Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Saturday- coating
If you bread it and fry it I’ll probably eat it pickles / onions and normally I don’t eat onions/ cheese cubes / you name it

Anything coated in powdered sugar again you make those little cookies and roll them in powdered sugar I’ll probably eat them
Which leads me too
Just about anything coated in chocolate I’m especially grateful for Reese‘s peanut butter cups I’m a little too grateful for those like way too grateful

Goof off
Well according to my mother I’m really good at that🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I like the days of having nothing to do or nothing scheduled or you can just sit and enjoy the day I don’t considering goofing off I consider it relaxing and resetting

I have fond memories of having to one of the flowers at night and then having a water fight with my kids - never had the hose was the one who ruled this also applied when washing a car it wasn’t just a car that got wet
Game Nights every weekend

Hide something and see how long it takes for the person to notice - my kids enjoy playing that game constantly or move something and see how long it took me to notice or take a picture upside down see how long it took me to notice

Good Sunday morning

Always nice to have a day off of work. My answers are focused on an extra day off work, like Memorial Day or Labor Day

#1 - SLEEPING IN - I’ll go to the gym an extra day on the weekend so I can sleep in on a day off.

#2 - NOT RUSHING - It’s wonderful to have a morning of not rushing unless we have something planned.

#3 - TAKE IT EASY DURING THE DAY - I’ll work harder to get household chores done over the weekend, so I can take it easy on the extra day off work.

Afternoon all,

1. Getting chores done - I have every other Friday off work and I tend to use this day to get my jobs done at home or go for appointments, so I don't have to squeeze them in during the week or weekend, and can spend my weekends doing thing i enjoy!

2. Taking it easy - conversely, getting all my jobs done on one day means I can spend my other days off relaxing and taking it easy, doing whatever I want.

3. Going out shopping - not often, but sometimes I like to use my days off for a bit of retail therapy and this usually involves stopping for a coffee and a cake minimum, if not a full on lunch.

🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😆😆😆🤡🤡
Wife declared today as goof off day...as Wikipedia defined as....not attending to obligations and do we have many with 3 shedding dog and a desert botanical nightmare....l mean dream... anyhow when it gets cold tomorrow at ,95 we have to attend to our snow bird contract yards

Sunday morning with CBS Jane Pauly is my sacred goof off time... I have this personality disorder that I have to view significant pop culture..(I don't watch TMZ. ET... though I do watch inside edition). ..as a journalist in the 80s I saved every people magazine... where else decades later are you going to research that information????🤯🤯
Robert Mueller died this week

Now at this point being 70..goof off time is now being defined by my wife .... for example.. typing here.... but I don't see this or anything else I do as goofing off... I attend to this community and community around me as an obligation.... for example....

This collection of t shirts was purchased $6.00 a bag at the rummage sale..13 rolled up come to 50 cents each.... the goof off time as defined by my wife is researching their values on eBay.... the Hendricks shirt as a on line value of $25.00....blue Beatles snoopy peanut gang Abby road $15.00....cobra mustang shirt $5.00 and Harry Potter shirt is stain..

So this is how I goof off....shirts and research are going to a thrift store downtown that helps the infrastructure of domestic violence services...$6.00 converted to over $50.00 of thrift store retail.... GOOFING OFF... priceless!!!!!!

West VA
One of my closest friends lives there. We were work colleagues who became good friends and now we see each other once a month when our retired group gets together.
Goof off days
Being retired, that doesn't have the same impact that it once had. But I enjoy days when I don't have any doctor appointments or other obligations. I can stretch out my time on my phone and iPad, read a little longer, and choose something from my to do list if I feel so inclined.

West Virginia . . .

Both of my parents were from West Virginia, from counties right next to each other, although they met in another state.

My paternal grandparents had a farm there when I was very young. There were a lot of creeks with board bridges on the property that I wasn’t allowed to cross without a grownup. The strawberry patch required crossing a bridge and I can still remember running up to the bridge and it taking forever for the adults to catch up.

