Welcome 2sweetangels - I hear you about it not being easy. I have had a rough week this week and have been down in the dumps bigtime! Yours are closer in age than mine so that has to be tough!
I love the name Hayley...

Tasha - have fun at the garage sale this weekend and also with your pics. I overheard lots of mommies shopping for "picture dresses" this past week while I was at the mall. Share the pics of you can.

Alice28 - I hit Gymbo yesterday too. I spent about $100 but I am taking two things back. Truthfully I hit 3 Gymbo's yesterday, sick isn't that? I was looking for certain pieces to certain outfits, which I never found, but did get some other good deals. Plus it was fun. I saw one mommy at two gymbo's also, so I wasn't the only nut out there yesterday!

SL - that humidifier cracks me up. I hope it works well for you and Lucas feels better very soon.

Today is our 5th wedding anniversary and DH and I were supposed to go to Busch Gardens for the day. Well he had a business meeting yesterday and must have eaten something bad and was up all night sick. So, there goes our day. And, it is a perfect day in Tampa. I am sooo bummed. Oh well.

Hope all the mommies have a great weekend!!! :goodvibes

Zalansky- LOL about the 3 Gymbos....sounds like something I would do if I was on a serious mission. What line are you trying to piece together? Happy anniversary! Even if DH wasn't feeling so "happy."

I went out with my friend to lunch today. feeling a bit blue. Missing DH, seeing all the flags out and such. I want to share a picture of he and I, when he was home last Christmas. You can't tell I am 6+ months pregnant cause his hat is covering my belly. Here we are and sorry pic is so HUGE....

Add us to your list o' babies please!

Do any of you know about cradle cap? My 3 month old DD has 2 dry like scabs on her head, like a white skin scab almost. There not really big spots and they have no redness to them. My older DD never had any spots. My husband sister's son is 7, and his mom told me that her son has the same spots in almost the same place, but I though only babies got it, his never went away yet.

Alice28 - that is such a great GREAT picture of you and your DH! You guys look so happy....I love the scenery and trees in the background. And I am happy to put a face to the name. Thanks for sharing it. :flower: As for Gymbo I was looking for pieces to the nweborn lines that were fleece, of A Knight in Shining Armor and Pretty Princess. A friend of mine had a boy and I got the jacket in 6-12 month and pants for 3-6 months. The deal was so good I could not pass it up even if the sizes were off. But I got obsessed and went looking to see if I could find the pants in 6-12. I also was able to get Cameryn the jacket from that line, it is too cute, it has a little princess hanging off the zipper. Alas, I never found what I was looking for, but it was still fun!

2sweetangels - Cameryn had very mild cradle cap after she was born and our ped told us to use Johnson & johnson's baby shampoo, we did and it cleared up. We wash her hair every other day now, the little there is of it. The ped had also told us of a special comb to use to help loosen the flakes but we never had to go that far since it cleared up.

Welcome Angiewin! I love your son's names. :goodvibes

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend....

Cradle Cap- I have read that if you put a litte oil (baby) on their head, leave it there for 10 minutes or so, comb out the flakes and then rinse, that that works well.

Thank you for the compliment about the picture! That was taken in our backyard. Our house may be small, but we have a kickbutt view out our backyard! :teeth: It's one of the reasons we really hesitate to move. Of course that picture was taken in late December last year, so it wasn't all green and pretty like it is in the spring and summer.

I know what pieces (gymbo) you are talking about- those were cute...amazing how we can get on these quests, isn't it! Gymboree makes things so darn cute.

Anyway, today my parents are coming over in the AM to do a few things for me with some home repairs (minor) and then I have to take the boys to a birthday party. I think I may just drop them off since I know the parents well, and run to the grocery store so I only have Molly and not all 3. What an exciting day! ;) Molly slept like poop last night- I think it was because I took two sudafed around 2 or 3 pm....I took those when Sam was a baby and then he would get SUPER hyper- the doctor told me that the sudafed can get in your breastmilk and some babies are sensitive to it. I guess Molly is too cause she was hyper and restless. Sigh.....my sinuses were just killing me yesterday and I hate taking other meds cause they make me tired.

Lily had bad cradle cap and way too much hair to put baby oil or olive oil on. We left it alone thinking it would go away. It did't.
Finallay my doc told me to just use head and sholders on her and becareful of her eyes. That is what we do. It works pretty well, but we have to do it every so often because we haven't tottally gotten rid of it yet. She just has so much hair (along with big sister.)

