Okay, the smilies aren't working for me and neither is quick reply. I also keep getting annoying pop-up type messages since the upgrade. I'm not sure I like these new changes yet. I hope they work out the kinks soon!
But anyway...
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your day so far. We have had a great Christmas so far. We went to my mom's last night. Kylie got a rocking horse which she loves. She also got a few other things but the rocking horse was her big gift. Kylie was in a great mood all day yesterday and she didn't even have a nap. I was shocked she wasn't more grumpy but she did really well.
She got one of those learn and feel type of puppies, a singing Dora doll, and her 1st Cabbage Patch baby, books, a couple of DVDs, clothes, etc. from us and Santa. We had breakfast at my MILs this morning and she got a Dora doll (a different one than the one we got her thankfully), a Dora stroller that she absolutely loves, money, and clothes. She has had a great Christmas so far and has been beyond excited about everything (except the clothes of course! That'll change in a few years, I'm sure.) We had to get up far too early though! We are going to my dh's grandmother's for lunch so we came home to crash before that. Dh and Kylie are asleep so I thought I'd do a quickie post. I wasn't planning to take a nap but I didn't sleep well last night and I am starting to feel drowsy. I will probably take a 45 min. nap. It's 10:15 and we have to be up by 11 so we won't be late. Anyway, I am taking pics but I haven't gotten my digital camera yet so I will have to get my film developed before I can post any. I will post some pics later this week sometime.
Kylie still has a few gifts from other relatives that she will receive this afternoon. My sisters also got her the Feliz Navidad Dora (the girl is set on Dora dolls for a while I think!) but she hasn't gotten it yet. My dad gave her her gifts last week. She got a doll, a potty chair, and a couple other odds and ends. She's one spoiled kid!
Oh, and I got a beautiful locket with Kylie's picture in it. It says mom on the outside. It's heart-shaped. It was my gift from Kylie. She also got me Winnie the Pooh slippers. She picked those out of course. Dh bought me some diamond earrings. I got a sweater and $100 from the ILs. My dad also gave us money, which is also greatly appreciated! My mom got me a few little things too. We've had a great day. It's been really fun celebrating with Kylie this year. Well, going to get that nap now. Have a great day everyone!
ETA: A woman that we know that goes to church with the ILs also had breakfast with us this morning. Her dh of over 50 years passed away a few months ago and it's her first Christmas w/o him. Her son is in the military and she doesn't have anyone else so MIL decided to invite her. I thought that was very sweet. You really take it for granted, ya know, but there are so many people without family on Christmas. It's very sad.
Also, if you are so inclined, there are 2 families that I'd like you to keep in your prayers. Last month a house exploded in a community by ours. 2 women, two 2 year olds, and a 3 year old were severely burned. They were all transferred and are all in a burn unit in Georgia. The 3 year old died Saturday. The others are still in critical condition but supposedly getting better. Please pray for them. I can't imagine what they are and will be going through and they lost the 3 year old 2 days before Christmas.
Also another family had a house fire Saturday. The mom and the son got out. The 6 year old and 4 year old daughters died of smoke inhalation. I cannot even begin to imagine how awful Christmas is this year and more than likely always will be for that family. Again, it happened 2 days before Christmas. I didn't know any of these people but my heart is just breaking for them. I cried a little when I heard what happened. We had known about the 3 year old's family since it happened and it was really awful to hear he died. And then the 2 girls... Please pray if you are the praying type. I can't imagine the pain they are all in.
Well, so much for that nap...oh, well! Sorry to be a downer. Christmas has been great for us but I can't imagine how awful it is for some people and those families can no doubt use any and all prayers right now. I hope you guys are having a great day!