I remember us traveling back to W Va to visit extended family. The mountains were beautiful, no matter what time of year.

(Thu, 3/19) - 3 people you're grateful for who have taken care of you (or people you know who take care of others)
1. My brother is a cardiac nurse
2. My parents
3. God
(Okay. Maybe the order should be reversed, but...)
I could honestly list so many people for this one.

(Fri, 3/20) - 3 things you're grateful for about spring
1. Easter
2. Warmer weather
3. Budding trees and pretty flowers

(Sat, 3/21) - 3 things you're grateful for that have some kind of coating
1. Dipped chocolate cones
2. Fried chicken.... specifically spicy chicken
3. Fried pickles

(Sun, 3/22) is 3 things you're grateful to do on a day off
1. Sleep in
2. Visit local attractions when there are fewer people
3. Relax

Happy Monday Everyone

D - DESK - My desk is called a secretary desk and I’ve had it for 25 years now. I like that I can close it up so no one sees what’s inside.

I - ICE MAKER - I’m talking about the one in my refrigerator. You don’t know how grateful you are for it, until it’s not working.

P - PONCHOS - I’m talking about the disposable ones I take to WDW. They are on my mind, because I need to buy some for our upcoming trip,

Goof Off
- Sleep in- I used to be physically capable of sleeping in until lunch time (or later). Now I'm happy if I can just lounge in bed until 7am.
- Rest day- I still get out and walk on rest days but I get to skip the gym
- Shopping- It really could be for anything. I don't even have to be buying...it's just a fun way to pass time when there's nothing else going on.

DIP

D - Desk- I've mentioned that DH got me a standing desk last year. We have similar ones in the actual office. It has a series of buttons on it so that it can be raised and lowered. There's so much mention of how prolonged sitting isn't good for people's health, so I'm grateful I can easily raise my desk to keep me on my feet for much of the day. It also adds to my daily step count.

I -Ice Cream Alternative- Breyer's has a line called CarbSmart. It's a fraction of the calories and fat of regular ice cream and it's cheaper than options like Halo Top and Nick's. The vanilla is only 100 calories per serving and the serving size is pretty generous. I usually double up and wind up with a huge bowl for only 200 calories.

P - Palisade- I currently drive a Hyundai Palisade. Next month will mark 5 years. Admittedly, I'm kind of bored with her even though she's been a very good vehicle and has lots of features that I honestly don't want to live without whenever the time comes to move on. She's been a road warrior...traveling to nearly 25 states. No, not all of the states I've personally been to, but that's a lot of states for a singular vehicle.

C is always first and foremost for my Savior, Jesus Christ. Secondary for Champ, Caroling, and Christmas. Cocoa, too :)

H is for God's absolute blessing to my Dad and I that we are home together with and for Him one more. Hallmark channel. I tend to prefer Great American Family.

I is for imagination.

P is for pancakes, of course, and puppies. Patience, too.

S is for Spring.

Afternoon all,

C = Cats - while I love all animals, cats have always been my preferred pets. Their personalities and behaviours fit in a lot more with me and my lifestyle, and they're just all round funny and adorable characters.

H = Holidays - holidays (vacations) are the main reason I go to work, as it helps me afford some amazing trips and they're the main thing i look forward to. Always need a holiday booked!

I = Internet - where would we be without the internet? Can't imagine live without it.

P = Pasta - something I eat far too much of but there are so many different variations and often makes for a quick and easy meal.

S = Sunshine - a day is automatically much better when the sun is shining. And so nice when you can sit outside when it's warm enough.

I am so grateful for

D…the dogs we have had: Midnight, Buster, Daisy, Emma, Belle, Gus and now Bonnie!

I…Ice Cream

P…our pond and the beautiful graceful fish, and the plants that live in it!

D: my daughter. The day she was born was the happiest day of my life. (didn't think that wish would ever come true. If you've been there, you know)

P: photography, taking photos and looking at others' photos, especially of WDW and nature