Lovely picture, Robin :) .

Welcome to our new members  .

For my dd's cradle cap, I rubbed vaseline into her scalp and left it on for about 30 minutes. Then I brushed her head with a very soft bristled tooth brush. Next a good shampoo and it was gone. Good luck with it.

Zalansky,
Cameryn looks so happy in her Gymboree outfit :flower: .

Have a good weekend everyone :wave2: !

Alice28 - Great picture of you and your DH! I'm sorry that you are feeling blue. :grouphug: I remember when my dad was on deployment and how tough it was on my mom. Hang in there and I'm sending best wishes that the time flies by and he is home soon. :wizard:

Zalansky - Happy Anniversary! :sunny: I'm sorry that Busch Gardens didn't work out, but I hope that you had a great anniversary!

SL- I love that humidifier! Too cute!!! I hope that your little one feels better soon. :goodvibes

Hillbeans - Thanks for asking about John. On Thursday evening we went to see this Cranio Facial group based out of Fairfax Hospital. We got to meet with a team of specialists who focus on Cleft Lip/Cleft Palate issues. When we got there we met a bunch of wonderful families whose children were in various stages of their treatments. The kids were all such cuties! The families were so sweet and came up to us and introduced themselves and offered support and help which was so very nice. :grouphug: We then went off and met individually with about 8 different specialists ranging from a geneticist, ENT, plastic surgeon, speech pathologist, oral surgeon, dentist, etc. They all evaluated John and we will meet with the doctors again once we get close to surgery. We consider ourselves very blessed, b/c John's case is very mild. He just has a cleft palate in the very back of his throat in the soft palate area. You really can't tell by looking at him that there is a cleft palate issue. Thankfully, he will only need one surgery at this point and overall he is a healthy little guy. We count our blessing every day. :sunny:

On another note, I have been struggling with recovery from my c-section. I ended up in the hospital last night and had an emergency D&C. I bled alot during my c-section two weeks ago and started to bleed heavily yesterday. (Sorry if TMI!) The doctor told me that if she couldn't get my bleeding under control last night then she was going to do an emergency hysterectomy. I am definitely done having children so the thought of having a hysterectomy didn't bother me. What bothered me was the thought of a second abdominal surgery in two weeks. I really want to feel better so I can take care of my baby. Thankfully, she controlled the bleeding and I am now back home in bed for two days. I'm sore today, but that is ok. My DH has been so wonderful taking care of the baby, the girls and me. He should be sainted for this.

Again, sorry to ramble! I tend to do that but I just wanted to get some of this off of my chest so to speak. Thanks for letting me ramble on! I look forward to the day when I have a boring day with no news! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Welcome to all of the new mommies!!!! :goodvibes :sunny:

I think I caught whatever Lucas has. I feel horrible. Poor DH is trying to take care of both of us.

2sweetangels - I second what Alice28 said. I used baby oil; rub it in, wait 10 minutes, shampoo out, and brush hair. But like DisneyPhD mentioned, it only works well if your DD's hair is on the thin or fine side.

Alice28 - That is a fantastic picture. You and your DH look so happy together. I can't wait until he gets home to you! :goodvibes

AngieWin - Congrats and welcome! :flower:

llij - Good luck on your road to recovery. I didn't have a C-Section so I can't begin to imagine how tough it is.

zalansky - Cameryn is so cute!

Anyone I missed, I'm sorry. I'm on cold pills and they're making me a little loopy. SORRY! :p

Thank you all for the advice. Well I finally have a little time to sit on the computer while my DD's nap. Im taking my girl's out later to the Chicago DIS meet today along with my mom (DM) Nite0wl71.

Jill,
So sorry to hear you ended up in the hospital with a D & C yesterday. Sending :wizard: that you are feeling better soon. I'm also glad to hear that John's appts. went well.

StrawberryLemonade,
Sorry to hear your sick. Sending some :wizard: for you and Lucas too. BTW, that humidifier is very cute. When we saw it at Target, DH wanted to buy it even though we already have a regular one just because he thaught it was cute :) .

Forgot to say Happy Anniversary to Zalansky :sunny: !

I have a question for you guys. Katrina is 4 months today and she doesn't seem the least bit interested in learning to roll over. I put her on her tummy for short times during the day but she will just turn her head to the side and lay there without trying to roll. She does lift her head up well and can push up on her arms but doesn't seem to want to much. What can I do to motivate her to roll over?

