Yeah Robin! It's getting soooo close!!!! I agree with t16gem - we better not see you much on here when your hubby gets home! You have a lot of lost time to make up for!!!

DisneyEnthusiast - Hi! Nice to see you again. Great pictures. Your kids are gorgeous and I love the view as well.

lissawynn- Congrats on the too big jeans! We leave for WDW in 37 days and I'm on a mission to fit back into a couple of things that I don't look so good in right now. Great job!

zalansky - Sorry to hear you all are sick now too! I hope you are the last ones!

vald - I'm glad to hear you are feeling a little better. LOL about your husband, I'm not sure what you can do! Maybe leave a little sign by the sink that says "If there are dishes in here, wash them!" ;)

diskim - Pretty low key New Years. My mom and dad are watching Tyler and we are heading out to the fish house. OMG, I can't believe I just told you guys that. It sounds a little trashy to say we are spending the night in a fish house. :) My mom gave the guys in the family a permanent fish house for Christmas. It's heated, has bunks, water, toilet, oven, etc. DH is so darn excited about it and wants to go and spend the night out there. It will actually be very quiet and maybe even fun.

DisneyPhd - Have fun in WDW!! LOL about the bras! I heard that VS's big sale starts Jan. 3rd, so I'm heading there then to shop the clearance bins. I don't wear anything but underwire, but I can see how if you aren't used them it might be uncomfortable. I also don't have much to hold up, so there isn't much strain put on the wires! lol I'm glad you were able to find something though. I think I might need to be measured too.

Gotta run - I'm trying to get my Ipod to charge and it's not working. I'm getting a little irritated!

Tamie

I think Lucas is sick again. He was kind of stuffy yesterday but I thought it was probably his teeth. Last night, he woke up about 3 or 4 times and this morning has a nasty cough. DH wants to call the doctor, so I told him to go ahead. I'm at work right now and I'm SO tired so I apologize if I don't make any sense!

Disney Enthusiast - Nice to see you. Great Christmas pictures!

lissawynn - Hope you found some jeans at Old Navy. I bought a pair yesterday and they were only $20. I hate shopping for pants because my legs are one size and my waist is another, so they're either really baggy around the butt and legs or tight around the waist. I went for tight around the waist as an incentive to tone my tummy.

zalansky and vald - I hope you both (and your families) feel better soon!

Alice28 - That is so great that you have a date! It's only a few days away!!!

joats - Glad Jace (and you) made it through the growth spurt.

DisPhD - Have a great time at WDW! I'm jealous. :teeth:

tkyes - My ipod is such a pain sometimes. I can never get itunes to recognize it and when I try to import CDs, the computer shuts down on me.

DisKim - DH, Lucas, and I are supposed to go to my aunt's house for New Year's for a game night, but if Lucas is sick we may just go for a little while.

Morning. Jimmy and I just finished our new ritual. Change diaper, wipe hardened gook from his eyes, use boogie sucker. Can I tell you all just how much he HATES this. I have found that putting on the bathroom rug, pinning his arms to his sides with my knees, and using the sucker is the only way I can do it. He screams until he's puple, but the stuff that's still coming out of his nose...ick! I hope this clears up soon!
DH and I aren't feeling so swell. Sore throats, stuffy noses, etc. I just hope I'm feeling better for next week when I have to go back to school.

Alice- Great news to hear your hubby will be home very soon! You'll have to stop in occassionally and let us know how you're all doing.

DisKim - We spend New Year's Eve at my sister's house. We got tons of seafood and kind of make pigs of ourselves. This year we have to stop in at a friend of DH's for a little before going to my sister's. We spend New Year's Day eating pork and sauerkraut at DH's nana's and then with my family. It stinks that we always have to eat 2x on holidays, but someone would have hurt feeling if we didn't go to their homes.

DisE - I love the TK pic! My oldest sis loves his work. Also, I live about 1 1/2 hours from Harrisburg. That's where one of DH's sisters lives, and we're in Hershey every summer to see Dave Matthews Band.

DisPhD - I love bras from VS! They're the only kind I wear. I worked for them when I was in college, and they say everyone should wear an underwire. For whatever reason it's better for you and your "girls".

joats - Hope you have a great long weekend! Yay on the growth spurt.

