The Official May 2015 Thread!!

From what I understand there is a cheerleading competition the last weekend of April & the first weekend of May. I thought the Expedition Everest Challenge was May 2nd...I could be wrong though. Hopefully crowds won't be an issue. This is our first time going this time of uear, but from what I have researched crowd levels are usually on the lower side. Keeping my fingers crossed!

You are right, I was looking at this years date. Not the 2015 one.

Whoo Whoo, finally got the dates to book for our last family trip with our grown up girls. Next time we go may be a few years from now, so we have to make the most of this trip. So excited!!!!

Got you added!:cool1:

Hi everyone! We just booked a trip for April 28 - May 5!! (I posted over on the April page too, wasn't sure where I fell in at! LOL!) This will be our children's first trip to WDW! (DD4 & DS2) We are so excited! DH & I have been many times but not since our Honeymoon in Oct 2008! Talk about going through Disney withdrawal! :upsidedow This is our first time going at this time of year so I don't know anything about the crowds or weather, etc. I did some research so it seems to be a good time of year. Now I need to decide which ADRs to get! This is a bug surprise for the kids, so no one knows we booked this trip yet! LOL! April can't come soon enough!! :hourglass

:yay: Got you added too!

May 5-15! Staying at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. First time staying deluxe!

A family friends owns at VWL and gave us a great deal per point ($9!) for the rental. Have the regular dining plan and plan on doing breakfast in the room, quick service lunch and sit-down dinners. Hopefully Thursday goes okay for making dining reservations.

My husband and I are trying to keep it a secret from our 14 year old girls where we are staying until we pull up (normally we do a split stay; start at POP then more to one of the mods).

:cheer2: Yay! I've got you added!

My fiance and I will be arriving May 21st and staying the Caribbean.

We get married at Sea Breeze Point on the 25th.

Then our three kids will join us and we will leave on the 30th.

SOOO excited. I haven't been to Disney World since before the Animal Kingdom opened... showing my age here :)

Congrats!! Welcome aboard!

We leave Alaska on May 20, get to WDW on the 21st staying in a LM room at AoA. We will be there for 5 nights! So 21-26th!!!

It is a surprise for our going to be 6 years old daughter as well as my DH, and DDs first trip :)

Wow! My husband would love to visit Alaska! I've got you added!

May 28-June 3!! Just booked on Friday! We are staying at Pop Century. Myself, DH, DD7, and DD3.

Woo Hoo! Got you added!

:cool1: :cool1:
Was able to get all of my dining!

All dinners~
Be Our Guest, 5th & 9th
Cape May Cafe, 6th
The Crystal Palace, 7th
50's Prime Time Cafe, 8th
Hoop-Dee-Doo, 10th
Liberty Tree Tavern, 12th
Via Napoli, 13th
'Ohana, 14th

Adding on Hoop-Dee-Doo loses us one dinner but I have heard good things about the show and in all the times we have been to Disney we have never done a dinner show. My husband and I decided on May 11th we would have a late start day, check out Downtown Disney, cook something easy in the room and then have dedicate pool time.

Wayhey! Dining nearly all sorted :)

We got all we wanted, just got to add Beaches & Cream next week when the remainder of our window opens! So far we have...

Garden Grill for dinner with Chip n' Dale
T-Rex for lunch
Wishes Desert Party
Hollywood & Vine Disney Jr for breakfast
Tusker House for breakfast with Donald & Co
O'hana for breakfast with my beloved Stitch :p

Super excited now...next stop, Fastpasses! Eeek!

I was able to FINALLY get my return flights for Easter week (that is April not May) but it was on Southwest. Is it just me or did the price jump like crazy? In the time I was booking the (already pricey) leg, it jumped 2,000 points each - up 4,000 by the time I was finished booking! Luckily I was able to get them at the 2,000 jump not the 4,000! That is what I get for booking tickets when I get to work and not before I leave! I needed to use DHs account for the tickets because he had more points and it was a total fiasco...I had a very nice woman on the phone helping me and she saved them before they went up any more...Whew - that was a stressful morning!

My roundtrip tickets in May are cheaper than the 1 way coming home for Easter :scared1:

I have adr's next week for the May trip and I am so unorganized with it! I have got to get on it!

So flights for southwest came out today. We don't fly often so I don't know if it's better to book now or wait. Will the price come down? I've heard southwest runs good blackfriday deals. I don't want to risk missing out on the flights we want. Any advice??

My experience is that if you are flying at a heavily traveled time, book the minute the schedule opens...Above you will see my post about how I waited and the darn price was going up as I was trying to purchase. That was on Southwest. If it is a not so busy time then you could get a sale, it just depends on when and where. The good thing about Southwest is that they will give you credits towards another flight if it does end up going cheaper. You have a year to use them from when you purchased the tickets.

Our May tickets didn't seem that bad. $155 each way per person, plus early-bird check-in. Up about $5-$8 if you were to fly now.

When I was booking online trying to decide to come home on the 11th or 12th I saw a flight jump up $8. That was within 15 minutes of flights going live.

I got Memorial Day weekend on jet blue for 222.00 rt from New York. I was very happy about that! This flight was paid by points so I guess I shouldn't complain. I just couldn't believe how fast they were going up. I think a lot of ppl have been waiting!

We are going to WDW May 16th-24th and staying at the Yacht Club! So so excited! Booked our flights on Southwest this morning. ADRs next week! Disney!!!

So excited. We were booked to go this Christmas, but my mom is having health issues so we moved the trip to May and added my brother and his family and my sister to the trip! WOOHOO. We will be staying at All Star Movie and we are excited for the pools - we have only ever stayed at Port Orleans Riverside in December so we have never used the pools there, too cold and lines too long to be in the pool lol! I am used to moderate resorts but I am going with the flow to stay with my sibs and their families at the value. It looks fun! We booked our flights on Southwest today thanks to this site - I didn't know the flights already came out. YAY!!!!! :)
