Nucpharm - I feel the same way when my husband has overnight call. My husband refuses to admit that he should just go to bed when he gets home though, so he sits on the couch, then falls asleep, then gets annoyed when he hears everyone making noise. Big challenge to keep 2 little kids quiet, especially when 1 of them is so excited that Daddy's home. How long does your husband have to work nights? Is it a regular thing or just temporary?

SL - We don't really have any weekend plans. Madison's got a playdate this afternoon, but that's about it. My husband is on call tonight so that means that tomorrow will be as described above. ;) I do plan to stop by Target so I'll be on the lookout for Elmo.

FF - Good job Kona!! :thumbsup2 That must be such a relief for you that she finally went on her own. I hope whatever the issue was that it was a temporary thing and she's done with it now.

Lissawynn - Sorry that your meal was ruined. I remember all too well how important food was to me when I was pregnant that if I got the wrong meal I'd have been pretty POed. And unfortunately I'm very stubborn too so I would have done the same thing as you. But then complained about it the rest of the night to make DH feel worse. ;)

J&D - Thanks so much for that pecan recipe!! My great aunt made those when I was little and I haven't had any since she died so I'll have to try out your recipe this year. It makes me think I should compile a family recipe book before the rest of the old people in my family die so that we don't lose the holiday recipes we all enjoy.

Alice28 - You're so not a bad mom. Honestly, if Sam were my kid I bet he'd still have strep cause we never go to the dr. So consider him well taken care of compared to my kids.

Hillbeans - Enjoy your friend's wedding! I hope you'll bring back some photos to share since we can't have any cake.

Jill - I forgot to congratulate you on finishing your paper! It must feel so nice to be done. I need to go back to school and finish my last year, but after reading about your semester (and Tasha's) I'm not sure that I'm ready for comitting to that kind of work. Hey, we'll be out in your (sorta) area on the 15th cause I'm taking Madison to see Sesame Street Live at the Patriot Center. My husband didn't want to come ( :furious: ) so he gets to stay home with Henry (probably not what he had in mind when he declined the Elmo invite :lmao: ). We also went out to the Udvar-Hazy center on Sunday and I thought next time we go I'll let you know and maybe we can meet up. Madison and Joey love that museum so we're there a lot.

Ginamarie - Congrats on flo! I'm sure you were never so happy to have that appear as you are now so it doesn't ruin your vacation.

Henry took a big nap yesterday afternoon-1.5 hours-and he's doing that again right now. Luckily he seems to be getting back into his pre-trip sleep patterns. Actually better cause he was doing a 6-7 hour stretch at night before we left, moved it to 9 hours this week and 11 hours last night! :woohoo: The only thing was that when I fed him at 5:15am that he slept maybe another 30 minutes and was then wide awake for the day, about 45 minutes before I needed to wake up. He was talking to himself so loudly that not only could I not sleep but he woke up Madison too so we were all up very early. If I can just get him to go one more hour at night we'd be all set cause then his wake up would fit in with mine. Gotta unload the dishwasher and do some laundry before we pick up Madison and head over to her friend's house.

:cake: Happy Birthday Emma!! Have fun today Nucpharm. Good luck with the party tomorrow -- DS told me he wants a CEC party for his b'day, it's an hour away!

:lmao: Yes, a female, sorry, it is a legit question, but did bring a smile to my face! And yes, the way you think.

And right now, support, hugs and prayers are what I can use LOTS of. Thank you.

It's snowing like crazy out there. I can't believe dd had school. Wonder if they will close early or just stick it out til end of day because it's supposed to be done by then :confused3

SL - HOpe our snow doesn't slam you too hard! Enjoy the warmth while you can.

lissawynn - I have been there, wanting and looking forward to that special food just to have it all wrong! :furious: I don't blame you for being mad. Hope you get to take care of your craving today.

J&D - thanks for the recipes!

Robin - Sorry about Sam and his strep, I hope he feels better soon! And I hope you don't get it. Love the pics of Molly & Sam!

Zalansky - Hope you are hanging in there!

Jill - glad to hear your paper is all done! Congratulations!

Tasha - hope things are well in your neck of the woods

Hillbeans, have fun at the wedding.

:wave2: Hi DIS Mommies. :thanks: Thank you for your kindness and friendship.