DisKim - On what boardwalk will you be spending NYE? I'm in the process of trying to find a house in OC,NJ to rent for our summer vacation.

val - Hope you're feeling better! Being sick stinks.

On the Wiggles - I have never seen them. I know who they are, but my nephew didn't like them. In fact, he told my dad he thought they were h****. I'm sure he heard that from someone but don't know who said it.

Lissawynn - We'll be going to the Seaside boardwalk. DO NOT rent a house there. It is really scummy in the summer. I never go there in the summertime. New Year's Eve is nice becasue it is a non-alcoholic family thing. They have tons of entertainment for the kids and lots of giveaways. The kids also love playing in the arcades. Point Pleasant is really nice but it is a small boardwalk. It is much more family oriented. I would also suggest avoiding Wildwood. It is also kind of scuzzy. I've never been to Ocean City, so I can't help you there. I've heard that it's nice. Cape May is really nice. They have so many cute bed and breakfasts to stay at. Then, you can drive over to Wildwood and go to the boardwalk without having to stay there with all the "riff raff". Long Beach Island is also a really nice family-oriented place. I don't think they have a boardwalk, but they have a place called Fantasy Island that has rides for the kids. They also have the Surflight Theater which does special children's shows during the day. The beaches are really nice there. I live close to there but never go to their beaches because there are no bathrooms, but if you are renting a house there, you should be fine. BTW, I laughed at the image of you wrestling Jimmy on the bathroom flooer with ther boogie sucker. Aidan is the same way. He is a master at turning his head right at the moment that I am about to put the sucker in.

tkyes - When you said "fish house", I was thinking you were talking about a restaurant at first.

I hope all you sick mommies and babies feel better soon. I'm sure my kids will all get sick again just in time for school.

I am seriously going to be in trouble next week when I have to go back to work. I don't seem to be able to get myself and the kids dressed before 11 am. I don't know what to do with them today. I might drop Aidan at Grandma's and take them to see Narnia. Well, have a great day everybody!

Good morning ladies (and babies)!

Add Mike, Lily and me to the sickies list. When our neighbor's son left the other day, I collapsed. Mike came home to Lily and me crashed on our bed. I had a 101 fever and she was all boogery. Basically, we've spent the last two days sleeping, taking tylenol and drinking bottles and/or sprite. Hubby still went to work even though he felt like crud. He gave 3 of his employees the week off so he needed to go in. :guilty: Needless to say, LIly doesn't like the boogie ball either. If I don't she blows boogie bubbles from her nose and that grosses me out.

I am glad that everyone had good holidays for the most part. I also offer condolences on the weird family issues... . My family has thier share. I had 22 people her for Christmas but was only planning for 17. Nice, huh? My BIL's family doesn't believe in RSVPing. The day before Xmas eve, they weren't supposed to be coming. We do stockings for everyone, so it was kind of embarrassing that we didn't have stockings for the five of them.

I've finally cleaned the disaster that was left. Apparently, someone spilled wine in/on some of my holiday decorations that were in the living room as well as on the carpet and didn't tell me. The flowers and what not are stuck together and my carpet is pink!!!! I just about hit the roof. I think it was my MIL as she was sitting there when we were opening presents. My sis's MIL spilled her dinner all over my family room carpet and on the sofa in there, but at least she told me about it so I could pretreat the spots. UGH family!!

The gifts were outrageous! Lily was definately spoiled, as were all the kids (except for the one whose family didn't RSVP -- It was my sis's sil's bf's son, so I wouldn't have gotten him a gift otherwise). However, I think it was too much. With so many people being there, no one watched what everyone else was getting. It was a mad house of people opening gifts. I was busy passing gifts out as the hostess and hubby was videotaping. My SIL and neice were helping Lily open her gifts. SIL tried to keep the tags with the gifts so I could keep track of who gave her what but I really wish Mike or I were helping her. I wish I had thought it out better then I could've been with Lily myself.

Channukah was the following Tuesday with just Mike's family. Other than staying out too late it was really nice which is a rarity with my inlaws. We ordered in Chinese food and the desserts were leftovers from Christmas. Very laid back and that was nice.

Now its Friday and I have to start getting ready to go back to work next week. UGH!! This break was a complete waste -- no free time at all. Before Christmas Eve, I had to do all the shopping and clean the house. After Christmas, we were sick. Now I have papers to grade before Tuesday.

