The Official New Mom Thread Part 2

Hey all! Just a quick post as I'm procrastinating again--at least the kids are packed! I just saw my mom and Santa came early for me this year! Woohoo--don't think many of ya'll would get as excited about this gift as I was, but it's a wrist-top GPS for running, tracks distance, calories burned, pace--and can get you home if you get lost. And WAY too expensive! But I'm not complaining--now I really want to open it and play around--but back to packing and cleaning I go!

Icebrat- Tess is so cute!

Zalansky- That house looks incredible. It would cost at least $900K around me. Ridiculous, I know!

Jill- Glad you guys were able to make it to WDW after all!!!

Dizagain- Carson is getting to be such a big boy! He’s almost Olivia’s size and she’s already 8 months. DBro was like that. He’s still in the 95th percentile for height and weight. Poor little guy is always mistaken for a bigger kid, so we have to keep remembering he’s only 3.

Hermosa- Glad your SIL is doing well with the new baby. I hope your DD gets out of the PPD quickly. Just make sure she mentions it to her doctor.

Tykes- Sorry about the ipod!!! That totally sounds like something I would do, which is why I stray away from little electronic things.

Nucpharm- Wrist-top GPS sounds awesome.

Well, we’re home! It was a tough couple of days at the end there, because DH got really sick and our family had already left. I have to say a BIG I’M SORRY!!! to everyone I was going to send postcards to. I planned to do it at the end of the vacation, once the family had left, but didn’t count on DH being so sick. Olivia had a tough night as well, and I had to do all the packing and cleaning up on my own.

I miss WDW already, though it was nice to see our house again and to sleep in our bed. Livvie and I have colds, but we’re doing ok. I have a client coming in today to finish a job for, so I should be getting a nice sized check :)

Robin- I picked up a copy of the kids menu from Nine Dragons. I’d tell you what is on it, but I left it at home with the luggage. I also checked out the self-serve Dole Whip machine at the Poly. It’s there and it counts as a snack credit on the dining plan.

OK, I really have to get to work on this paperwork for tonight. DH is in the process of getting our photos onto the computer so I can finally start posting my trip report. It’s going to be a LONG one!

Just have a second...

I wanted to let all of you know that I received a great response to my PM(from about a month ago) and I plan on sending the items soon so PM me if you still want to take part. :thumbsup2

DH is home today and has been doing some Christmas shopping.

Robin,

He knows about the bike. I had to tell him when Kona had to go to the Dr. in Orlando because we couldn't go the day we were scheduled to (I had told him there was an open house that day.) I was feeling really emotional and splled the beans. He was very happy and still doesn't believe it's true.

Hi to everyone!!

Be back later to get caught up.

Fab- it's also a space thing for us with gifts. But the boys are hardly getting any toys this year- they are each getting a PS2 game, lots of books, Josh is getting a bunch of action figures, but they could literally all fit in a shoe box, Sam the keyboard and an ipod shuffle, a light saber each and I can't remember what else....oh, another little hand held game. Molly is getting quite a few toys, but at least she has her own bedroom and it's a nice sized one at that. You cracked me up with the floating bits o fish comment. :rotfl2:

Tamie- I TOTALLY would do something like that- don't feel too bad. My kids ruined a Leapster 1.5 years ago when I wasn't paying attention. I was laying in bed, wallowing in my misery of being pregnant and DH not being here, they were in the bathtub 6 feet away...I heard one of them get in, get out, I Thought, "Hmmmm.." get my fat butt out of bed and lo and behold the Leapster was submerged in the tub. If I had been sitting in the bathroom with them, like a good mommy, that wouldn't have happened. And then when stuff like that happens, I get really down on myself, sometimes about money, cause I can't always afford to run out and replace things that get ruined. It will be OK. I bought Sam a refurbished shuffle at apple.com for $59...maybe you could get one that way?

Kim- that's a short Christmas break! I am sorry the puppy is not going to work out, but you and your DH know better than anyone if Emily is ready for that kind of responsibility or not, and it sounds like she's not quite there yet. I hope you can get some of your $$ back on the dog stuff.