GLT- like I said in my email, I'm so PI$$ED right now for you. Ugh. Good thing you already got the ball rolling with the attorney, etc. I'm just feeling so bad- I wish we could all wave our magic wands and whisk you and the kids out of the snow, and into WDW! :grouphug:

Jill- I too forgot to congratulate you on finishing your term paper! WTG! :woohoo: :rockband: that must be quite the monkey off your back.

Justhat- I remember my kids taking quite sometime to get back on their normal schedules after a vacation. It's exhausting for the parents....we *hope* to do room naptimes daily for Molly, or she will just be a BEAR.

Nuc- HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA! :bday: Post a pic of her face when the balloon bouquet comes, OK? And have fun at Chuck's!

Bellacam- the annoucements are just precious. Love seeing new pictures of both of your babies! :cloud9:

Hillary- Man! Such a bummer that we miss you by only two days. :guilty:

lissawynn- how in the heck did your DH forget you hate Mayo? I would have been mad too. I stopped thru the drive thru last night to get a McDonald's box of nuggets- for whatever reason they sounded good after 2 hours at Urgent Care, plus I wanted Sam to have some ice cream. But I agree- you DON'T get in the way of a pregnant woman and her fast food! I would have sent him out for another burger!

Sam is already on the couch watching cartoons. So much for sleeping in. We don't have much plans this weekend. Well, except the boys are spending the night at Gma & Gpa's tonight; they're watching Molly just for the evening so we can go to that fondue place with friends. Tomorrow DH has another military drill and we're just going to hang out. Maybe go to the nice grocery store in the afternoon cause they are having a gingerbread house making event for FREE for the kiddoes. Then again, mom and dad will be bringing over my tree, so we might be too busy decorating. Did I tell you guys that DH got his 20 year papers with the military? His first pension is IN THE BAG! :cheer2: He was really excited about that- me too! Nothing like the feeling of security at 34/37 that we already have one check coming in when we're retired. :thumbsup2

Oh yeah, BABY! :woohoo:
DH got his promotion. :cool1:

How sad is it that we are going to "celebrate" by him cooking and us watching a tape of Survivor from 2 weeks ago? But at least we have a reason to celebrate!

Tkyes - I am so behind on my scrapbooking, yikes! Sorry about your DH being gone in December. Even though my DH travels most weeks, the winter holidays are usually left in peace.

Dizagain - I think I missed some of this discussion about your relocation - why is your DH in NY if you're moving to TN?

nucpharm - :lmao: about your dh cleaning the carpet in the middle of the night. One crazy day we needed to clean the house and I did the bathrooms, bedrooms, laundry, vacuuming, organzing of dining room and living room. Dh - cleaned the kitchen. Yes, ALL DAY LONG. He was scrubbing the baseboards with a brush. :confused3 When I protested, he complained that I was "micro managing" him.

BnB - I think that was really smart of you to have that conversation before having the fourth child. Because I'm home most of the time by myself, DH is used to me doing everything for the girls. But to his credit, he took them both over the weekend so I could get some personal things done (he had them in front of the TV, playing X-box games, and I had to bite my tongue, but at least he had them  )

SL - love the tree!

Z - oh, the hair drama. And the older I get, the longer it takes because of the foiling and weaving and stripping and dying. The only thing worse would be to let it go natural.

Hi J&D. :wave2:

Lissa - I told my dh the hamburger story. His eyes bugged out and he said he would have just returned to the car and got another burger without a discussion. He said with pregnant women, one has to focus on self preservation. :thumbsup2

Robin - I swear, if we kept kids home every time that we thought they might be sick or not quite over being sick, they'd flunk out of school. You were better than me - you gave the school a heads up. And my DH's trick used to be to start opening dresser drawers at 5am looking for underwear and socks. Open and SLAM open and SLAM. :furious:

Your enthusiasm for your Disney trip is getting me all excited about ours! The hoop de doo is the only thing that I could reserve a year in advance, right? I think we may do the dining plan this time - although weren't there some unpopular changes around the kids menus?

And I know everyone has their favorites, but Chef Mickey's just doesn't do it for me - but I really like CP. Hope your Dh does, too.

Love the cheesy toddler pic and Sam is so handsome!

Bellacam - love the announcement!