Before washing him, I put a couple of drops of baby oil on ds's dry spots and gently brush with a baby brush. The flakes loosen up and then are washed away by the baby shampoo, or water. He also has eczema, so I give him a bath every other day, but only use soap every other bath (every 4 days). I use a hyrdrocortizone cream and a natural cream on his skin.

Jill - you poor thing!! You've had a rough few weeks and now to add this emergency surgery to the list i'm sure you're exhausted.

How scary. I hope that you're feeling better today. I can't imagine what you're going through with recovering from childbirth, a C-section and now a D & C all with a new little baby at home. If there is anything we can do for you, just ask! I'm glad to hear though that John's surgery is a less serious kind of cleft palate - I know he'll be just fine. I hope your girls are all taking this in stride, i'm sure it's tough for them to see their mom going through what you've gone through over the last few days/weeks.

Feel better SL and Lucas!

Alice - I love the pictures!

Zalansky - Happy Anniversary! And I love the picture of Cameryn smiling in her adorable outfit!

llij - D&C are no fun at anytime, but I can not imagine having one so soon after a c-section! I have had three over the years and they are very uncomfortable. I wish you a speedier recovery!

I did the vaseline, soft brush, good shampoo route for Aidans cradle cap and we had great success with it.

SL- Hope you both feel better soon!

We got Aidan's Bumbo seat yesterday and I can honestly say it was $ well, well spent. He is so much more comfortable in it than in his carrier. I can see using this for a long long time.

:grouphug: Jill! :grouphug:

you poor thing! I cannot imagine having to deal with what you are dealing with healthwise right now. I'm glad that you were spared from another surgery. Take it easy! Thank God your husband is there taking great care of you and the kiddoes. And I'm glad that John's cleft palate is only going to take one surgery to repair- that is definitely a blessing.

Bridget- I had never seen one of those seats before- intersting!

Val- I don't think I would worry about the rolling quite yet, but maybe if you kind of help her through the motions of rolling, she'll like it and be more motivated to try it on her own? :confused3 It seems like any time I stressed over some milestone my kids didn't achieve when I thought they should, I regretted (stressing about it) it later- like, both my sons were slow talkers (esp #2) but now I can't do a thing to get him to SHUT UP! :rotfl:

DH wrote yesterday that another guy in his platoon has his marriage falling apart- this is the 2nd guy in his platoon of only 6! His wife got a boyfriend and is filing for divorce on Monday. Real classy. It just angers me when I hear of women doing this- I mean, we don't sign on for marriage for when it's only convenient for us. The "worse" part in "for better or for worse" isn't just there for drama. I worked with someone during the first year of the Iraq war, when my DH was still home and her husband was over there; she was a basketcase- so needy, so dramatic all the time. She told me she 'just couldn't live this long without a man and sex' so she got a boyfriend. Yeah, and she had two grade school children too and didn't hide the affair from them. I was so angry with her I could have spit. I tried to get her fired, not for that deed, but because she was carrying on the affair with one of our clients- definitely a no-no. I'm not saying this whole deployment thing is easy, cause it's not, but have some dignity people!

SL- hope you are feeling better soon! :wizard:

2sweetangels - good luck with the cradle cap!

Great picture Alice!

lilj - I'm so sorry to hear you ended up back in the hospital! I hope you have a speedy recovery.

SL - I hope you are feeling better soon.

bellacam - Aidan is so cute in his seat!

No great news on Tyler's rash. One day it seems better and then that night he'll wake up screaming and itching his head and rubbing his eyes. My heart just breaks for him.

We are going to visit my Grandma for her birthday today. It always brightens her day to see Tyler.

Talk to you all later!

Tamie

Hi, everyone! Well today is the last day to sign up for the baby Christmas exchange. So far we have 12 of us in the exchange which is more than I had originally expected so that's great! :cheer2: But we would love to have any other moms join us that haven't done so already. I will take signups until 5 p.m (6 p.m. eastern) today. Signups are officially closed after 5 so send me a PM ASAP if you plan to join us! I will have dh draw names randomly for me tonight and I will PM all that are participating tomorrow so keep an eye out for your PM and your person's name. I will include additional info. in your PM as well. Anyway, for any last minute mommies that want to join please PM me the following and I will add your baby in the exchange:

1.Baby's name
2.Address
3.Baby's age
4.What size clothing baby will be in around December or what size clothing you'd prefer to receive.
5.Any notes you wish to include such as if there is some type of toys you wouldn't mind having or if their is something you wouldn't want your child to have, any known allergies, if you'd prefer toys over clothes or vice versa. Basically anything you feel is important for your person to know. If you have no prefererence in what you receive just don't include any notes. And don't send too many notes or it will take the fun out of shopping for your baby. 1-2 notes should be fine though.
6. Are you willing to ship internationally? We have one mom from the UK in this exchange and I plan to randomly draw names. I don't want to assign her to somebody who doesn't want to ship internationally so just let me know.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me! And if any that have told me they are participating need to back out for ANY reason (and no, I don't need an explanation!) now is the time to do it!

