Anyone know why none of the value resorts are available May 9-11 weekend? I have a conference at Universal that starts on the 12th. We figured we would fly in on Friday the 9th, spend the weekend at WDW, before heading over to US. Since it is just me and the wife, and we will be at the park all day, our thought was to just book a value resort. I did a check this morning on resorts and none of the value resorts are available.

May 13-16 at BLT. First time staying as actual owners and really hoping to get a refurbished room.

May 16- 20 at VGF (our first home resort)

Our daughter really wants to do the Up Close with Rhinos tour. Do we have much of a chance getting a reservation?

Yea, I have to imagine that is it. I know the cheer competitions use the all star resorts for the packages they offer to the participants. So maybe its a good thing the value resorts are not available. LOL. I guess it's POR for us.

Big cheer competition summit is happening around that time. Early May is prime cheer/dance season and they book up all the values (and Coronado)

I am wondering if the cheer competition coincided with the conference this year and that is why they moved it to Universal. Usually it is at Disney World every year.

Probably! I know those cheer groups book enormous blocks of rooms and then there is the overflow from families who can't get in on the actual blocks. I would imagine another conference would not see any availability at all to get their own blocks.

May 11-16 for my daughter's Make a Wish Trip. We are all very excited to say the least.

Was able to snag a reservation for All Star Sports this morning. I figured since we will only be in the room to sleep and we always drive our rental car to the parks, the cheer competition crowd shouldn't effect us that much at the resort.

May 4 - 8 at Swan. Best part, crashing with a friend that is traveling for work -> FREE ROOM at a resort I've never even visited!

Nice! The rooms over there were just recently renovated too. It's a great resort, I hope you enjoy it.

May 5 is EEH at AK instead of the usual Epcot. For those that are there during that time. We arrive May 13 so interested to see what they do while we are there.

It’s probably just a corporate event for 5/6. I wouldn’t read anything into it

I read it's actually 5/5 which is the Monday (and usually an Epcot EEH). I'm guessing they are already expecting bigger crowds at Epcot due to Cinco de Mayo so they shifted to AK. We're actually at a Deluxe Resort the following week. Kinda wish it was that week!

They've never done that before and tbh Cinco de Mayo has really never had an impact on crowds enough to shift a whole EEH to another park.

Corporate buyouts of Epcot for evening private events otoh are very very common

It is showing as EEH at AK on May 5 in the MDE app but not online yet. Not sure why but it does seem to be shifted from Epcot for some reason.