Justhat - guess Henry is no longer a baby blob! :teeth: Isn't it funny how we worry and then when they show us they can do stuff (pull up, walk, run) we then have even more worries (like how they're going to injure themselves perfecting their new skill)

FF - yayyyy on the poop!! We had to use glycerin suppositories on Kailey when she was about 7 months old and it was *awful*.

Joats - yay on the TMX!! And I keep meaning to ask is how do you get all your photos to be of such even sizes? I find that I have to upload my photos over and over again and they are never quite right. :confused3

GM - what's weird is they keep getting in trouble for posting copyrighted DVDs, so I my account keeps getting suspended. Good thing I wasn't in the Ebay market for anything right now!

"There wasn't even any mildly amusing business" :lmao:
Dh said to me, now we can get rid of all of those pregnancy tests - I said, are you CRAZY? Peace of mind, buddy, peace of mind.

GLT - glad to see that you are safely home. I wanted to share something with you. A very good friend of ours found out two things about 6 years ago 1) she was pregnant, and 2) her husband was having a relationship with a secretary in his law office (Ugh - what a cliche!). He actually brought the ho with him to the hospital when our friend was in premature labor. :sad2: I don't think her life could have been filled with more despair and that man will have a choice spot in hell for what he put her through.

However, about 6 months ago, she married a man who is obviously her "soul mate". He loves his step son immensely, and they recently announced her pregnancy. If that pig of a husband hadn't taken up with the ho, our friend would have never known how happy her life could be.

I hope, with all my heart, that this awful experience ulimately changes your life for the better.

hi all!

We just got back from the club and it's almost lunch. I just wanted to check in.

glt - OMG! How awful! I'm so sorry. This reaffirms that you are doing the right thing. Hugs to you!!!

robin - Poor Sam! You could not have known it was strep again, don't feel bad.

lissawynn - Your husband doesn't know that you don't mess with a pregnant woman and her food? I would have done the same thing you did though.

fab - yeah for DH and his promotion!!!

joats - woo hoo on the Elmo!!

Great recipes so far!

justthat - glad Henry is getting back into a routine!

we have a very busy weekend. Tomorrow morning we are going to the children's party at DH's work to see santa. Then we are going to try and find a Christmas tree. Tomorrow night Tyler is going to my MILs and we have a Christmas party. Sunday morning DH is hunting and I'll get the morning to decorate. Sunday afternoon I have a family ornament exchange party. Nothing Sunday night, thank goodness!

Almost time for lunch!

Tamie

Alice- Sorry about the strep :( The fondue restaurant sounds like fun. I’ve never been to one, but I’ve seen a couple on the food network and it always looks so good to me.

Lissawynn- I feel for you and the messed up fast food order.

GLT- I’m so sorry that you had to deal with that woman on top of everything else you’re going through.

Nucpharm- I hate when my DH works nights too. A lot of the time he gets home at 2 am, and I’ll be awake waiting for him because the house is so creepy to be alone in with the baby. Then he gets mad because I should have been sleeping!

Justhat- I’m glad Henry’s napping schedule is returning to normal. Isn’t it so nice when they sleep through the night? Olivia was going through a period of getting up during the night, but she’s getting better about it now.

Fabs- GREAT news about the promotion!!! I know you were hoping so much for it.

Tykes- Sounds like you have a busy weekend planned doing Christmasy stuff :)
I’ll post a couple of recipes tonight or tomorrow when I’m home.

My week is getting better. It’s Friday, so it’s automatically a little better, but I also had a good meeting this morning. My clients gave me a decent sized job to do, so that I know I’ll make some money in December (at least enough to pay all of my office bills through January). It looks like they’re going to need to set up another corporation too, which is very good news. Olivia had to sit through the meeting with us (90 minutes), and she was a champ. She barely fussed, and for the end of the meeting she just walked around the office with my dad so that I could discuss legal jargon. The best part was that she was so sleepy and hungry at the end that I took her into my office, nursed her and she went right to sleep. She’s sleeping IN her pack and play now. Miracles do happen sometimes!

Then DH called and said that he had a great meeting today. After finding out recently that the job he applied for a couple of weeks ago was given to someone else, he sat down the one of the heads of the new digital tape library system today. He was so prepared for the meeting with a power point presentation on how he could make their system work properly. It turns out, the guy he was meeting with is already seriously considering him to head the whole new library. Of course nothing is set up yet, but with any luck he might be able to get a new job with ABC. I’m keeping my fingers, toes, and legs crossed!

