Woo! This is me trying to catch up! No Smilies though cos I am in Word!!

Gretchen, I hope your trip goes ok, I am sure that the flight will be good.

Lissawynn – Sorry about your former student, that must be hard to deal with. WTH with your nutty neighbour too! My guess is that she is jealous!

Tasha – I am sure that Kylie is just going through a phase, Shelby have developed this awful screech that she keeps doing – honestly it’s ear piercing and she is doing it all the time, my Mom assures me that it’s a phase! I hope so! Ha ha! Sorry about the paycheck – I hope that you get it all sorted out quick.

Justhat – How are Henry’s bili levels today? Shelby’s were high when she was born but the luckily came down before she had to go under the UV lights. I was pleased with that.

Robin – the mall that you describe sounds great, I like……… sorry I love shopping, we went yesterday but I just got some new maternity trousers for work and that was about it, oh actually I got Shelby’s 1st toothbrush! Your SIL sounds like a real PILL!!

I am looking forward to getting home to see the pictures that everyone has posted as for some reason the pictures won’t show at work? I don’t know what’s going on with it!!

Ginamarie – how old is Olivia now? I remember Shelby’s drooling stage it was a PITA having to cover all of her nice clothes up with a bib, I am glad that she is out of that now, although I gave her some fudge to try yesterday – sans bib and she drooled brown goop all down her belly, luckily she didn’t have her t shirt on at the time as she was being bribed to get dressed but it was still a disgusting mess!

Floridafam- Hugs that you make up with DH, I hate it when we argue for what seems to be no reason.

I know I haven’t caught up with everyone but I am getting there!

We were at a two different weddings this weekend, one on Friday which the wedding was at 5pm and then an evening reception which was really nice, luckily it was only 20 minutes from home, the one on Saturday was in London which took us about 4 hours to get to, we got stuck in traffic on the motorway and ended up missing the ceremony and got there just as the bride was coming out of the church! Oh dear! We went to the reception though which was nice, but we started back at 8pm to try and get back at a reasonable hour, it took us about 3 hours to get back and the journey was ok apart from having to stop for potty breaks!

Shelby got her first tooth last week too! So she is no longer a Toothless Wonder! It looks very cute – just having one but I can see the second one trying to break through already!

We had a breakthrough with sleeping last night too! She slept in her crib until 5.30 this morning, although I did have to get her to sleep cuddling with me I transferred her to the crib at 10.15 and she stayed there apart from having to get up a couple of times to give her the binky back and check that she was ok (I was paranoid that she was sleeping so well!) so I was really pleased and hope that this will be the way to go with her.

Good morning everyone! I would love some opinions on this: I was working on a design for a t-shirt for Lucas to wear at WDW. What do you think?
ed8024fd.jpg

DisneyPhd - Happy anniversary!

joats - Jace's eyes look great. You can definitely tell it's him in that baby picture. He's had those cute little cheeks all along.

Gem - Congrats on Shelby's tooth! She has Lucas beat - he was 11 months before he had any.

Tasha - Good luck at school. I hope Kylie enjoys her new daycare, too!

J&D - Thanks for the mypoints heads-up.

ginamarie - I hope you find some good deals at the outlets.

ryan - I love your pictures!

lissawynn - Hope you found something gross to eat.

Hey all. Jimmy is up and ready to make some noise this morning. I have to get his breakfast for him. I did manage to eat some Doritios last night. They were so yummy. I'm making chili for dinner, as I've been really hungry for it. I'm dreaming of the melted cheese, sour cream, and tortilla chips. I'm such a mess. All I've been thinking about is food.
We have no plans today. It rained early this morning and it's still kind of yucky outside.

SL - The shirt design is great! You should make two and have the characters sign one of them.

gems - Yay for Shelby's tooth! I'm glad she slept last night. Let's hope this is the first night of many more.

ginamarie - Have a good time outlet shopping!

J&D - Jimmy hasn't managed to reach the top of the fridge, but he is getting on the sofa all by himself these days.

Tasha - Have a great day at school!

DisPhD - Happy belated anniversary! :wizard:

ryan - Great pics! That chocolate cake looks yummy!

Breakfast time!

Lissawynn- Will you be finding out what you are having? I so think that you are having a boy with the food that you are craving!! Also what is your due date?

Gems - My dd is Valentine's Day. Yes, I'll be finding out what we're having. I'm guessing my level II ultrasound will be sometime in the end of September or early October. I'm 14 weeks now, so we have a while to wait.
I'd love to have another little boy. I have all of the stuff and am ready to go. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. If it's a boy his name is going to be Jack Oliver and it it's a girl her name will be Annabel Olivia.