GM- I'm sorry your DH was sick at WDW! Hopefully he is better now. Don't even sweat it about the postcards- I had forgotten about it! Were you able to eat at Nine Dragons? Was it good? I'm willing to try it since we're on the dining plan- I've heard it's tasty!

Hermosa- I hope your DD is hanging in there and doesn't have the baby blues for too long. I would say I had it a week or two after my second was born, but not after my 1st or 3rd....I'll keep her in my thoughts.

Ice- how's it going today?

Nuc- sounds like you got a really neat gift! Just perfect for the Exercise Goddess!

GLT- I hope your trip to Ohio goes OK. And that your xDH will watch the dog for you. Do you have the biggest pile of gifts for the kids, or what? :goodvibes Well, maybe not the biggest pile, but a nice amount I hope!

SL- I'm so sorry you got the stomach bug. :guilty: I hope you are taking it easy and not too ill today. :grouphug:

Jill- I hope you are well on your way to WDW! :wizard:

FF- Glad Dh is excited about the bike! That's neat!

My sinuses still hurt. I gave myself a shot yesterday cause I knew I should get it over with while Molly was napping. It kinda helped, but not really, so then I realized I was dealing with sinus crap for sure, not the edge of a migraine, cause it ALWAYS kills my migraines. I still feel kinda crummy today. I'm thinking I will soak a towel in hot water and lay it on my face in a bit. My nasal sinuses are OK, but it's those ones in my forehead and cheek bones that ache. Sudafed helped dry me out, but they still hurt. I don't think it's an infection though- I haven't been stuffed up enough and it's not colored.

ANYWAY, enough about my snot.

I'm going to go find out what Molly's doing....it's too quiet.

Oh PS- happy news for me- DH is going to take the boys to work with him for 30-60 minutes tomorrow morning so I can quickly stop at the mall close by his work and shop at Gymboree in relative peace (the boys HATE it and make their annoyance with it loud and clear). They are supposedly starting some sort of sale tomorrow, so I'm hoping to find a bargain or two, plus that swimsuit. :cloud9:

2 more days......I really want to take tomorrow off. I feel like I'm not going to make it. I need a week away from teenagers! They have been so pesky and needy this week. I constantly have a group of 4-5 students at my desk needing something. I would go mental if I didn't have seniors once a day. Plus, I have so much to do before Christmas that I could just cry. I'm going to push through though. I feel bad to waste a day.

Icebrat - :grouphug: I'm sorry your DP got mad at you. It's a difficult adjustment. I'm sure things will get better soon.

Robin - How nice of your DH to take the kids to work for a while. I can't shop with Aidan anymore. He turns into a beast as soon as he hits the shopping cart.

Fab - Madeline sounds like my kids. I always liked having my hour or so in the morning to myself. Now, at least 2 of them always sense me and get up when they hear my footsteps. I must look pretty funny some mornings because I try to creep past their rooms without making any noise.

Tamie - Oh, I do stuff like that all the time. It is so upsetting!

Aidan is being horrible today. His sitter said he was the same way for her. It is not his normal self. He did learn a new work today. When Mickey Mouse Clubhouse ends, he yells "again!". I could deal with a nicer new word but I'll take what I can get. He is really lagging behind in talking still and it makes me nervous. I'm tired of his grunting and screaming. I need to hear some words.

Alice- 9 Dragons was pretty good. I was impressed after reading some pretty bad reviews about it on the dining board. I had the General Tso chicken, which was very different from how they make it back home. It was listed as being spicy, but it wasn't spicy at all though.

Oh, I forgot to mention, DH said it would be OK to do a WDW trip next year!!!
Now I need to figure out when we should go (Oct, Nov or Dec). We had been lamenting the airfare expense, but after JFK demolished our luggage we wound up with a $150 airline voucher, so that's like a free roundtrip ticket taken care of.

Just a quick post. They ended up sending about 6 kids home from Kylie's daycare yesterday with diarrhea (most of them were in the 2 year old class though, not hers). Needless to say, I have decided not to send Kylie back until after Christmas. They are closed next week until the 27th so I probably won't send her until a week from tomorrow. Hopefully the virus will not be going around her daycare anymore after that or else she won't be going that week either. She is fine so far so I don't think she is in danger of catching it again but I'm not willing to take that chance. So much for getting tons done this week. Oh, well, I'd rather she be healthy than that I have a clean house!