OK, have to make some adjustments and mail out this real estate contract while Olivia is still resting. I’ll check back in later with my weekend plans.

GLT - Hugs, I’m sorry you are being put through all of this, especially around the holidays. I hope your DD feels better soon, and that the weather clears up for you in your neck of the woods. Happy Birthday to Leif! :grouphug:

Robin - You are an excellent Mom, don’t be so hard on yourself. Kids get sick all the time, as previously mentioned if you always pull the kids out when they are sick, how will they ever learn? I hope that Sam feels better soon. Your disney trip has me totally excited about Disney, although I’m always excited about disney the problem is getting SO to go, but now that we are getting a kid, Disney here we come! It’s only an hour away so I hope Disney is in the near future! I’ll need you to give me quick education on all things Disney with a kid. Is Epcot even worth going to with a little one? Score on the wilderness lodge and the dining plan, I hope you enjoy it! BTW - Molly looks lovely in her stroller.

Jills - Congrats on finishing your paper, what a relief you must feel!

Justine - Congrats on Henry getting back into a sleep schedule and taking longer naps, and congrats on him becoming mobile. I love all the pictures.

SL - Our weekend plans consist of clearing out Tess’s room, donating the furniture in there to Salvation army they come Saturday, and going to Home depot or Lowes to buy paint, probably Home depot as we’ve only used Behr paint in the past. We’re going to start painting her room, so we can get all the stuff we’ve bought for Tess out of the living room.

Love your mantle and your tree!

Lissawynn - I’m sorry about your big bacon cheeseburger, I would’ve been po’ed too and I’m not even pregnant. You don’t sound like a witch at all, you sound like a normal woman that wanted her burger and someone screwed it up. You should give him h*ll so he will never make that mistake again.

Yes, we have hardwood stairs in the house, they are pretty steep, I’ve been looking at the thousand types of gates they have, I don’t even have a tape measure to see how big of a gate we need.

J&D - Thanks for the recipes, I’ll have to try out those holiday mints. Thank you for the mattress recommendations, it’s currently in the living room! Thanks again for the website too!

Gina Marie - Congrats on getting Aunt Flo, I got mine too, not that it was lost, wish I didn’t have it ever! I hope you find a job soon.

Joats - Congrats on getting Elmo! :cheer2:

FF - Nice to know Kona didn‘t have to get the enema after all, those things are horrible, I got one while I was in basic training in the Navy. I’m happy she was finally able to Poop! Nice coupons you got in the mail!

Tykes - I’ll see if I can think of any holiday recipes, I cook a lot of chicken but not as apps, most apps and desserts are done by DP’s step mom, I’ll try to get some of her recipes, she is an excellent baker. Sorry to hear about your DH’s trip to Europe.

Nuc- Congrats on the FF miles and your 8 mile run!!

Dizagain - congrats on the relo package.

Bella - Beautiful announcement! Bailey is a doll and I love her name.

Fab- Lol at the marinara sauce story, but hey be happy, at least your DH can cook, my DP can’t even make pancakes. Sorry about the eBay thing. Lol on the feral monkey comment. 4 years for Kailey to blow her knows eh, I guess I shall see if she can blow her nose when the time comes. Congrats on DH's Promo!

Diskim - Nice to know that Aidan is feeling better.

Zalansky - Yep, we are neighbors, we moved here June 28th, and haven’t been to Disney or a Beach. Tampa is a lot different that California. I still haven’t adjusted, and I haven’t met anyone here yet either. I hope you are able to move soon. I want to move too, actually, I wanted to move the second we got in our town. It’s hot, hot, hot and way too humid, DP’s parents live 3 miles away and she says we can’t move until they die. I don’t want to sound mean or anything, but I told DP that I rather us move and get in-law quarters for them than stay in this state.

Do you go to Disney often?

Anyone care to post pictures of your children play rooms and/or bedrooms?

Anyone mind sharing your schedules if you have your child on a schedule?

