Well, I just got home. I've been out and about since 7am. Luckily, my wonderful son Aidan is sleeping so I can skip the neighbor's party. Tom is taking the bullet for me and bringing the kids. I'm so bad! They are really nice and I do enjoy being able to speak to them once a year, but I just had such a long day and I look like a mess.

The Nutcracker was very nice but Alex was bored to tears by the end. The dancers were very good but many of them were falling out of their turns. I guess I'm the only dork who would notice that.

I think I can oficially and finally say that my shopping is done. I think I spent about $200 on the darn dog. Thankfully, there was a very helpful lady at Petco. I was ready to ask for her cell phone number. Apparently, she was able to tell I was a virgin dog owner and noticed that everything I was buying was wrong so she steered me in the right direction. Apparently, the crate I was buying was way too big and the food would have made him fat. He is going to be one spoiled boy. I bought him so many toys. I got him a dachsund stuffed toy because it looks like his daddy.

Robin - I did like the sailboat stuff, but it just can't compare to the girl stuff which is SO ADORABLE. I would have to take out a second mortgage.

bellacam - I wouldn't even give Christmas shopping another thought. I would just send someone for a few things for Aidan and that's that. Bailey's health is what is important and I'm sure everyone would understand that.

Tash - Kylie still wears 12 months! Aidan is moving into 3T right now :sad2: .

Well, I still have to empty the stinking car. I was caught up with wrapping until now. Tomorrow is Hannukah at my mom's and I haven't wrapped her gift yet and I'm not really sure where everyone else's gifts are.

On a side note, I still haven't graded my research papers. I have progress reports due on Tuesday and I still don't have all their work graded. I feel like I'm running on a treadmill.

Diskim - I so love that you and the family go to so many plays and such. I think that is absolutely wonderful!! I hope you enjoyed your down time with dh and kids went to the party.

Tasha - I plan on fighting pretty hard. I need to start planning and figuring out how to do that. We do first have to go to a mediator, which I am sure willlead us nowhere. The next step after that is a lawyer to be appointed to the kids to determine what's best for them and I need to provide a list of people who can testify to my parenting abilities and such....I've been browsing that divorce thread and it really has me worried.

GM- You are one dedicated gal to be at WDW and still do the WPASADI game.

Icebrat - restaurant it is! Good luck -- :lmao: about the middle seat. We can't wait to hear all about Tess' safe arrival!!

Hillbeans - WTG on the wrapping.

Bellacam - don't feel bad, I have been all-consumed by my life lately too. Do you have a nebulizer? I have one that we used to have to use for Lindsey. I remember having to do it every few hours, all night long. She'd sleep in her crib and I'd blow it in her face to keep her going. :wizard: Prayers your way. I'm glad dh is helping you.

justhat - my computer crashed midpost yesterday :badpc:

Tamie - hope you are having a great day!

Robin - I hope you are having a nice weekend.

nucpharm - I hope your outing went ok. Sorry the overnight was cancelled. What kind of holiday gift is that? Though I could use the paper towels

SL - I hope dinner went well. We splurged on some Chinese takeout tonight and the kids devoured it!

lissawynn - sounds like ther eis still lots to do, but it also sounds like you are on the home stretch for your house!

Jill - your trip is almost here, how exciting!!!

DIS Moms - Just to keep you updated. I haven't bought a single thing yet with the gift cards and such you sent me. I haven't spent a penny. Well, not having a car is part of the reason, but I also want to be sure to use it wisely. I was thinking from Target a couple things I was gonna get was a faucet cover for the tub, a nonslip mat for the tub (Leif is always standing) and a new booster seat, as Leif has decided that he likes chairs better than high chairs and for some reason I can't find the one I had for the other kids (wondering if I sold it at a garage sale  ).

The church we go to sent over a food "basket" today - it was a box and three grocery bags filled with food, canned goods, carrots, apples, oranges, toilet paper and cookies. I was astounded. This whole experience is rather humbling. Once I know what dh is doing jobwise - and how the whole check garnishment thing works, I'll know better where I stand and what I need to do.