I go back to the University the week following to complete my clinical hours. That will be two days a week this semester from 4 to 9 p.m. Then I'll be done with all the classwork. I'm really excited about this because I applied for a district reading specialist position for next year. Cross your fingers. They are calling back for interviews next month. I know it would have its own stresses, but I think anything will be easier than this year with the school takeover and the meetings and workshops during my maternity leave.

Anyway, is anyone here doing a weight loss resolution? I'm going to go back on WW for the new year. I actually lost my prego weight after Lily was born and have gained it back plus some. I have no muscle tone anymore. Honey says we can go buy a treadmill and then we are going to get a family membership at the Y near us. Hopefully this will be enough of an incentive.

I guess I'll stop chatting everyone's ears off and go fold laundry.

Gretchen

Hi everyone, I have just been to the hairdressers for the first time since August! Boy it was so nice to get out and be pampered my mom and dad came over to look after Shelby, it's not like they need much persuading though.

Gretchen - I am doing WW at the moment - I have about 28lbs to lose to get back to my pre pregnancy weight - I think I picked the wrong time of year to go though as I am findning it difficult.

I was just wondering where you guys got your boogie suckers from? I have never seen one - but maybe I'm not looking in the right kind of places!!
I guess I have been lucky that Shelby hasn't caught any kind of cold etc yet but I'm thinking that maybe I should get one of these things in "just in case!"

Lisawynn - we've used Monihan Realty the three years we rented in OC ('03 - '05). They have everything from low end to high end. I have to say we went with my Brother's family and with 7 of us at the time, we always rented a 4 bedroom and went off-peak when we could before their oldest went to school. One year, we got an oceanfront palace the 2nd week of September for $1800 a week ($900 each).

I agree that the Seaside boardwalk is sort of seedy, however I have to admit that I love that place. We went every summer to Lavallette (Ocean Beach) and I grew up on that boardwalk. My son likes the kiddie rides at the southern end of the Boardwalk. I also like the Point Pleasant Boardwalk, but mostly for Martells Tiki bar in the summer for the Pina Colada's!

GWCOLLINS - I signed up for the WISH board 7 pounds in 7 weeks (Valentines Day challenge). I've just started really hitting the gym 4 nights a week, but the weight is coming off a lot slower this time. I also love any salty foods, which doesn't help. I ate a whole can of those French's Fried Onions in 2 days - the ones you top the green bean casserole with. They are so crunchy and tasty.

Gems - the bulb aspirators can be found here in any Target or Wal-Mart or even a KidsRus. If you really wanted one, i'd mail you one if you can't find one in England. Sometimes they're a real life saver.

I just love looking at all of the family pictures, I appreciate everyone sharing them.

Tomorrow we're going to my friend's house for New Years - she's got kids the same ages as mine. We've been seeing her for about 6 years now. Last year, we stayed up until 12:02 and left, but I think this year we'll be leaving earlier and we'll be home in bed before 12.

Hope everyone who has been sick is feeling better soon. Happy New Year everyone!

I really need to do WW or SOMETHING this next year. I really have to lose 25 pounds to be considered 'healthy' again. I don't care about skinny, will never get there; I just want to drop the 25 pounds I have put on since having children. Right now I can totally confess to stress eating- with DH gone, I find myself grazing on food all darn day. And not apples and carrots either (sometimes, but more like a cookie here, handful of crackers there, some chips tossed in---not binging, but not good either).

You guys are popping my Wiggles bubble. ;) Watched them this morning with the kids, and was smiling and tapping my toe along with them. I think their music is catchy and not even on par with the sugary sweet sappiness of Barney.

I definitely don't plan on posting much after DH gets home. But I will still pop in now and again, I am sure. I need my internet! And DH does too, and he has his laptop over there with him, so I'm sure we will both take some downtime each day and log on for a bit. Gotta love wireless.

lissawynn- I LOLed when you said your mother said to be sure to buy some underwear for your weekend away with your previous boyfriend. Before my honeymoon (although I wasn't exactly virginal) my mom said, "Be sure you bring some KY or something- you may get a little sore down there with all your 'honeymooning'." :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: I was like MOM!!!!