Any specific medication I should bring on the plane for Tess so her ears won’t hurt?

icebrat - oh how I feel your pain about Florida. I know you've seen my posts about how much I am over it. I loved, LOVED living here when I was in my 20's, when I was single and working as a bartender. Life was carefree then and my life was spent at the beach. Now that I am older and married with kids and stuck in the house most of the time and rarely go to the beach, I hate it! How about todays weather? Could it be any more gross for Dec 1st? 80 degrees, muggy and overcast. Gross! We go to Disney several times a year which is one benefit. I may have one Gymbuck for you that I may not be using, they are not redeemable until mid January so I will let you know as it gets closer. Just remind me because my memory is non-existent and I will definitely forget.
Sorry about your job by the way but if they feel that way about your sexuality then to heck with them. I am surprised that in this day & age they'd have such an attitude. What kind of work do you do if you don't mind my asking?

GLT - :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I forget who asked about the bathing suit cover up but it wasn't me who had found a good one. Must have been someone else. Sorry

I got my Gymbor and Disney Shopping orders yesterday. :cheer2: I got some great deals at Gymbo now that I see what I got for what I paid. From Disney I got monogrammed stockings and a tree skirt and I am really happy with them. Though, they have Mickey and Minnie on them and when family sees this they will again think I have issues with my love for all things Disney. C'est La Vie!!!

Here is a good one :rotfl: Dh's uncle (who is my FIL's brother) lives the next street over with his wife. They also cannot stand my MIL, they hate her too as a matter of fact and are not speaking with my in-laws right now either. So when they found out about my huge fight with her we have all talked about how we can't stand her, how miserable she is, etc. Well, the uncle saw me today and stopped to tell me that he heard that MIL took every photo that had me in it down. We're talking expensive wedding photos and cruise and Disney photos that DH and I paid for. I told DH he needs to go down there tonight and get those darn things because they were very $$$ and I want them back. I think it is hilarious that MIL proves herself an idiot yet again and has to be so juvenile as to take ALL photos down that have me in it, like it is some kind of high school breakup! :rotfl: She is such a freak! Anyway that made my day.

Better go play with Cam, I've edited this post 5 times and keep adding stuff.

Good afternoon all! That major storm is headed our way--it's warm and damp for now, but is supposed to be nasty tonight. Luckily, I hit Wal-Mart this morning, so I'm good, and Jocleyn has dance 5:15 to 6 and that's it tonight.

GLT-- :grouphug: to you! I'm so sorry you're going through this! We are thinking of you and hoping it gets better for you. It's sort of good to see that your instincts were correct to get out of this marriage, but I would be spitting nails right about now. Give your kids an extra hug from us, okay?

justthat--I hope Henry gets back on a schedule for you. Luke doesn't have much of one, poor thing gets dragged all over creation because of his siblings. That's funny about the swing. I never had much luck with them, period, and now the Exersaucer is losing its charm because someone would rather be tearing up the room!

Alissa--I hear you on the fast food--when you're pregnant, you know what you want, and it's better not to mess! i remember DH goingdown to Stewart's (local ice cream chain) for sundaes, and I asked for a specific thing. Well, they happened to be out of the "right" flavor ice cream, so silly DH, he got something else! Well, I ate it, but the poor guy--he tried to do the right thing, and it was clear that I was not a happy camper!

fab--Actually, the conversation DH and I had before Luke was fairly involved. We had wrestled with secondary infertility, then (I thought) got lucky with Celeste. So beyond the overall care issues, I wanted to make sure we were both fully committed to (a) trying, and (b) accepting the result, whatever it might be. I was also 41, so the window was closing rapidly, and so we had an end date as well, when we figured we were getting our answer from God, whatever it might be. It probably sounds way over-elaborate at this point, but it was no small thing back when it was on the table. At any rate, my DH is certainly not immune to "stupid husband tricks", but he tries hard.

Gina--I'm glad you at least have some work coming your way. And here's hoping your DH gets the new job.

Robin--That's great on the pension. Nice to have that all taken care of for down the line. I hope the strep clears out of your house before the holidays--I used to get strep all the time as a child, it's really a pain.

FF--Glad to hear that Kona pooped. Ah, the little things that make us happy! Is she able to understand that fruits and vegetables help keep her poop from hurting? We've used that line many times on Celeste. My pediatrician said constipation is common in little ones, which is fine until you're the lucky mom.