Okay, gotta go. Dh is supposed to call at 5 if he is going to have to work late. It's 5 so I need to go. Have a great week ladies!

Add me to the list of "sickies". I had to drive to my work last night at 3 in the morning to get my ear drops on my desk (don't ask why they were there in the first place :confused3 ). I've had a nagging cough for days and during the night last night my cough settled into my right ear and it was so painful I had to get my antibiotic because it felt like a pound of pressure in my ear. It doesn't hurt now, but it's clogged shut. I'm feeling a little better now and hope to make it to work tomorrow and my hair appt. after work.

Hope everyone else who was getting sick or has sick kiddies feels better soon. We all need to be healthy for Christmas.

GLT - PM sent

Gotta go finish some wrapping!

Have a good night everyone.

Hey ladies--thought you guys would like this!

Dear Santa,

I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my
children on demand, visited the doctor's office more than my doctor,
sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree
on the school playground. I was hoping you could spread my list out
over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my
son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between
cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18
years.

Here are my Christmas wishes:

I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache (in any color, except purple,
which I already have) and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze;
but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy aisle
in the grocery store.

I'd also like a waist , since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh
month of my last pregnancy.

If you're hauling big ticket items this year I'd like fingerprint
resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television
that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals; and a
refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can
hide to talk on the phone.

On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, "Yes,
Mommy" to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don't
fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the
use of power tools.

I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting "Don't eat in
the living room" and "Take your hands off your brother," because my
voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only
be heard by the dog.

If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough
time to br ush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the
luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being
served in a Styrofoam container.

If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to
brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare
ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would
be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house
without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized
crime family.

Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is ringing and my son saw my feet
under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back.
Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and
come in and dry off so you don't catch cold.

Help yourself to cookies on the table but don't eat too many or leave
crumbs on the carpet.

Yours Always, MOM...!

P.S. One more thing...you can cancel all my requests if you can keep
my children young enough to believe in Santa.

Will try to check in from the IL's! But if you don't hear from me for a while--just away from my laptop! Will I survive????

Hi Gals! Yes, thanks to DIS moms my kids have a wonderful assortment of gifts for Christmas. I'm actually holding onto a few gift cards to see what we will need in the upcoming month(s) -- and if I'm not scraping pennies together for diapers and such then I will use the remaining cards for Spring clothes! :sunny: You ladies are truly helping me get through this and I don't think I could do it without you.

Can I tell you when he called today I had to open DIS cause just seeing this thread gave the strength to get through the call.

As you ladies get Christmas cards from me be be sure to look for little thank you notes, I used the kids' artwork as stationary for my notes. I also realized I'm missing addresses for FF, Nucpharm and GM - if you think of it please PM me so I can send you a thank you and card!

Nucpharm - when do you leave for Ohio?

GM - so sorry about the luggage! Cool on the $$ though!

Hillbeans - ick about the 3 a.m. drive, I'm sorry you are feeling so miserable. I hope you feel better soon! :wizard:

Jill - Here's hoping you are in Disney : :cheer2: :

Tasha - that stomach thing seems to be everywhere, if we don't get it it would be an absolute miracle. Have fun spending time with Kylie.

Diskim - hang in there :grouphug: Hopefully a holiday break is just what you need. Leif doesn't really say any words either, but aga -- his term for again -- is a constant. And he will sign "more" and "all done" but that's about it...I won't complain, DS was the same way until he hit 2 and now I can't get him to stop  but I love him tons and tons!! :lovestruc

Robin - that swimsuit is adorable, I hope you can find it!! I also hope you feel better soon. Get some rest.

FF - Hope you are having a great day.

Tamie - Hi, assuming we are still going a friend down the street and her husband offered to take care of the dog (and feed the cat, which I forgot to mention to them  ) and either they or my neighbor across the street will take in the mail. It's a 10-12 hour drive - ick.

Hermosa - so sorry DD is going through PPD. Continue to give her support and encourage her to get help. Congrats on the beautiful baby.

Icebrat - how are you holding up as a new mom?