I took the kids to see Santa today and we walked around (the whole 5 minutes it takes) our non interesting mall. It was just nice to get out of the house. I'll try to download a photo later.

(((((Hugs)))))) to all of you!! :grouphug: Night!

Hi moms!

I have not been online much at all today because I am at my Dad's house. I am sort of "baby-sitting" him and am staying overnight alone without DH and the kids, and my sisters are not here right now either. Without going into gory details this is alot more than what I bargained for. Let's just say I will have some very disturbing memories of my father.

I wanted to send hugs to GLT & Icebrat! :grouphug:

Icebrat - I am so excited about Tess's arrival. I hope everything goes smoothly and can't wait to hear about it. About that black doll, you should have no problem finding one. I have seen them many times at Walmart. The one I got to is in Waters Ave & Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa. I am not sure where you live in the area, but also wanted to say $400 a month for HOA fees is insane! At least that prevents roosters in your area!

Bellacam - Hugs to you and little bailey too. How scary! Hope she is better soon.

GM - You are such a trooper posting at WDW! Hope you are feeling better too. And enjoyed your dinner.

Well I hate to but I have to go. I really wanted to check in and say hello - I missed y'all. Hopefully I will be ok tonight and so will my Dad! I take those sleeping pills and if he (god forbid) needs me I won't wake up for at least 4 hours!

See you tomorrow night when I get in.... :grouphug:

Hope everything with your dad is okay. :grouphug:

Icebrat - OMG - :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: God, may Tess please arrive safely and quickly to her new home!! I wish you, DP and Tess all the best.

Oh, and Zalansky reminded me about the doll. We have a couple black dolls that were probably purchased at Toys R Us. Also, if you really want to splurge, American Girl has dolls that you can select skin and hair color. I REALLY want to get dd one of those, but can't do it right now. Maybe for her b'day in June? Anywho, there are lots out there. There are also black Barbies. Not that it's my business, but how come dp isn't a fan of dolls? My dd actually LOVES My Little Pony's - and has for years. That could be a good Christmas gift idea for you....

Zalansky :wizard: :grouphug: Good luck tonight. I am so sorry you and your family have to go through this horribly stressful time.

.

How are the kids?

icebrat - hold off on driving to Tampa, I will check those dolls for you the nest time I go to Walmart. I have not been going there as much because I really don't like shopping there, it never feels clean! But I go once a month for diapers and some other household supplies. I had a feeling you were in Brandon. I have some friends who live out there...One in the Pavillion and other near the Alafia River. We almost bought a home in Lake St Charles years ago too. I wish we had before prices went up so high.

OK now I am realllyyyy signing off. :goodvibes

Icebrat - Good luck tomorrow! :wizard: I hope everything works out with Tess and her mom getting to the airport and then you alone with them all day. I'd either take them to the mall despite the crowds cause maybe you could even split up and take Tess to a toy shop (bribery works well with Madison) or if you go back to your house then maybe just put on the tv for the mom and try to make friends with Tess. You must be so excited!

GLT - I think you'll be able to get lots of witnesses about what a good parent you are. And that's based my my limited knowledge of what you do, so I can only imagine if I knew you IRL. When do you meet with the mediator? Lots of hugs and prayers for you right now cause I know you're stressing over the custody stuff and I'm really hoping all of that works out exactly how you want it. :grouphug:

Zalansky - :grouphug: I hope things go okay with your dad tonight. Can a nurse come stay with your dad to do basic care stuff? My dad came home from the hospital for 2 months before he died and my mom had to get a nurse for him cause his fulltime care became just too difficult. I know it's really emotionally taxing. :grouphug:

DisKim - Are you Jewish? I got my friend's kids a little cars, Tonka or Little Tikes, I forget the brand. Is that a good gift for a Hanukkah party? I wanted to get more of a family item, but the mall was so packed and Madison had to use the bathroom about 700 times so I just wanted to get out of there. Enjoy your puppy-does he have a name yet?

SL - Hope the fake Christmas dinner went well!

Hillbeans - I wish I had read your post before I left. I actually had a lot of Jewish friends in high school, but none of them ever had a Hanukkah party (at least not one I attended, they all celebrate it though). I should have called one of them and asked though. Congrats on getting all the wrapping done-I still have a lot to go and have to do it by tomorrow night!