Must take shower!

Mornin'- :surfweb:

I am not feeling well, again this AM. Another headache. I knew it would happen yesterday, with all the dust and the smell of the new carpet. I am really becoming one of those people who are sensitive to smells & the wrong one at the wrong time can trigger a migraine for me. I just had the edge of it when we came down to my parents, but then it got bad. I found some vicoden in their medicine cabinet, and that helped me sleep, but the headache isn't gone. :guilty:

The carpet does look very, very nice. Small problem- it's so plush, we have to now shave 1/2" off all the doors, so we have no doors upstairs until DH can get to that this weekend. Even the carpet guy was like, "You chose a very nice carpet!" I should hope so, for almost $2,000 for only 440 square feet! I just want to cry though, at the thought of carrying everything back upstairs. :sad2: I hate living in my house like this.

I will take a picture of it later.

Joats- so good to hear from you and Jace is so sweet! I love all that blonde hair too, and his eyes look great! :grouphug:

lissawynn- it sounds like maybe the MS will start to subside now that you are getting your food cravings back. I had a VERY sensitive gag reflex when I was preggo with Josh- like you said, just coughing would make me vomit. I hated it. Good luck being able to get into your classroom! I hear you about not being a slave to a mortgage- I mean, just because we can afford a higher one now, doesn't mean we should move...I just am frustrated with my house right now I guess. I would rather have the extra money for trips, shopping, pedicures.... :rotfl:

Gems- Yay for Shelby for cutting a tooth! And for sleeping well! :cheer2: Sounds like your travel to London was quite the adventure! My parents are enjoying their trip to the UK very much- they love your part of the world! My mom started crying on the phone one time when she was telling me about what a great time she was having. I think they are heading to Stratford Upon Avon today or tomorrow. They were doing something in Scotland called the Tattoo festival? Or something like that??? A big military music thing?

DisneyPhD- Happy Anniversary! Congratulations! And going to Home Depot is something we would totally do on a date night too.

Tasha- Good luck at school tomorrow! how exciting! Molly is an EK too- she is such a daredevil, it drive me nuts. I think it's cause she has 2 big brothers. She's FEARLESS.

SL- that wil make a great t-shirt for Lucas! Love it! Sorry to hear about the gigglers- I think I would need earplugs for that- I'm not a giggler either. I like to laugh, but giggling bugs. Nope, no pirate costumes, sorry.... :)

J&D- thanks for all the heads up for the clicks! :thumbsup2

GM- Incredible that your grandparents are at 63 years of marriage! That's so great! I think my grandparents made it to 54 before my grandma passed away. Something to strive for, right? Cute comment your DH made about the bathtubs. :teeth: Have fun at the outlets!

Ryan- GREAT pics- I still need to watch the vid clip. I'm sorry you are without your car for so long. Very frustrating....and I hope your house closes SOON so you can start moving!

SL- Very cute shirt! You should sell custom made shirts on e-bay.

Gems- Congrats to Shelby on her tooth and for sleeping in her crib.

lissawynn- Cute names.

Alice- Hope your headache goes away soon. Glad to hear that the carpet looks nice.

TTFN!

Robin - sorry about the headache. But I need to bug you for your opinion again. I have 4-5 outfits from Gymboree that are 3-6 month size....I took the pics of them and am ready to start working on listing. Do you think I would do better selling them seperately, or as a lot? My fear is maybe someone will not buy the lot because they don't like one outfit....or that I could get less for the lot. Or, that I will get less just selling the outfit! I am so confused. I checked Ebay and it doesn't look like some of the outfits are selling at all. Any professional advice appreciated.

Ryan - I tried to watch the video but it kept pausing after about 20 seconds into it. :guilty:

I just made a HUGE pot of chili. I'm dreaming of eating it over tortilla chips, smothered in cheese, sour cream, and maybe some black olives. I was also thinking that I could make nachos similar to what I had at WCC. It was their chili over chips with cheese, olives, lettuce, and tomatoes. I better pop a Zantac before I gobble it down.