Oh, whoever asked about the "Elmo knows my name"--yes, it does spew off randomly sometimes. However, it's also Celeste's favorite, because it says things like, "Elmo loves pancakes! So does Celeste!" "Celeste likes pink. Elmo does, too" so she just adores the stupid thing.

Time to get to other things while the house is quiet.

Hi everyone! I just found this thread. My oldest DS will be one year old on December 5 and my second DS is due in February. I know, very close together.

Welcome nyprincess!!!!

:welcome:

And congratulations to you too. This is a great group of ladies, so make yourself at home!

And.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA!!!!

Hi Mommies,

It's been a pretty busy day today. I started it off with a Bavarian Cream donut from Dunkin Donuts. YUM! Those are my favorite!!

We just got back from Walmart. Had to get a sleeping bag for DS-he's got a birthday party to go to tonight.

My Dad called today and they have to change the dates of their trip due to something going on at work. :guilty: It's only be a few days but they won't be here for Christmas.

Robin,

I forgot to mention how adorable Molly looks in her stroller. I'm shocked at the amount of hair she has. IMO, Molly needs to be in a Gymbo ad. :thumbsup2

Sorry Sam has strep! Don't feel bad. I would also check into getting his tonsils out if he keeps getting it. I guess they are having a big problem down here with drug resistant strep infections. Does he get it real close together?

GLT,

I'm so sorry. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.

fabumouse,

Congrats on the promotion!!!

tkyes,

Sounds like you have a busy weekend. Stay warm!

I hope everyone in the North stays cozy this weekend. My parents said it's actually not too bad in Michigan but DH wanted to check with his family in Chicago and see what it was like there.

Welcome nyprincess!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

icebrat,

I'm sorry about your job. Could you have informed them of the laws and made them stop bugging you? :grouphug:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO EMMA!!! :cheer2:  :yay:

lissawynn,

I'd be mad, too.

Have a great day everyone!!

Dizagain - I want to say THANKS so much for the personalized towel for Jimmy. I got it yesterday and it's great. I'll take a pic and post it this weekend. I know he'll love having his "own" bath towel!

GLT - Something very similar happened to one of my BFs. She had her son (and almost died while doing so) and not too long after her husband started seeing his BF's fiancee. This went on for almost two years, and for most of that time, she was home recovering from the heart condition she developed during pregnancy that almost killed her. She suspected he was involved, but it was her 2 yo son who spilled the beans last New Year's Eve. He said something about so and so having a red coat like his mom's.
I just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you and the kids. Maybe if the weather isn't too bad you all can go out and enjoy the snow. :grouphug:

I have to finish up a few things before school is over. TTYL!

ETA - Happy birthday Emma!

Happy Birthday to your son NYPrincess and welcome to the thread!! Wow, you must be exhausted with a 1yo and being pregnant. Hopefully your son is a good napper and sleeper for you!

Icebrat - Here's Madison's schedule. It's kinda set by school but maybe it will help you.
6:45 - wake up/eat breakfast/get dressed
7:30-7:50 - leave for school (that varies depending on if we drive or walk)
10:15 - snack
11:30 - come home
12:15 - lunch
2-4 - snack (depends on when she asks, not a set time)
5:30 - dinner
6:15 - bath/PJs
7:15-7:30 - bed

It's pretty much the same on weekends except that she wakes up between 7 and 7:15 (on her own, no luck in ever getting her to sleep late!). She definitely does much better when she's on her schedule so my vote is for getting Tess on one. I know you mentioned your DP not liking the idea that much, but I really think it helps the kid out a lot. Gosh, Henry is a terror when he's off his.

Alice28 - I'm jealous of your WL trip now! I love the Poly and all, but I have always wanted to stay at WL and my husband just won't go for it. He'd rather pay more to not stay there for some reason. He's just not into the woods atmosphere that much unfortunately cause I love it. He does AKL though, and in fact everytime I've mentioned WL we end up at AKL cause he says they're practically the same but at AKL you get a free zoo with your room. If you do a trip report when you get back then maybe that will convince him!

Playdate was cancelled cause the kid had to go to speech therapy. It's usually on Mondays but the nanny said that the therapist called today to move the appt and today was basically the only day they both had free so we're meeting Monday instead. The kid goes to speech and occupational therapy but honestly I don't know why. He speaks pretty well to me (and you know it's always harder to understand a kid who is not yours) and physically he seems like a normal 3yo too. And I've seen him pretty much everyday for the past year so not like he's made all these improvements recently or something.