Jill - I got your PM so I'll send you one back tomorrow so we can see what overlaps. Oh, and you'll appreciate this (and you too Fabumouse since you lived down here once)-I took Madison to see Sesame Street Live at the Patriot Center last night. I left my house at 5:15 for a 7pm show and guess what time we got to our seats??? Yep, that's right, 7pm!!! It took me nearly 2 hours to go 21 miles! :furious: The worst part is that the bulk of that time, maybe 40 minutes, was spent travelling on 23rd St., NW from O St. to Washington Circle!!! What's that, 3 blocks!?! Madison kept saying "Mommy, drive faster!" I did get some humor out of it though as Madison was reading the address numbers on the buildings and asked me what one was and when I said "5" she said "Wow Mommy, you really know your numbers!" It was ridiculous, but made me really glad I chose to go alone with her cause if I had Joey and Henry in the car I would have really gone insane. And that was taking Route 50 cause I heard on the radio that 66 was stopped from the beltway to 7100 so I steered clear of that deathtrap of a road. She loved the show though so it was worth the drive.

Bellacam - More hugs and prayers to you for Bailey to get rid of the RSV really soon! :grouphug: Don't stress over the shopping-if your sister can get some of it done for you, that's great, if not I know that no one will be upset at all.

As usual, I'm missing people, but it's late, I have to get in bed to be up and shower before the Hanukkah party tomorrow. It's at 11am, which though not that early, will mean I'll have to be up getting ready by about 8am since it seems to take me forever to bathe and dress myself and kids.

justhat - My mom is Jewish, my dad is not (he actually declared himself atheist on his dogtags in Nam  ). DH is catholic, so we're just a melting pot. We celebrate major holidays on both sides. We don't really follow anything. I feel bad about that when it comes to the kids, but we've tried and nothing really works out for us. I'm sure anything you got for the kids for Hannukah is fine!

Icebrat - OMG!!! What a big day for you! I hope that Tess arrives safely and everything goes smoothly. LOL on DP's thoughts on dolls. If that's the case, I'm dead meat because Emily still plays with dolls and she's 11! I think my jaw dropped to the floor when I read about your drama. It sounds like an episode of Cops. I'm picuring the father ramming the car and getting arrested and the "Bad boys" song started playing in my head. Thank goodness Tess is getting out of that environment. You and you DP are doing such a special thing. I can't wait to hear how it all goes. I will be praying that Tess makes it safely today.

GLT - My mom always wanted me to be "cultured". Even though we had very little money growing up, she managed to get me to every major museum, several Broadway shows and lots of local theater. I was also a dancer all the way through college so I have a soft spot for the performing arts. I'd like my kids to appreciate it too. It seems like schools now merely push athletics (which is fine but we are not athletes in this house!). :grouphug: on the feeling you got from the food basket. We were there too when I was little. If it wasn't for my grandmother, we would have been out on the street. I never felt deprived because my mom always loved me. That was all that mattered.

Well, I should be getting my day started. Have a great Sunday girls! I can't belive Christmas Eve is one week from today!! I also can't believ I'll have a dog in a week. I'm really nervous. I don't know what to do with him. I probably should have read my Dog Training for Dummies book but I'm sure you girls can see that I haven't had the time!!

Good Morning ladies...

I hope they are able to make the standby flight, if they do DP can pick them up (I think) :woohoo:

Morning! Carson woke up at 6 and usually I just put him in bed with us and he sleeps another 30 minutes to an hour. I looked over at him and he was "talking" and grinning from ear to ear - they can be so cute when they want to be! We're scrubbing the house hard today and hopefully can keep it nice once the realtor comes tomorrow. Not much else going on except I "have" to make Christmas sugar cookies with the girls. We made the dough yesterday but I didn't have the energy to cut the cookies out so I'm doing it this morning so the girls can decorate later. I feel like such a scrooge - no holiday spirit whatsoever. I guess it's all the moving stress or something.