Alice - I hear you about having a house in disarray. I'm dreading having to unload our bedroom closets, hall closets, and moving all of our br furniture into our living room. I can't even begin to imagine how much dust and debris is going to be all over after they cut through our exisiting ceiling and DH begins knocking down walls, etc. Maybe I'll just pack up everything and try to find a home for it in the basement. Then I have to find a place for my kitties. I'm thinking they're going to be basement bound until the majority of the work is done. Hank, our spiteful cat, will probably hate that and take it out by spraying in our basement.
Maybe it would be easier to move! :confused3
I hope your headache is getting better. Try to take it easy. Is it decent enough outside that you can open up your windows and air out the house?
I'll be able to get into my room on Friday. Dad is going to watch Jimmy tomorrow while I'm at my drs. appt. and I might have him keep him for a few hours on Friday to unload some stuff at school. The problem is, once I get there, I want to do everything.

Are the outfits of the same line? If yes, I would sell them as a lot. If no, I would sell them individually. Is it fall/winter stuff? It should sell- if it's warm weather stuff, wait for February.

I sold a lot of layette that I bought last August- I just think it worked better as a lot....I've seen some lots of popular lines go for HUGE money. Like at least what the person probably paid for it! I think I got about 35-40% back on what I paid for that layette lot. Not bad. Good luck!

I'm on hold with the manufacturers of that slide Lucas has that's broken. I hope I can get a replacement part.

lissawynn - I love the names you picked out! Chili sounds so good. I think I'm just hungry. I may have DH pick me up some Chinese on his way home from work. I'm making a french bread pizza for lunch.

Alice28 - I hope your headache gets better soon. I get headaches often too, but they're not migranes - just sinus headaches. The smell of paint and carpeting will trigger them for me too.

Yay! They're going to send me a replacement part. That was easy enough. Wish I had thought of that earlier. Thanks to whoever suggested it to me.

The chili was really good. I didn't do it up nacho style; I'm thinking about that for dinner. Jimmy loves tortilla chips and even ate some black beans and some white ones, too.

SL - Glad you got the replacement part for the slide. Jimmy loves the Little Tikes playset that DH's parents have in their yard. I'm thinking we'll do something like that when our addition and deck is finished.

Jimmy is watching Dragon Tales. He managed to stuff five wooden puzzle pieces inside of his toy vacuum cleaner. Nice. Now I have to figure out a way to get them out. I managed to remove one a little while ago, but I don't know about five.

I'm going to empty the vacuum and hose off the filter and canister. I just hope it's nice enough outside to dry pretty quickly.

Lissawynn,
Oooh, your chili sounds so good. I should make some soon. Now that weather isn't so hot it's time to break back out the crockpot.

SL,
Glad you got your replacement part :thumbsup2 . I love your t-shirt idea. I may have to steal it and make one for Katrina. I have some iron on printer paper around here somewhere so all I would need is the shirt.

Robin,
I get migraines very easily now too. The worst thing for me is cigarette smoke :smokin: . I used to live in a house filled with chain smokers but since I've moved out on my own it really bothers me.

I'm looking forward to your carpet pics! I'm sure it looks great :) .

Bellacam,
Great pics! I think your dh and bro did a good job with the cake (better than I would have done sadly  .

J&D,
So Jenna is part monkey too? At least we should count ourselves luck that our little girls don't know how to get on the top of the fridge yet :rotfl: .

Hi to GM, Gems, FF, Loretta, Tamie, Hillbeans, GLT, and everyone  .

I've actually had a pretty productive day today. I've been getting done a lot of little odd and ends that have been piling up lately like refilling prescriptions, writing thank you cards etc. . It's amazing what a good night of sleep will do for you :thumbsup2 . I think we are over the hump with Katrina's bad sleeping. One of her top side teeth is now poking through so I think that was the culprit.

I need a few ideas if you guys don't mind. I'm planning a baby shower for my friend next door who is having a baby in a couple of weeks. She is also in the same sorority as I am so this will be her sorority shower. There will only be 7-8 people and it will be after she has had the baby.

I'm trying to think of some neat games, food and prizes. I already thought of the taste the baby food game (easy since I have a few jars leftover from Katrina) but after that I'm drawing a blank. I was also thinking of making the little candle holders out of baby food jars because I saved a bunch with the hopes of doing that project at some point. Maybe use those as decorations and favors? She is pretty sure she is having a girl but they never absolutely confirmed it. So anybody have any good baby shower ideas?

Robin,

I hope your headache doesn't last too long. I'm glad the carpet is finally in.

It's nice to have a resident ebay expert on this thread. :teeth:

As soon as we get our computer, I am going to list some stuff. I hope it won't be too late for Halloween costumes. DS and DD have decided to part ways with their Anakin and Darth Vader costumes.

GEM,

Great news about Shelby sleeping in her bed for so long!!

lissawynn,

Now I want to make chili. That sounds so good right now. Tonight we are having steak and tomorrow it is chicken enchildas.