I haven't been on here in a couple of days so I am playing catch up once again so I apologize in advance for anyone I miss!

zalansky~ Happy belated 5th anniversary! My 6th anniversary is this month too...the 27th! I used to love going to Busch Gardens when I lived in FL. We went there more than WDW actually. Anyway, I hope your dh is feeling better and that you still had a great anniversary!

Alice~ Great pic of you and your dh! I can't wait till you are posting that he is home!

Jill~ I am sorry your recovery has been rough! I hope it starts getting better now!

SL~ I bought Kylie one of those booster highchairs and used it yesterday and so far she seems to like it and it is so much easier than a regular highchair! I hope you and Lucas are feeling better today!

vald~ No major advice really about the rolling, but maybe you could put a toy that she likes to the side of her just out of reach. Kylie is what I call "a professional roller" and if a toy is out of her reach she will simply roll across the room to get to it, lol! It's worth a shot! But like Alice said all babies develop and learn differently so I wouldn't worry too much if she isn't rolling yet.

bellacam~ Love the pic of Aidan in his seat! He looks content!

Well, this weekend went by so fast but I was very busy! The yard sale was a great success and lasted longer than we expected. I left my house at 4 a.m. and did not get home that night until almost 8 p.m. and dh had Kylie in bed by the time I got home so I did not get to see Kylie until the next morning! I did not see my baby for an entire 36 hours! Anyway, the yard sale went on until 5 p.m. and after it was done we still had boxes of toys left. I was headed to Toys R Us on my way home anyway so I told my mom that they were taking toys for Toys for Tots. She liked the idea of donating to them so we loaded both of our cars full of boxes of toys. It literally took up both of our front seats, back seats, and trunks! We had tons of toys! Toys R Us knew we were coming in advance and we told them we had a lot but they were still surprised to see how much we actually had! They were so nice and helpful and appreciative though and it was a nice feeling to know we were donating so much to kids that could use it. Some of the toys were like brand new and still very popular. My brother was one spoiled kid, what can I say? He is 16 now though and past the toys phase which is why my mom finally decided to sell it all.

We did have a few weird people show up at the yardsale though. One woman, I swear she wasn't all there mentally, was really weird. Basically she showed up wearing a shirt that said "World's best Dad" :confused3 and then said and did some strange things. It ended with her asking my mom if she could give her phone number to her. My mom looked baffled but said sure and humored the lady by taking her name and phone number (which she later threw away). Then the lady started talking about how she went to people's houses and offered to do yardsales for them and if my mom would just call her she would sell stuff for her. You had to be there but she was just strange! There was also a lady who was looking for kids' toys that made noise for her DOG!

Anyway, you would never know it's the middle of November here as it is still hot! I ended up with a terrible sunburn that literally hurts like hell on my face just from sitting in the yard on Saturday!

Yesterday we had Kylie's pictures made and they turned out great! We did them at Walmart again since her 2 month pictures turned out so well. She smiled in every pose and we did not have to redo any and I was very happy with them. I should get those back on December 2. I bought every pose (7 altogether) and got a total of 1- 10X13, 3- 8X10s, 12- 5x7s, 2- 3.5X5s, and 46 wallets for only $86!!! :cool1: You simply cannot beat that...especially for how well they turned out!

Then we went to dh's grandmother's house. Now I love her most of the time but she is awful about trying to tell dh and me how to raise Kylie and tries to make us feel we are doing everything wrong since we do things differently than she did 60 years ago when she was raising her own kids! Yesterday she was especially being a PITA but oh, well. Kylie seems to really love her though so I let it go! She is an elderly southern woman and if you have ever met an elderly southern woman (or man for that matter!) they are definitely set in their ways so I just humor her and agree with her and then do things my own way anyway. :teeth:

Well, have a great day everyone! I will check my PMs this evening!
