What a crazy week its been. Ive checked the board a couple of times and try and respond but then motherhood calls or I have to go pick up my next class or something.
This past weekend was busy. Hubby and I finally cleaned the house. Weve been trying for several weeks. My inlaws took Lily with them to the town fest for a couple of hours. MIL likes to walk with the stroller. She refuses to use a cane or a walker the rest of the time so FIL has to hold onto her. Since it was both in-laws, I was ok. However, then they came home and FIL told me that he gave Lily powdered sugar from a funnel cake. Hello --- theres corn starch on powdered sugar! Between hubby and his family the only high allergen foods she hasnt had are strawberries and corn.
We had friends come out that night to visit and to meet Lily. Then we all went to Outback. YUMMMMM! The best part is they treated us! Woo hoo.
Sunday, we went to the zoo with my parents and niece and nephew. It was a long day and we didnt see much. We were there for 45 minutes before we ever got to see an animal. My Dad had to take a rest after the walk for the parking lot and after we saw any animal exhibit. I can tell you what every park bench at the zoo looks like. UGH! He sits on his butt all day at home and then wonders why he gets so tired easily! Hes been like this since he retired. In 8 hours, we saw six sets of animal exhibits.
Dis PhD -- We met another Lily Grace at the zoo today. She was a little blond girl about 4. We heard parents hollaring Lily Grace and Mike and I turned around and the parents told us their daughter was running up ahead. Too funny! That brings the grand total of Lily Grace's to 4 now. Then I got a PM from another poster whose 2 daughters are named Lily and Grace. Can they be added to the count? Hee hee?
Lisawynn -- Your school district sounds very neoNazi. A personal day for an after school activity? That's nuts. We had our meet the teacher night and I had the most parents visit out of all the teachers. I had a whopping 12 parents! Only 7 of them were mine, the rest came to see the baby. Yes, I know -- very unprofessional of me. However, we are not required to be there so I brought her. I also hired a student to watch her during the whole thing so I could talk to parents. Anyway, that was 7 parents for the 60 kids I see. Only 2 are siblings. I usually think the whole thing is a waste anyway. At least this year was fun 'cause I got to show Lily off.

I've only taught in high poverty districts and we rarely have parents show up for these things. I am glad when they come for conferences.
Child care -- I love Lily's day care. It is the sister of one of the women I work with. She put Lily on a schedule.
Valerie Katrina is gorgeous. Lily is always crying when we take photos. Shes very high maintenance
just like her Mommy.
Weight loss Wow, everyone is talking about weight loss. Im gonna brag. I was actually a pound lighter after I had Lily. However, I was and still am what the medical charts call morbidly obese. Definitely past Pooh sized. More like Ursula sized
Ive been thinking about joining ww again but money is a little tight until we finish refinancing. Our mortgage went up about 400 as of last month b/c they miscalculated our property taxes when we originally bought the house.
The rest of the week has been hectic. I feel like I can't get anything graded. It is impossible to do during the day b/c I need to call parents and get copies done during my plan periods. When I have kids with me I need to be up and around all the time or complete chaos reigns. I can't stay late b/c I need to get Lily from the sitter's. Hubby stays late most days so he doesn't fall behind at work and then comes home later. I understand but its not fair. I feel like I'm always playing catch up.
I'm looking forward to this weekend. I'm leaving Lily with Daddy on Sunday and getting together with my team so we can lesson plan together since there is only one set of materials between the 5 of us. Hmmmm, why is our school failing? No books for students, no books for teachers. It has been crazy. We've been sending the text chapters to be copied so everyone has a copy. Its good though. At least we can teach the kids how to highlight and take notes.
I hope everyone (*and the babies) are doign well. I'll try and visit over the weekend.