OK, must get some rest. :grouphug: I love you Moms, truly. I cannot begin to thank you all for your support and kindness and generosity, it's truly astounding and appreciated!! :cloud9:

Hillary- that is awful that you had to drive to work at 3AM to get your meds- you poor thing! :grouphug:

GLT- once again, I'm just going to keep my big mouth shut about your xDH. :furious: We love ya!

GM- too cool about being able to plan a WDW trip next year- love the planning!

I still feel crummy. DH came home early, around 4:30, so I could go to bed. He didn't do the greatest job with Molly, but what can I say- he tried. She's a terror sometimes. I dozed from about 5:30-9, just awful sinus pain and headaches. I woke up and the pain was mostly in my migraine 'spot', so he gave me another shot. Now I feel better, but my teeth still ache from my sinuses being stuffy and I still have the edge of a headache. I give up.

My neighbor brought us over some KFC so I didn't have to worry about dinner- I guess they've been getting dinners nightly from friends and church folk and she said they just can't fit any more in the fridge and did I want the KFC- what a blessing! Drumsticks, biscuits and carrots from the fridge was dinner tonight right around the time DH came home. I had given her some Enfamil that was sent to me the other day earlier in the day; somehow I got on a list that I was expecting a baby, as I've been getting formula and coupons...WTH? :confused3

OK, well, I'm off to bed. It's so cold here- I think if it were just a few degrees colder, the rain I hear falling outside would be snowflakes. :cold:

I should go to bed for real now.

Quick minute. Carson happened to sleep in until 7:15 when DH woke me up to take him to the train station - he had forgotten he had to go in today for a meeting. Anyway, Hannah woke up in the nick of time to feed Carson while I made the station run. So, both kids are happy and Hayley is still sleeping which is what almost-13-year-olds do I guess.

Great news yesterday - there was a communication error and the company WILL buy our house if we want them to! SO they are actually doing their appraisals, etc. this week so we'll know what their offer is. I'm guessing it will come in right around what we originally paid so we'll probably still keep it on the market through January just to see what happens. But we're setting our moving goal for February 15th! I'm driving all three kids to Memphis BY MYSELF the weekend after New Year's to meet Tim there and look at houses. My mom is coming up to stay with Carson at the hotel while we look. Then Tim will drive back with me...its like a 10 hour drive. Not looking forward to it, but it must be done. There is a Residece Inn in the area we'll be looking, so I'll have a kitchen for Carson's bottles. I'm mostly concerned with packing all the STUFF - I may have to buy an umbrella stroller cause ours is too big. I think he'd do ok in it for a little while. I'll worry about it next week I guess. I'm excited!

GLT - Oh, that man!!!!! I'm sorry it's so difficult - maybe you can talk to the lawyer and find a way to get out of town anyway. Double :grouphug:

robin - hope you're feeling better today - are the boys out of school today? That was nice of your neighbor to bring KFC and start PG rumors about you! ;)

nucpharm - like the letter! VERY cute! Have a fun holiday with the IL's!

hillbeans - feel better soon!!!!

tasha - smart move - I'd keep my kids home too. Hayley was sick her 2nd Christmas and it was awful.

ginamarie - woo hoo on the WDW trip - now you get the fun of planning all over again! I just will not make it until 2008.

WELL, Carson has decided he's not happy after all. But I'll try to check in later. We have a couple of people coming through the house today - not potential buyers (not expecting any this next few weeks) but appraisers, etc. Have a great day!

Good morning moms. I'm feeling so much better today. I think I might even take Lucas and get out of the house this afternoon after naps (I might try to take one myself). I'm a little ticked that I had to miss 2 days of work (I don't get sick pay) and my holiday party for something that could have been prevented if the sick people had just stayed home. The only good thing is that at least it's over with before Christmas.

I have a lot of laundry to catch up on and a bathroom to clean so I'll try to check in again later.

I've been trying to muscle out of it, but I'm SICK!
I'm hacking all over the place this morning, and sound like I've been run over by a truck.
It looks like I'll be taking a short trip to the office today, if I make it at all. Olivia is still taking her morning nap. She's all sniffly too.

Dizagain- great news about the company being willing to buy back the house. That must take a lot of pressure off of you.