icebrat - just want to send you guys happy thoughts today! I can't believe they were so late to the airport this early in the morning! Grrr...hope they can get on the flight. Good luck and enjoy getting to know Tess! I'm still laughing about that doll - hope you can find a nice one very soon!! Those American Girl Bitty Babies really hold up very well - ours are 10 years old and still played with...you could probably get one in time as their customer service is usually excellent. :wizard:

zalansky - hope your evening went ok. :grouphug:

glt - :grouphug: It sounds like you have a wonderful network of friends and people who care about you. I am so glad...this is a very hard time for you but it will get better! Glad the kids had fun visiting with Santa!

justhat - have fun at the party - I'm sure your gifts are fine!! Are you excited about your trip yet? You are SO SMART to know all your numbers! I remember "Sesame Street Live" well - wonder if I'll be doing that again in a year or two?

diskim - are you picking the puppy up on Christmas Eve or is she getting him early? You'll be fine - they're so darn cute that you can forgive the trouble so easily! Good luck catching up on school - it will all get done and you're almost done for a few weeks!!!

Well, someone is grouchy and "someone else" is noowhere to be found. Figures. Have a great day!

Good morning, everyone. Fake Christmas Eve was really nice and my pie was a hit. My sister, who just got back from WDW on Friday, was very sick with some stomach thing which better not be contagious. Halfway through dinner she went upstairs to lay down for the rest of the party.

icebrat - pixiedust: Sending some PD that Tess makes it to your home ok. Sorry you're dealing with a lot of drama.

hillbeans - Sounds like you're right on top of things. I have just a couple more things to get and a couple batches of cookies to make, then I'm done too.

glt - :furious: about your XH. I hope no one gets sick from his little visit. I don't really have any good office stories lately but our Chrismas party is on Wednesday and I'm sure that will be interesting.

Tasha - Good luck at the baptism.

ginamarie - Believe me, I'm well aware of kidney stone symptoms. I've had about 10 in the past 8 years or so. Unless that reply wasn't meant for me - LOL...there are so many of us!

zalansky - :grouphug: Good luck with all that with your dad. I can't imagine how stressful that must be.

justhat - Have fun at the Hanukkah party. My friend's mom used to invite us over for latkes during Hanukkah.

DisKim - Woo hoo on getting you shopping done. I can't wait to hear about Emily's reaction when she sees her dog for the first time!

nucpharm - Sorry you won't get to have your weekend away.

bellacam - I hope Bailey is feeling better today.

dizagain - Good luck with getting ready for the realtor.

I think we might brave the mall today. I want to buy some See's for my secret santa at the office. I belong to the mall mailing list and during the holidays I always get a coupon book, including free valet parking on weekends. I'm so happy not to have to stalk people for a parking spot. Plus, I now get to feel super important having my Nissan valet parked next to all the BMWs and Mercedes. :lmao:

Have a great Sunday! :wave2:

Morning all! :sunny: Well, let's just say that yesterday was interesting! The lights were awesome--I took lots of pics, I'll try to post some later today. Emma refused to see Santa--she actually turned her back on him and wouldn't turn back around until he left. They had an amazing train set, and lots of winter time goodies to snack on (cider, cocoa, roasted marshmellows, etc.) The weird thing was it has been so warm this winter here, that the daffodils were already blooming in the gardens! How crazy! But the bad part was Matthew throwing up all over the car. My parents were walking in the race that benefitted the ARthritis foundation, so we dropped them off and went to get gas and some snacks to hold us off until they finished. As we were heading back to the gardens matthew got sick everywhere. And of course, I had no extra clothes for him--luckily my sister did--Matthew looked so cute in his girly gymbo stuff! And then on the way home I started getting the achiness as well, so I spent the night on the couch. We are trying to recover today!

icebrat--Can't belive that they got to the airport so late, and travelling with no $$$ or pull-ups???? That little girl really needs to be with you and DP---oh, and we're also fans of the AG Bitty Babies! Too cute!

SL--glad the party went well.

Well, I better go--need to see if I can put anything in my stomach--I'm starving, but afraid to eat anything. Chat later!

nucpharm - hope you got a pic of Matthew in his girlie clothes :teeth: I am so sorry he and you are sick. I hope everyone feels better soon.