Anyway, gotta get Madison some lunch. She refused to eat since we got home from school but now she's hungry. Chicken nuggets are pretty much all we have, and she doesn't really eat nuggets (I know, weird kid, what kid doesn't eat nuggets?) so she's not gonna be happy with her lunch.

:cheer2: Welcome nyprincess! It's a fast-moving thread, but there are a lot of great ladies on here. Jump right in when you can.

nucpharm - Happy birthday Emma!

justhat - Good for Henry sleeping so well!

glt - Hope you don't get snowed in.

alice28 - Have fun at the fondue restaurant. I don't think there are any around here. Too bad - it sounds interesting.

fabumouse - Congrats on your DH's promotion.

tkyes - Enjoy your busy weekend. Will you be taking Tyler's picture with Santa?

ginamarie - Glad your business is holding steady for the time being. I hope you find something more stable.

icebrat - Sorry your job was stressing you out so much. Good for you for not putting up with that! As far as schedules, mine goes out the window when DS is at my mom's (which is 4 days a week when I work). Plus, DS goes to bed a little on the late side so he'll sleep longer in the morning so DH can get ready for work. I'm gone before he wakes up. Sorry I'm not much help.

zalanksy - OMG, I cannot believe your MIL. :sad2: I always wonder how people like that manage to get by in life.

Bnb - Thanks for the talking Elmo info...that was me asking. I'm still holding out hope for a TMX (DH is going to make a few calls to see where he gets) but I think this one sounds pretty good as a backup.

ff - Sorry your dad won't be there for Christmas.

icebrat - I wanted to post Connor's schedule because justhat reminded me I forgot to. His has been the same for a lonngggg time now but has also been set by school in recent months.

7:00 - wakes up, has breakfast, gets dressed.
8:15 - goes to school
12:00 - pickup from school
12:15 - lunch
12:30 - playtime and tv time
2:00 - NAP (yes he still naps daily at almost 4 years old hallelujiah because I feel this is key to both his survival and mine)
3-3:30 - wakes up and has snack, plays and/or watches tv till dinner (I allow much more tv than I should but I am DIS-ing too much therefore I digress, I am not the best Mom)
6:00 - dinner
7:30 - bath, pj's and storytime
8:00 - bed

We have always been a schedule type family. I have found with both my kids that a flexible schedule is key. The times quoted above can vary either way from 30 - 60 minutes but bedtime is pretty much airtight every night at 8pm. I read so many books during my pregnancies and afterward and each one heavily encouraged scheduling and/or routines and that has worked out great for us. Except at Disney World. ;)

Everyone is different but that is what keeps us semi-sane here.

Aaargh!!! I have had no time to post. I finally typed one out and it gets freaking lost!!!! I'll have to catch up later. Hi to all my mom pals  !

diskim - bummer that you lost your post! Hi

nucpharm - I completely forgot to say Happy Birthday to Emma!! I hope she has a fun day! I agree, we want to see the balloon bouquet pics.

sl - Yes, we'll try and get Santa pics. He saw Santa a couple of weeks ago and wouldn't give me a remotely happy expression. He didn't cry, but he didn't look happy either. They were also $10 a picture, these should be free and I can take my own too.

icebrat - That's awful that your work made things so difficult for you. I make the growth charts - here are a few pictures, send me a pm if you have any questions.

ff - Sorry your parent's schedule changed, that's too bad. It's just stinkin' cold here (23) but the storm is missing us completely. I would be fine with it really, I just want a white Christmas.

justthat - I hope Madison eats for you :) Tyler isn't big on chicken nuggets either. He's not much of a meat eater.

z - OMG on your MIL! That is childish! I would want them back too!

welcome nyprincess!!

bnb - Hope the storm doesn't hit you guys too bad!

I should run, Tyler's due up soon!

hi mommies! I just wanted to share the family portrait we had done as well as Bailey's "Official" first portait. No matter what I did I could not get her to keep her eyes open for an awake shot, but I still thought these were pretty cute. We are going to try and get the tree up and the house decorated this weekend. Hope you all have a great weekend!
