***The Official May 2016 Thread!!***

I have my room and tickets (AP) covered, waiting for the Southwest dates to be available (I'm estimating my return date of 5/22 should be available by mid-Oct., judging by how far ahead you can book today), but what's going to be awesome (terrible?), is that my ADR date comes up during my November trip! So here's hoping the wifi at All-Star Movies is decent, and that I'm not too exhausted to miss a 6am alarm lol

I'm a little annoyed because Southwest flights are only released for the departure leg of our trip in October. The return leg isn't until June 5, so not sure what to do about booking flights!

Can't you book 2 one-way trips instead of a round trip?

Yes, I've just figured that out though. I'm not an experienced flyer and didn't know that Southwest has the same fares for direct flights as round trips. I emailed my agent to ask and she said I could just book two direct flights. Yay!

They're going to release dates through June 3rd on October 27th Can't wait! Flights then ADRs both done within a few days!

Change of plans......rather than on on property split stay, we're gonna have to stay OFF property this time. My dh really wants to try off anyway, but we need to make this a budget trip. We have 5 ppl, which puts us out of a simple value room and his 19 yr old sister is coming also. So 6 ppl. I found a condo at Windsor hills for $88 a night. We will have our own vehicle. Plus figuring in $17 a day to park. I was kind of bummed at first bc I had such an amazing plan but I'm now excited to try it this way too. We'll be at disney, how could NOT have s good time??!!! Where we stay is secondary!

That being said, I'm planning subsequent trips already. Lol thinking maybe next fall I can talk him into just me & him flying down for a 3 day weekend with no kids.....we've both said it would be so nice to go without kids....

Hey! We are starting to look at tentative dates as well - in 2014 we went in May and were able to get the last weekend of F&G and the first weekend of SWW - any ideas if that will be possible again next year (I know that dates are not out for either but just curious your thoughts). Thanks!

That's what we're aiming for too, whether or not it'll work is a different story. We've got 7-21/5/16 booked but doing Disney the first 8 days the universal/shopping the other 6. So fingers crossed we'll catch both!

Well we were not going again till we got married in 2017 but my mom passed and dad isn't in the best so we are going Apr 30 to may 8th wensday I will be calling member services. We ar looking to stay in a 1 bedroom savanna view as that's one place mom always wanted to stay
So it will be myself my son his first trip as an adult my fiance and my dad who will be going in January with my sister niece and grand nephew

So happy I found this thread! We are going in May for 14 nights at the Saratoga Springs and it's feeling like waaay too long a wait haha! Happy to see that others are all booked up for then too

Hello all! It took me literally 40 minutes to find this thread and I'm so glad I did...lol. Consider my family and I apart of the May 2016 family. We're looking at going the 4th week of May. This will be our 3rd trip to WDW and our 2nd time going in May. We were originally set to go in Oct 2016 (and I'm still planning to go as I've fallen in love with F&WF and MNSSHP) but I couldn't imagine waiting that long. So when DH so 'lets go in May' I all but jumped on the bandwagon...lol I look forward to sharing, obsessing, planning, and down right plotting to have a good trip with you wonderful people

We wound up booking similar to the way you did, we where planning October but my partners parents are going in May, I said one day that it would be nice if we could all go together next time and he started doing the math without telling me then suggested it the next day. I nearly took his hand off at the offer!

A Disney vacation is the only kind of vacation I know that requires 3 or more countdowns haha! Countdown to the actual trip, countdown to the 180 mark and a countdown to fastpass date... sooo much planning but I love it!

I was not expecting pixie dust already! I received an email with a 25% off promo/pin code for our dates next may-june! Called disney and had it applied within 5 minutes! We saved $1000 on our preferred room!

I'm looking at doing a solo trip for my birthday in May! I'm hoping to put that $60 credit I have with SW to good use. I don't have dates set yet, but it will all depend on how much the flights will cost and what kind of discounts I can get for the resort. I'm looking at the first two weeks since my birthday is the 2nd though.

Tickets purchased, room reserved at the Boardwalk, and finally booked flights Sunday when Jetblue released May dates.

Now just counting down to ADR day...which of course is 6 AM on the day I leave on a business trip overseas. I'm notorious for staying up late the night before to finish packing, then to be up (and functional) by 6...no sleep for me on Nov 10!

I'll be going in May 2016 but just for 1.5 days! Right before my cruise! It'll be my 10th Disney resort stay and my 5th cruise!