GLT- By the time your divorce is over, you're going to be one of the strongest people I know. xDH is some piece of work!

OK, I really need to clean up around here. It looks like a huricane tore through my house. :sad2:

I'm alive!

Sorry I've been away, she does not sleep. .

And bad mommy moment - It is only 10:45 am and I let her watch the doodlebops 8 times already. :sad2:

Hi everyone. Just another drive-by from me. Today is our faculty lunch and I am so looking forward to making a huge glutton out of myself. I have tried to catch up on the last day's worth of posts, but I am in no way attempting a proper reply to you all.
Our bedrooms should be carpeted by the end of the day. Last night my DH and BIL filled in the nail holes in our molding and touched up the paint. DH did tell me the contractor put a bead of silicone on all of the molding AFTER it was hung. I guess this means lots of dirt and dust is going to stick to it. Looks like I'll be wiping that down on a regular basis.
The tile is done in our bathroom. The grout is going on today and I guess the sealer is going on tomorrow. The rest of the stuff should be installed and hooked up by the end of next week. I think the contractor is going to work on building our steps today.

I am seriously considering asking my dad to keep Jimmy overnight tomorrow so we can put our bed in our room and get some stuff upstairs. I have to talk to DH. He doesn't want Jimmy to sleep anywhere but our house. He's so strange about that. I couldn't tell you how many times my sisters and I slept at our Nonnie's house.

I hope you're all feeling better and getting those last-minute Christmas things done.

GLT - I certainly hope your lawyer can give you the go ahead to take the kids to Ohio for Christmas. I, too, will keep my mouth shut about your ex. I think he's putting on a show so he can tell your mediator and judge about his great involvement with his children. I would most certainly recount the comments he made last Christmas.

DisKim - I have no idea what you should do about the puppy. If Emmy has been that awful lately, it sounds as if you and your DH would be taking care of the dog. That's not fair to you. I can't wait until my kids hit their teens. Annabel should be a treat if she's anything like I was.

I'll try to get on later. We're doing our Secret Santa reveal at school this afternoon. I can't wait to see the reactions to some people when they find out who's been giving them gifts for the last couple of weeks.

ETA - icebrat - I think the woman (maybe producers) of the Nanny 911 show have a book out about dealing with challenging children. Maybe it's worth a read? From what you've told us, Tess came from a place with no rules or limits. Suddenly you and DP are trying to give her stability and she has little concept of what that is. Trust me, I have moments like you're having. My dad watches my son everyday and things at Pop's house are like a vacation compared to what I try to do at home. We've had our moments of throwing things, tantrums, etc. Also, don't feel bad about having the Doodlebops on repeat. Jimmy has watched the same Elmo dvds over and over again for the last 4 weeks. I hope she naps today and you can get some rest, too.

Morning mommies,

We're officially on Christmas Break. :cool1:

DH went to the store 3 times yesterday and forgot stamps each time. :rotfl: I then told him he had a Dentist appt for 11 today and he thought it was at 10:30 so he scheduled a golf tee time at 12:30. So, he was leaving today and I asked him if he was gonna get stamps and he said no because he didn't have time. :furious:

So, I was in the kitchen thinking everything he has to do is more important and how he has time to go golfing and not time to get me stamps and how he could have gotten up earlier to get the stamps.

About 15 minutes later he knocked at the door and handed me a book of stamps. So, all is well. :rolleyes1

We are doing absolutely nothing today. I just want to relax. We may try and make Buckeyes today (peanut butter ball cookies dipped in chocolate) but that's about it. I'm trying really hard to keep my promise not to take the kids anywhere like the mall because I don't want them getting sick again before Christmas.

DS wants to see the Eragon movie and DD wants to see Charlotte's Web so we will do that sometime during Christmas break.

gottalovethem,

WTH?????? Your DH has a lot of nerve. Why is he being such a jerk? Have you heard from your lawyer yet?

It takes a real jerk to threaten the mother of his kids with "I'm taking them all day on Christmas."

Please let us know how everything works out. I will be thinking of you.

lissawynn,

Your house sounds like it is coming along. I can't wait to see pictures of it when it is done.