Strawberry Lemonade,

I love the shirt design.

Tasha,

I'm glad the paycheck situation was straightened out. Good luck at school tomorrow. :grouphug: :thumbsup2

Not much to report here. I'm about to make lunch and we are hanging around the house today.

I have to make sure the kids have all their supplies for school and that's about it.

Dh had a brush with fame yesterday. He was at Gloria Estefan's house. She wasn't there so he didn't get to see her. We've seen her at various different restaurants in the area. She seems very laid back and nice.

That's my exciting news for the week. WOOPEE! :teeth:

My parents are in Memphis right now and I think their meeting is at 3pm. My Dad tends to get real emotional and I told him he really can't do that in a deposition. I'm sure their stomachs are in knots right now. If you wouldn't mind saying a quick prayer for them? That would be great.

Have any of you heard of a website called www.giftcardbuyback.com?? Somone posted a link to it on the budget board. I thought I would give it a try. Quite often, we will get gift cards to places we can't use. I'd love to heare your experience if you have used them. You can also buy gift cards at a reduced rate.

Val - For my friend Jen's shower, I made the TV Family Name Game. I had a bank filled with the tv kids' names. At the top I had the name of the show and sections of blanks for that family's names. It was a lot of fun and I'd never played it at a shower before. I think I still have a copy if you want it. I lost the file when my computer crashed, but I'd be happy to mail it out to you.

Floridafam - Chicken enchiladas sound really good. I plan on eating this chili for a few days. I'm sure we'll be grilling one night this week.

I managed to remove the puzzle pieces from the vacuum and cleaned out the real vacuum. Jimmy is watching Sesame Street, then it's nap time. I have to get his laundry done so I can take some spare stuff to my dad's. There were very few days when he came home in the same clothes he left in. I didn't know a little boy could get so messy.

I'm working on my rewards programs for the day while Jenna is napping. Here are some tips for the day.

The Blockbuster Online offer at Sunshine is up to $18.

The backpack for the My Points "Find Your Way Back to School" Sweepstakes is in the Computer Center. The prize for today is a Plasma TV. :cheer2:

lissawynn- I think I'll make chili for dinner. Thanks for giving me the craving for it.

floridafam- Sending prayers for your family. You can also list your GCs for free at mycoupons.com under the Garage Sale or Coupon/Rebate Swap boards. There is a fee at most other websites.

SL- That is great that they are sending a replacement part.

Gotta go. I have lots to do before Jenna wakes up.

Good afternoon, all! I swear, if I don't get on here before 6:30 am, I never catch up! I decided to do all the sheets and towels today (usually it's Wed.), so we could maybe go to the local zoo tomorrow. I'm so disappointed we haven't made it yet this summer!

SL--Loved the t-shirt for Lucas. My sister managed to find at a yard sale, a hat very simlar in theme with Sorcerer Mickey. I have it stashed away for Celeste to wear this trip.

Alisa--I hope you're feeling better--sounds like it, with the food cravings. I had ms the whole 9 months, and would go from famished to "oops, I'm going to hurl!" on a dime. Liver sounds really gross to me, but if it works for you, knock yourself out. Just don't put any hot fudge on them...

The nachos and chili sound good. I'm not a super "spicy" person, but when I can't have it because I'm nursing, I start to really crave it. When I wean, I'll be all over hot chicken wings and Mexican food like nobody's business!

We got everything set for Jocelyn's dance classes--it's 3 days of hip-hop next week, then she'll take an hour hip-hop class each week. She'll start out preteen, but they may move her up to teen depending on her skill level. Ballroom is in "wait and see" mode--my biggest issue there is, she thinks boys are disgusting. Now, I figure I have maybe a year or two before that changes, but who, exactly, does she think she's going to dance with? So she says maybe the boys at this studio won't be as obnoxious as the boys in her school. Well, yeah, possible, but I have yet to meet a boy who didn't make messes and think fart jokes were hysterical. Heck, some never outgrow either (meaningful look in DH's direction...).

I've been trying to get at least some small parts of my house organized, as I'm starting to have a little more energy since Luke is sleeping a little better. Also, the dance studio is right around the corner form the Salvation Army--good excuse to drop off a few truckloads of stuff. I pulled down some infant Gymbo for Luke--my best friend thoughtfully put all the Gymbo stuff in one bin, and it's like revisiting old friends! It really made my day, and all it took was a trip to the attic!