I'm sorry so many of us are sick. :guilty: Knock wood, we're all healthy here, although Molly has been a HUGELY crabby baby at naptime/bedtime. I mean SCREAMING for 45 minutes when I put her in a her crib. I don't know what to do! :confused3 DH would take over with the boys at this point, and when they say him come in the room to comfort them, they would settle down and just take the bottle or whatever (a bottle of very diluted formula). But when they knew it was me, they would continue the fit cause they wanted MOMMA (AKA ****ies). I'm thinking the same thing with Miss M. My mom was here the other day when she was making herself purple with the screaming and she went it, handed her her bottle that she tossed aside, laid her down again, put the blankie on her, and she went to sleep! It's enough to make me go crazy. It's amazing that they already know how to be manipulative (in a sense) at 9-10 months.

Anyway, I am going to put the rest of the Christmas stuff away and tidy up. I got an anonymous gift card in the mail yesterday, mailed by the Family Program, but just saying from 'your grateful friends and neighbors." So now I have $50 to play around with at WalMart! I swear, people are so generous here in the Portland area, it stuns me! (I know, sounding like a broken record again).

Gems----the nasal aspirator may have been something you saw the nurses/doctors use in the hospital when you had Shelby. It's just a rubber bulb thingee and I've always just taken mine from the hospital cause they don't reuse them with the next baby! I am sure you could find one at a drugstore type place.

I spoke with my mom and Lucas seems to be feeling better. We're speculating that his cough is from post-nasal drip and his stuffiness is probably due to teething. He's in good spirits and is eating really well. Good thing!

Gretchen - I'd be LIVID if someone spilled all over my living room and didn't bother to let me know. It's one of the reasons I don't host many parties. I don't trust people not to make a mess and I hate putting the clean-up off. I end up missing half the party because I have to get the dishes done or something.

I'm not doing any type of "official" weight loss program, I just want to lose my tummy fat. I'm going to try to start walking more, drink more water, and hopefully I can fit some Pilates in. If that doesn't work, I'll have to rethink my method.

Hi everyone!

New Years plans - we are going out tomorrow night for dinner with another couple, minus the children. It will be nice to eat my own dinner without having to cut up anyone else's. But, our plans are for 6pm so we will be home well before midnight to watch Dick Clark and I am sure I'll be in bed well before midnight as well.

I think I need to clarify my Wiggle obsession so everyone doesn't think I am insane for finding a Wiggle attractive with all the hunky actors out there! When Connor was digging the Wiggles, they were on in the mornings at least two times...and I'd sit and watch tv along with him while we played etc. Well, when all that I saw was basically toddler shows and the only men I was seeing on tv were the Wiggles, I didn't find them half bad! Since Connor has moved on and no longer watches them, I too have moved on and have formed a new obsession for Dr. McDreamy on Grey's Anatomy! We also saw Batman Begins recently and that Christian Bale can save me anyday!

I am debating booking a DCL cruise. My only hesitation right now is do we do 4 days, or 7? I am leaning towards 4 because I worry that it (7days) will be too much on little Cameryn - even though I am looking to go when she is about a year old. I worry that she'd suffer from seperation anxiety if we took her to the nursery and that would make for a unpleasant time for all....but we've been on 2 Disney cruises and loved them, and I am really needing something to look forward to this year! Connor was 9 months old that last time we went and he was fine. It was just alot of work for us. Geez, maybe I'll just wait and see of they release FL resident rates.

I am sure this has been asked many, many times...but does anyone have any advice on helping the baby sleep longer at night? Cam will be 4 months old in 2 weeks and still gets up twice a night for feedings. We called the ped last week and they told us to start diluting her formula at night and eventually not pick her up at all, etc. Well, that isn't working because she gets up an hour after eating the diluted formula because she wants food! I am debating trying cereal before bed because the ped will start her on it anyway in 2 weeks. We are just so sleep deprived and are desperate for anything to work! Even if she gets up one time, that's fine...but twice!

Anyway, that's it for now. Hope you all have a wonderful New Year if I don't pop back on (yeah right) and see you next year!