I will try and get caught up later.

icebrat - lissawynn pretty much said it all. Don't feel bad about letting Tess watch some tv. You need to regroup and catch your breath. You must be exhausted!! Hang in there!

GLT - I have no words that I can say on this thread to describe what I think of your XDH. It just sickens me. That's all I can say.

Diz - Great news on the house!

I'm so sorry to hear so many moms are sick! I hope you are all better in time for the holidays :wizard: . I feel like I'm going to catch something just by reading this thread!!

Well, I got through my day. I will only see 2 classes tomorrow and then I get to play "bouncer" during our pep rally tomorrow. What kind of stupid administration schedules a pep rally for the end of the day before Christmas break. I would rather have my nails removed one by one that go there. I heard the administrators are doing a sweep of our rooms and the teachers lounges to make sure we are in attendance. I'm missing both my kids' class Christmas parties for that garbage. I'm sorry. I'm complaining about stupid things today when so many of you have real problems. I'll just shut up now!!

I think I am crazy.

I went to two malls this morning, yes, 3 days before Christmas Eve, to find that darn Gymboree swimsuit for Molly. The first one, DH had the boys, so I just had Molly, but I guess only certain stores get the 'resort ware' and their's wasn't one of them. So then I went to DH's work, picked up the boys and debated whether or not to hit the bigwig Gymbo that had them. I thought, "Why not, we've not done anything the last two days, I can deal." My first clue should have been the way the freeway was backed up. But, me being the mallrat that I am, knew of some backways, did that and then lucked out on a good parking spot.

We fought the crowds to the other side of the mall where Gymbo is, and they had what I wanted, in the sizes I needed (swimtrunks for Josh, swimsuit for Molly, hair things for Molly and then I thought I might as well get another Gymbuck, so I bought $8 sweats for each boy). Yep, got right to $53 after my coupon, but their computers were down, so my Gymbuck isn't 'certified'. She wrote a note on it, saying it was good, but you can bet I will be going to that mall to redeem it. I don't want anyone questioning it....but it just took FOREVER for her to check me out for what, 5 or 6 things? Ug!

The kids were STARVING so we managed to find a place to eat in the food court. Made our way out of the mall and fought traffic the whole way home. At 12:30 on a weekday. I now have a messy house that I must attend to, since all I did yesterday was grocery shop and sleep. I am feeling better today....and guess what- this may be TMI, but when I used the restroom at the mall, there was brownish discharge on the TP- I think Aunt Flo may FINALLY be appearing for me! I hope so anyway- would explain my crying all last weekend and the huge pimple on my chin.... :bitelip: hold a good thought that that is what it is....it's been exactly 3 months since I should have gotten the Depo shot, and 6 months since my last one, so it should be time!

OK, must at least vacuum, mop and run a load of laundry before I can justify coming back on the computer.

ohhh am I furious. We've been getting various bills for Carson's birth - all of which say DO NOT PAY-INSURANCE HAS BEEN FILED. Well, today I get a notice from a COLLECTION AGENCY because of the un-paid hospital bill. WTH????? Hoping this won't show up on our credit report which has improved a zillion times over in the last year or so after some goof-ups with CC's in our 20's finally went away. I'm letting DH deal with this one. :furious:

anyway...

robin - I'd send my Aunt Flo your way if I could...she's pulling the same tricks she did after Hannah and thinks it's ok to come by about every other week or so. Glad you found the swimsuit - you're so brave to go to the mall. We're going to be in the parking lot when it opens tomorrow to go see Santa but then we're outa there.

diskim - hang in there! sad that they feel they have to check up on you guys.

ff - your DH came through - sometimes when they do that, though, I get mad 'cause I CAN'T get mad - I'm awful, I know.

lissawynn - way to go on moving into your bedroom!!! Can't wait for pics!

icebrat - glad you're surviving! I know it's tough and exhausting sometimes. I'll bet she'll start sleeping better once she feels secure. Don't sweat the too-much-tv thing....you've got to stay sane and that's a super way to do it!!

Grumpy boy is asleep for the first time today except for a 20 minute nap at 8:30. Hoping it lasts longer than usual. I made homemade mac and cheese - the last thing I'm cooking until Christmas Eve so I hope my family is ready for leftovers, sandwiches, etc! Check in later!