Jocelyn decided to make brownies today, and it was pretty hysterical. When she was using the spatula to put the batter in the pan, she would just shake the spatula to get the batter off. So, now I have a huge bunch of brown spatter decorating my kitchen! But hey, you have to learn sometime.

justthat--I'm sorry to hear that your mom was not being nice to Madison. Whatever other problems my mom had, she was always wonderful with my kids. My MIL, OTOH, plays favorites and isn't shy about criticizing what she considers bad behavior. I should also mention, although our other "sibling transitions" went fairly well, Celeste ahd a real tough time with Luke's arrival. I don't think it was Luke per se, but we had to leave her with a sitter for the entire day (I was induced starting at 8 am, he was born at 9:20 pm). Plus, I was in the hospital for 2 days. So if you look at Madison, not only were you away, but she also gave up camp at exactly the same time. And here she was all used to a routine, and then Mom disappears, camp goes away, and add a new baby in the mix. So, I'm sure she'll be fine long term, but you could see how, with all this going on, she might not be having the best behavior. Not to mention that your typical 2yo isn't the easiest creature on the planet on their best day. But, that's all real typical and to be expected. I'm kind of surprised that your mom doesn't remember that, since she's been down this road. Then again, she may be tired herself--we all know how tiring a toddler can be! Anyway, I hope things get better for you, and Henry's bili levels improve and he gains nicely. I miss the "baby-baby" days! Luke is rolling over and babbling and grabbing everything in sight.

The contractor dropped off the revised information for the addition. DH has to look things over when he gets home. He called a little while ago, but I wasn't reading everything to him over the phone. I have no idea what half of the abbreviaitons mean and he would just have me repeating stuff.
We are also considering calling another builder for an estimate. He was recommended by my mom's BF (who was also a contractor). He says he does great work and is painfully honest. I think that's a great quality in a builder.

As far as nutty neighbor goes, they had another contractor at their house last night. DH saw his truck on the walk home from his parents' house. It was the same guy who gave us the estimate last summer to build an addition onto the back of our house. He wanted $55,000 for a master br and bath and a 2 car garage. He didn't seem at all interested in building up for us. I can't imagine what that would have cost, and I honestly don't think the neighbors could afford him. He does great work, but he is not cheap. Her DH makes something in the ballpark of what my DH makes, but she is SAHM. Also, they have 4 kids to take care of vs. my salary and 1 child. I can't wait to see how this all plays out. I can totally hear her telling our contractor that he can do the work at their house if it gets done before ours.

BnB - The brownie mess is something I can relate to when DH cooks. I don't know how he manages to make the mess that he does. I've just given up and always reclean when he's done.

J&D - I hope you were able to get some work done while Jenna napped. Jimmy "should" be sleeping by now. I haven't heard him talking to Baby Tad in a while.

Alice - I meant to ask you how your DH is doing with his new job?

Btw, if you could all spare some good vibes for my mom, I'd appreciate it. She had a second interview for an office mgr. position at a local nursing home yesterday. She'll know tomorrow whether or not she got the job. It's really close to home and would be great for her. She's driving like 50 miles a day with the job she has now.

lissawynn- thanks for asking about DH. He LOVES his new job. They are already talking of promoting him to Security Operations Manager for Kaiser NW. It would be another $6000 a year. I don't think he's ever loved a job like he loves this one. :thumbsup2

Hope everything works out with your contractor....and the nutty neighbor.

My head is still just killing me. I'm trying to stay busy to be distracted from it. All of Molly's stuff is upstairs in her room now. I may try to put her crib back together if my brain will start functioning again. I put DH's dressers back together, and made our lovely mattress laying on the floor. I'm really looking forward to sleeping on it the next 10 days. :sad2: I got the clothes all switched around in the closets- the boys helped a lot, so that was good. The storage room is still overflowing with a ton of stuff, but that can just slowly come out - it's all the boy's toys and books, DVDs. I need DH's help to get Molly's dresser upstairs- it's really, really heavy. And our TV.

I will take some pictures now and upload later.

TTFN-

Today I'm a posting maniac. I have loads of house stuff I could be doing, but I'm watching GH instead. I am going to run the dishwasher and wash the couple things in the sink when it's over. How am I going to keep up with my soap when I have to go back to work?

I really need to go to the grocery store before work starts. I think I'm going to stockpile and freeze some chicken and beef so I won't be running to the store everyday trying to figure out what we're having for dinner. I guess I should hold off on that until I find out when we're going to be moving into my mom's.

Alice - Sounds as if you accomplished a lot today. Don't overwork yourself if you're not feeling well. It will all get done.