Diskim - I almost forgot about the puppy, how exciting. My parents just got two new puppies and whiile they are cute as a button apparently they are wearing my parents out, they are not used to conforming to others' schedules  Emmy will be soooo :Pinkbounc

I can relate to the double household thing, my dad is Jewish, my mom Catholic and I was raised to believe whatever I chose. I've always leaned more toward the Christian side of things. When dd was 3 we were encouraged by close family friends to start Sunday school, so now the kids do that. And actually, one year ago on Dec. 28 all three kids and I were baptized. We usually still light Hanakah candles but with the drama of my life lately I never made it to the synagogue to buy some (they don't sell candles in any stores around here, small Jewish community). My cousin (who is Jewish) did send a great package of gifts for the kids that they got to open on Friday, she even wrapped them!).

SL - exciting to hear about a disney trip! Sorry though she was sick, I hope the rest of you don't get it! Good luck shopping today.

icebrat -- ugh, all the stress. I sure hope they get on an earlier flight and get there butts to Florida soon!

Dizagain - Cute about Carson "talking" - sorry the holidays seem so distant this year. I can totally relate. It's probably because you have so much on your plate right now. :grouphug:

Justhat - thanks for all the pd. BTW, I took out the box of candy canes and we are all excited to have some, as I hadn't bought any this year. Sorry about the traffic, what a PITA. Glad Madison had fun at the show though! How nice to spend some quality time together.

Morning all DIS moms. Have a great Sunday. I need to get everyone dressed, fed and out the door to Sunday School.

ETA - I just noticed my tag, thank you SL (I'm guessing it was you)!! You are too sweet!

Nucpharm,
I hope you feel better soon. Other than the sickness it sounds like a lovely time :) .

SL,
Glad you had fun on fake Christmas eve. Sorry your sis was sick. Hope none of you catch it. I WISH our malls had valet parking! I hate having to drive all over looking for a spot.

Diz,
Have fun making cookies :).

Icebrat,
I hope Tess arrives safely. Her mother should be a little smarter after having 7 kids than to leave without any pull-ups or snacks.

Diskim,
I'm sure the dog will be such a hit! I can't wait to read about Emily's reaction. Good luck grading those papers.

Justhat,
OMG :lmao: I just cracked up at Madison's astonishment that you knew your numbers. I just love your new siggie pic, btw. Your kids are such cuties :). Have fun at the Hanukah party.

Loretta,
:grouphug: I'm so sorry for all your going through with your dad. You are in my prayers.

GLT,
I'm so glad to hear you have transportation again :Pinkbounc ! You are still in my prayers. I really hope you and your children have a wonderful holiday.

GM,
You poor thing with the kidney stones! I hope you are enjoying the World. Looking forward to your trip report when you get back :) .

Bellacam,
I'm still sending prayers for Bailey :grouphug: . It's good that you finally got some rest even though you had to wake up with boulders in your chest. Don't worry about shopping. I'm sure everyone understands. Take care.

Gems,
I'm glad to hear from you! I hope they can help deal with the itchies. That must be horrible. Are you off on maternity leave yet?

Robin,
I love love love both the boys and the girl's new lines! This is such bad news for my cc :rolleyes1 .

Lissa,
I think all of the laundry in our county is stacked in my basement too. Oh well it will get done someday. I can't wait to see pics of your house.

Tahsa,
Great pic! You don't look sick at all :) .

Hi to Fab, Hillbeans, Joats, J&D, and everyone I'm missing  .

We all went out to dinner last night for our work party. It was a lot of fun :). I have discovered a new thing called butter shots and boy were they good ;) ! Today is my nieces bday party. I still have so much to do before Christmas. I haven't even done cards yet.