Zalanksky- Shelby has been sleeping through the night for the past few weeks now - she even went 12 hours last night which was excellent! The turning point for us really was that she wasn't satisfied with the 1st stage formula especially when I stopped b/f as well, she was taking 6 oz bottles of it every hours which was an absolute nightmare. I asked about the 2nd stage formula for hungrier babies and they suggested just giving her this on the last feed before we go to be - e.g at the 10 pm feed. We started to do this and she started off at 6 hour intervals on a 6oz bottle, now she usually goes from 10/11pm to about 6/7am which I can cope with - I don't think it's the lack of sleep that's the problem more that it's broken sleep all of the time. Also if Shelby wakes before 6 or 7 i usually assume that she is just thirsty and give her a drop of cooled boiled water - that usually settles her for another couple of hours, plus it's easy to keep a bottle of water at the side of the bed and just give it to her while I'm half asleep!!

Good luck with Cameryn, I hope you can get her to sleep. :grouphug:

Cute new pic of Lucas! Love it!

Hmmmmmmmmm.....tough debate Loretta- I wish I could debate how long to take my Disney Cruise for! ;) I think I would go for the 4 day too; but do you get to squeeze in a few nights at the World too? I've never been on a Cruise, so I don't know if I would love it, or find myself wanting to get off the ship to be on land. :confused3

New Year's Eve- mom and dad are coming over and we're having appetizer night. Nothing too big. That's ok.

Baby sleeping longer at night- oh boy. Sometimes I think I know, and then my children just prove me wrong. Molly still gets up twice a night sometimes! I would start her on cereal once she turns 4 months & feed her a little bit right before bedtime, so her tummy is fuller. (if she likes it anyway). And I wouldn't dilute the bottle necessarily, because if she REALLY is hungry, that's not going to help the sleeping longer. Although I bet your doctor said that so she would realize a diluted bottle isn't worth getting up for. I'm guilty of loading up the nighttime bottle (prebedtime) with a little EXTRA formula, like just give two heaping scoops versus just two scoops. It seems to help Molly on normal nights (when she is not congested, etc). Good luck!

Well, my knock wood didn't work. On the way to WalMart, DS4 threw up all over the car. :guilty: He was FINE beforehand and seems fine now, but I'm not so sure. We seem to have the curse of the new Year's Eve barfs in this house...two years ago we had a NIGHTMARE of a time with the stomach flu on New Year's.

I'm going to make him some Jello I think.

Oh, and REAL celebrities I think are hot, so you don't think I'm totally insane are Luke Wilson & Vince Vaughn. Esp the first one! Hot!Hot!Hot!

Our plans for tomorrow night are pretty boring. I'm baby-sitting my dneice and we are going to make homemade pizzas and ice cream sundaes with the kids. We'll probably all be asleep before midnight. The next day DH and I are going to the Patriot/Dolphins football game so that will be a long cold day.

Baby sleeping longer: If she is getting up and eating twice a night then I would assume she is really hungry and needs the formula. I remember Katie would wake up and eat three sips and then pass back out. That's when I knew she didn't really need it, she just was using it as comfort to go back to sleep. I would try her on some cereal at night since she is so close to 4 months anyway. I hope it helps. Once a night is so much easier to manage than twice a night.

DH and I are also going to try and lose some weight in the New Year. I don't know that we will follow any specific plan per se, but more just healthier eating.

SL,
Love that new picture in your siggie!

Happy New Year everyone if I don't get back here until after Sunday :wave2: !

Zalansky: when I was having trouble getting Jace to sleep thru the night I got great ideas on this board. Do you swaddle her? Do you have any kind of white noise? These two things have been life savers. We just two nights ago stopped swaddling Jace as he'd wake up with the legs and arms out with it tightly wrapped around his middle:rotfl:. I bought a "baby's 1st white noise CD" online and play it all night on repeat for him. Except for this past week/growth spurt, Jace typically sleeps 10-12 hours per night since about 4 months. I also stack his nighttime meals closer together (I do a 3:30, 5:15 and then 6:30). Hope you will find something that works. Good luck!!

Robin: Love Luke Wilson/Vince Vaughn!!! I'm also a big fan of John Cusack and Jim Carrey. I don't like your typical pretty boy. Brad and Tom do nothing for me! Also, I'm so happy to see your countown timer these days!!

Gems: I've never heard of 1st stage and 2nd stage formula. Interesting..maybe I'm just out of the loop on that one.

