

Anyway, I hope you find that Cheetah Girls CD DisKim- how frustrating! My DS bought the Chicken Little soundtrack with some Bday money and it had a song by the Cheetah Girls on it and he just loves that song!

I'm still on Cloud 9 :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: about DH's news. I can't believe it's really real...that we finally have a date...that he'll be home in less than a month....he left August 16th, 2004!!! It's been an eternity. I've seen him for a total of about 30 days since then. The kids have changed so much!

Speaking of changing, Molly cut her SIXTH tooth yesterday and she has this yucky, pasty, diahrrea (sorry if TMI)....I am wondering if it's from the tooth cutting or something the poor baby ate (we've been eating out a lot with MIL here and Molly has been trying our foods, but nothing she hasn't had before...).

Oh, I think they recommend cool mist so no danger of burning. Do they even sell hot ones anymore? It seems everything I've looked at says 'cool.'

Have a great day everyone!

I am back again. DH is looking at used cars b/c he needs a vehicle to drive back and forth to work. At his old job, he had a work truck that he drove from our home everyday (they also paid for his gas). I am looking at Overstock.com (thanks for the idea Kim) for a watch for DH. I'm not ordering it until he gets home at takes a look at it, though. He is SO picky!

Jimmy is hanging out in his pack n play amusing himself. I think it's important that he can entertain himself instead of relying on me or DH to keep him occupied.

I was going to go to Big Lots to pick up a few small toys for a little girl I'm buying a gift for (her mom is in a half-way house for drug addicts), but I just don't feel like bundling Jimmy up and braving the cold and craziness today.

I think I need to remove myself from the computer and get to baking.

DisKim - LOL at mars2112 and ToysRus in NYC - I couldn't even imagine being there on a weekend in December.
I chickened out. The stores were so crowded yesterday that I decided there was no way I was dealing with NYC on a Sunday. I think we might go in after Christmas. We're just too busy.

Aidan is pooping like that too. He is cutting 4 teeth on top. I can't wait until they are through already. Then, he'll have 7 teeth altogether.
OK, I have to go pack the diaper bag. I've been waiting for DH to get home from food shopping so we can leave for Storybookland. It's better in the dark anyway. I'm taking a personal day tomorrow. Our school calendar leaves us with no time off before the holiday. I just need a day to try to catch up.

Hey everyone,
Robin,
LOL at the cheddar/garlic bisquits from Red Lobster :teeth: . That is probably my fav. restaurant of all time and there aren't any nearby us. The closest is about a 2 and half hour drive. We usually just go when we are in Florida but that won't be for awhile :guilty: .

That is such fantastic news that you have a date, Robin! It's just a few weeks away :flower: :Pinkbounc ! I'm sure the kids are beside themselves.

Diskim,
We had Santa visit us today on his firetruck also. I really love our town because of all the little traditions they do :goodvibes . I have never been to the city during the Christmas season. Actually, the only time I've ever gone was for a day with my 7th grade class (a looong time ago ;) ). I would just love to go see a play someday.

Lisawynn,
Hope you are enjoying your day of baking. I have to do that tomorrow. I am hosting my sorority's Christmas party on Tuesday and we have a cookie exchange. It should be fun.

Have a good night  .

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :grouphug: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Alice28, I am so happy for you and your family. Heres to time flying and a safe trip home for him! :cool1: :flower:

Good eye Robin, I never would have noticed that I had 5,000 posts.

That's such great news about your husband! OMG - I can't even imagine how excited you must be!!! Poor Molly and her tooth.

Thanks for the humidifier info. I'll go do a little research too I think. We have a warm mist one now that we bought for ourselves. We only have it on when he sleeps, but I think we need a new one.

Tyler got himself to a sitting position today!

Tyler also saw Santa. He didn't cry but he also didn't smile. He just stared at Santa and tried to grab his beard. It was pretty darn cute.

I took some pictures today -

Here's our tree -

dinningroomlr.jpg

This is a 2nd fake tree that I put up and you can see part of our new dining room table.

christmascarddis.jpg

And this is how our Christmas card turned out. It's a weird angle because I got a glare off the photo when I took it straight on.

We have a busy week. We have a Christmas party to go to on Tuesday. Friday night DH graduates with his Master's degree (I'm so proud!), Saturday we are hosting a Christmas party here and Sunday we are hosting a Christmas party here too. Lots to do. I think I'm going to make some biscotti tonight to serve with coffee for Saturday.

Talk to you all later. Oh, cross your finger DH doesn't have to go in for jury duty, then he can spend some time at home with us!

Tamie

Hi everyone!

Love everyone's trees! They look fantastic.

Alice28 - I'm so glad your DH has a definite date to come home!!! That's awesome.

Bellacam & tkyes - great cards! The photos came out great.

I'm with Joats - I have such a hard time keeping up with the responses on this thread! Sometimes I'll read them a post at a time, but don't respond right away. It builds so quickly that I can't keep up.

We were at a baptism today for my nephews. I'm the godmother for one and DH is the godfather for the other (twins). It's been a crazy weekend. At least I managed to make it to the Christmas Tree Shop to pick up some frames. I'm giving Lucas's picture out as Christmas gifts.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Add me to the list of people who can't keep up with the thread. I love the photos of everyone's trees and cards. If I ever get my card finished I'll post a photo of it. I refuse to post a photo of our tree though cause it's so tiny and junky I'd be embarassed. I'm just glad Madison it too young to know the difference in a nice tree and a good tree. It's not even green, it's a white tree. And I can't find the lights so it's not even lit up this year. We have lights up on the window behind the tree, but there are way too many to fit on our tree. Ugh. We simply don't have room for anything better this year. I guess you could compare it to Charlie Brown's tree in that Christmas movie.

I have to give Madison a bath now. She's up kinda late for her, but I'll post again later and hopefully will have the photo for our card done by then.

Hello!
Quick post before the Survivor finale begins. I'm so excited!

Alice: I'm so happy to hear your wonderful news!!
Tamie: Love the look of your holiday card!
DisKim: Storybookland sounds cool! I used to love Santa Land in VT as a kid. I'll have to check out how far Storybookland is from me as it sounds like it would be fun for Jace (in a few years).
Glad I'm not the only one having major difficulty trying to keep up. I apologize for not responding to all of you.

Well, I managed to get Jace to see santa (he did the same thing as Tyler - watched him like a hawk and pulled on the beard hair). Thankfully no tears. The picture came out ok. I don't like that you can't take your own photos and have to buy a $11 photo that costs them about 50 cents tops to make....don't get me going on my soapbox.

We then decorated the tree this afternoon/evening. I ordered 2 ornaments for Jace that have not come yet - but otherwise it's done. I'll have to take some photos to post.

I also worked on my christmas cards. I got about 15 done. Too many more to go.

Now my living room is full of boxes of all the rest of the christmas decorations that I didn't get to today. Unfortunately, I probably won't get to them until next weekend as the weekdays don't allow any time. My house is a complete mess!! Yuck! CHAOS!

Well, off to grab a scoop of ice cream and settle in for Survivor.
Have a great night!

Good morning mommies! Well it's Monday, the beginning of a new week. My girl's have an appointment at Target for Christmas pictures this afternoon, hopefully I can get Katelyn to take a nap before we go, so she ain't all crabby. The girl's are still sleeping, but I have my cousin and he is being occupied right now, so I had some time to write a Hello.

I had Lucas's pictures taken at Target and they came out great. I was happy with the service, too. Good luck!