Katrina needs some attention so I should sign off. TTYL

Morning Mommies,

I don't know how I am going to get caught up. :confused3 :teeth:

loretta,

Sorry about your Dad. Can you get any help from an in-home nurse? Does he already have one? I don't remember. Stay strong. The more help you have, the better. I'm sending prayers your way. :grouphug:

icebrat,

Wow, I hope Tess arrives safely. :grouphug:

gottalovethem,

:grouphug: Sorry x-dh is being a jerk. I hope you and the children have a wonderful Christmas.

bellacam,

I'll continue to keep all of you in my thoughts. Don't worry about Christmas, things will work themselves out. The important thing is that she is home and recovering. :grouphug:

GEMS,

Sorry you haven't been feeling well. :grouphug:

I am so tired today. DH went to Dunkin Donuts at my request for a Bavarian Cream donut and a Sunday paper. I'm 35 today :scared1: so he has to do whatever I tell him to do. :rotfl2:

If the weather is nice, we are off to the Disney resort to see Grandma.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!!!!!!!!!!

We're in the process of getting ready to leave for this party but Henry decided to start crying so he and I are taking a break from getting dressed. The only reason I was concerned about what to buy was that I found out from my friend (the one whose wedding I was in back in Sept) that for Bar Mitzvah gifts you're supposed to give money in certain increments (though I can't remember what they are now) and it's better luck to give someone their wedding gift before the wedding, etc. So then I started thinking that certain gifts are right or wrong for Hanukkah too. OF course, this might just be his wife's own traditions cause his family is not super religious so I don't think he'd know either way.

SL - You reminded me that I bought some See's yesterday at a stand in the mall!!! You can't believe how excited I was. They even had boxes of only molasses chips so I got one of those for me and a milk chocolate mix for my husband. They threw in chocolate and butterscotch lollipos for free so Madison can have those. I walked by the stand 3 times on our treks to the potty before I finally caved. If Madison could just potty all at once then I would have been spared all those calories!!

Vald - I don't know what a butter shot is but it sounds too good!

GLT - Madison found those candy canes in Target so I had to get them. The kid can spot a Mickey Mouse miles away.

Icebrat - Good luck with the Tess situation today. How did I know something would come up with them at the airport. Did she bring ID to get through security? I hope they can get on teh next flight.

Dizagain - Carson sounds like he was a happy guy this morning. Henry tries to be cute like that but his mistake is that he does it at 4:45am so it's anything but cute. He did sleep till 7:30 afterr that today though.

Diskim - I think it's fun to celevrate multiple holidays. My friend always got to miss school on Jewish holidays cause her dad is Jewish, even though she's Catholic. Whenn do you pick up your puppy?

Well Madison is actually fighting with the tv about MMC ending so I should go.

FF: Happy Birthday! Welcome to the 35 club!! :)

IceBrat: I hope Tess makes it to you guys ok. Sounds like quite the ordeal. I'm sorry her mom is acting this way.

Val: I'm glad you are feeling better...what are butter shots? Gosh, I can't remember the last time I did a shot. :) I used to love SnakeBite shots (Yukon Jack and lime juice) when I was in college.

Zalansky: Hope you and your dad slept thru the night ok. I'm sorry that you are dealing with all of this. :grouphug:

Bellacam: I hope Bailey is getting better everyday. :grouphug:

I'm missing so many of you. Sorry, this is just a quick check in. I have too much crap going on right now. Our $60 christmas tree has bugs. :furious: :furious: They are all over the living room wall behind the tree. We've killed so many of them. I am so skeeved out! If I thought I was itchy before.... DH is convinced we can take care of it on our own and I just want the tree out of my house. Little gnats - ICK! At least they are confined to the living room behind the tree. I'm pretty close to taking everything off it and throwing it outside. I think its because it was so warm here when we got our tree. I have never had anything like this before and I'm livid.

I also need to do my Christmas cards still. I'm so behind in that. We took Jace to see Santa yesterday. He totally freaked out. We bought the picture of him crying and wriggling off Santa.....I'll try to post it later (I need to scan it). Last night I went to my 6 y/o niece's Ice Skating show. She was Cindy Lou Who in it. She was so cute. Olympian Emily Hughes skated there...her performance was so good it gave me chills.

Off to print out more photos for my cards, kill bugs, and this afternoon we are going to a hockey game. I'm hoping Jace will cooperate and not be T-Rexing throughout the whole game.

Have a good afternoon.
:)