We're not doing anything for New Years and that's ok by me. Last year I fell asleep at 8pm so anything later this year will be a big deal. LOL!!

Weight loss: ARGH!!! I lost all my pregnancy weight by my 2nd week Dr. follow up appt. I even went lower than my pre-weight. However, since I've been back to work I've gained about 8 pounds and I was already a pretty chunky gal. I will be in a wedding this summer and I'm already stressing about having to get into a bridesmaid's dress. I have to do something, somehow.

Question for you guys: At what age do babies start to get some separation issues? Jace has been so clingy with me lately. He always wants me to hold him, me to feed him, etc. He'll cry w/other people and the minute I take him he's fine. Before bed, he'll cry when DH holds him until I take him then he stops crying instantly. Should this be happening already??? I didn't think this happened so soon.

Well, TGIF!! Hope you all have a safe and happy New Year if I don't get back on before then.

I know we have have talked about this in length, and if you find something that works please let me know. We're still in the "up 2 times" club. I was wondering about the diluting of formula, I was debating trying water, but I figured he'd just scream louder and it wasn't worth it.

We've also got the white noise, swaddle, room darkening roller shades, etc....going, so i'm thinking just like you are that food may be the next step to get these babies sleeping. It's very rough getting up twice a night. I am so surprised one of us hasn't fallen down the stairs yet in the night getting formula out of the fridge and heating it while we're sleepwalking. Dh and I usually trade off the feedings - Liam goes down at 8pm and DH will take the 12 and i'll take the 3 am, but you still are waking up all the time and never get more than a 2 or 3 hour stretch - hardly enough sleep to function.

Of course what makes it worse is that people say "they're eating way too much food" so you just end up feeling worse about the situation. I don't want my son to become a Blimp by eating 45 oz of formula a day, but the child is just HUNGRY during the night.

Well, keep me posted as I will you if we luck out and get a 7 hour stretch one of these nights.

Just had to comment to Alice28 about the honeymoonitis comment - LOL.

I read an interesting article about 4 month olds. It's around this age that they start to doscover things and are more easily distracted during feedings. Someone walks into a room they unlatch a crane their neck to see who it is. Because they do this they are eating less during the day and making up for it at night.

Eli has just started getting better the last week or so. He turned 5 months on the 24th. :) Hang in there, there is a light at the end! :)

I'm off the DIS for a few hours and so much to respond to!

DisKim - I've been going to OC, NJ, every summer since I was born. We love the fact that it's a "dry" town. No one in my family really drinks, so it's never been an issue with us. It's more expensive to stay there mid-summer than peak season at WDW. We're renting a house on the beach and sharing with about 6-8 other people in my family. It will be so much more cost effective in the long run than staying in several rooms of a hotel. I want Jimmy to have fun summers at the shore like I had growing up.

Alice28 - I about died when I read your response about the KY! Too funny! Your mom sounds like mine. We're not exactly beat around the bush kind of gals. I hope your son is feeling better.

gems - The best boogie sucker we have is the one from the hospital. I bought another one at Wal-Mart and it just doesn't do the job like the hospital one.

joats - Jimmy has never really had sep. issues. The only people he's ever been left with are my dad, sister, and mom. He isn't such a fan of our extended fam. We had some crying over Christmas when all of his great aunties and uncles wanted to hold him.

val - Have a good time at the football game! Bundle up!

zalansky - I have no advice to give about getting a baby to sleep longer. My little monkey is sleeping with DH and me, and it's driving me nuts! I so wish I could get him to sleep in his crib. Good luck!

SL - Love the new pic of Lucas in the laundry basket. What a cuite pie!

Gretchen - My father's wife once spilled a glass of scotch in my grandmother's baby grand piano. I thought my sister was going to kill her. That's also the same night she peed all over my sister's bathroom floor b/c she was drunk (as usual) and missed the toilet. I hope the wine stain comes out.

Hello Ladies! :wave2:

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this board moves waaaay to fast for me! I can't keep up! :rotfl:

DisneyPhD - Have fun at Disney! I am so jealous, I wish I was going back. :goodvibes

Alice28 - Not too much longer until your DH comes home! I hope that everyone in your household is healthy for when he gets home. Hugs to your poor son for throwing up! I hope he is better soon.

Gretchen - Sorry to hear that your family ruined your carpet. I had a nephew once get into magic markers and decide to color my new carpet one year. My SIL was too embarrased to tell me, but I wish she did so I could try to get the stains out. Oh well.

Gems - I love the pictures of Shelby!

DisneyEnthusiast - :wave2: Hi! Great pictures of your kids. They are such cuties!

Joats - Katie (my 7 yo) had separation issues at 6 months which was a pain. I remember her screaming unless I was around. Thankfully, it didn't last too long and she was fine by 8 months. Good luck to you!

SL - I love the new picture of Lucas in your signature!

Lisawynn - I hope that Jimmy is better soon. It is never fun "sucking" the boogies out of the little babies. John hates it when I use the bulb, but sadly I need to use it often because of his cleft palate. Formula is always going into his nose due to the absence of a closing in the back of his throat. Poor baby.

Zalansky - I loved your Christmas pictures. You look great! That is tough that Cameryn isn't sleeping through the night. Both my girls slept through the night at 10 weeks, but I know that I won't be as lucky with John Paul. He still gets up every 3-4 hours even though he is eating more. I'm longing for a full nights sleep. Let me know if you find something that works.

Hi to Tamie, DisKim and Hillbeans! :wave2:

My DH and I got a chance to go out on a date for the first time since baby was born. We went and saw Harry Potter, but I had to laugh b/c even though I loved the movie I was so tired that I thought I was going to fall asleep. :earboy2:

We finally put John Paul in his crib and he seems to like it. He still gets up a lot at night to eat, but he doesn't get mad about being put in the crib. We are also still fighting the insurance company about John's RSV vaccination. It is so frustrating since we have a family history of muscle problems, asthma and lung issues. The girls used to get pneumonia every year at least twice a year. The doctors are fighting for us so that is great. The insurance company even told us that we were 100% covered, but some other group decided to deny it.

The cranio facial specialists sent us their final report the other day from his visit when he was two weeks old. They put a diagnosis on his cleft palate and said that he has "Pierre Robin Sequence" which basically means that his jaw didn't develop properly in utero thereby not allowing his cleft to close. Babies with this sometimes have breathing difficulties which makes me angrier that the insurance company is denying this. This syndrome sometimes is associated with another genetic condition, but only time will tell. I'm not worried about it though. Anyways, we are set to get his shots next week. I couldn't wait for the insurance appeal anymore so I went ahead and ordered the shots. We are paying out of pocket at the moment which currently is about $1,500 a shot. He will need them each month until April. Yikes! :earseek: It is worth it though, b/c I will do anything to keep John Paul healthy.

Sorry to ramble on ladies! I'm a little sleep deprived and frustrated today. Everyone have a wonderful New Years! We are staying in tomorrow night which is fine with me. :earboy2:

ETA: Hillbeans, I just saw your post and I feel as if our boys are on the same schedule. My DH and I split the feedings as well with DH taking the 11/midnight feeding and me taking the 3 a.m. feeding. I know John is younger than Liam and Cam, but I am just waiting for the day for him to stretch his feedings out just a bit. I also "sleepwalk" in getting the bottle so we put our mini fridge and microwave from our basement into our bathroom. It makes the bathroom very crowded, but I don't walk down the stairs anymore. I'm such a clutz that I know I would fall down. Keep us posted and I'll send some best wishes your way that Liam sleeps soon for you! :wizard:

OK- I have to share another funny thing my mom said- (she said she got this joke from my Grandma- her mother in law). When Molly was born, it was my mom, and two best girlfriends in the room- between my friends and myself, we had had 5 baby boys and this was the first girl. (and then the midwife and two nurses were in the room too). Anyway, Molly comes out, and we all double check that, yes, she's a girl alright! And I mumble something about, "Wow....no ***** (male genitalia in case I get bleeped) this time!" And my MOTHER says, "Nope, but she has a mighty fine place to put one!"

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: I JUST ABOUT DIED and my girlfriends were red with laughter! The nurses thought she was pretty darn funny too. I was like, "MOTHER! I don't want to think about that for 20 years! At least 18 anyway!" And that's when she said, "I first heard that from your GRANDMOTHER, so don't rag on me too much!"

Yep, my mom is a funny one....with a potty mouth! :rotfl: :rotfl:
