The Official May 2015 Thread!!

Go ahead and add us on for May 1-May 11 for CSR! Haven't booked yet but these almost surely look like our dates and we loved CSR last time we were there! We'll probably do the deluxe dining plan, in hopes of using up those snack credits at the Flower and Garden Festival @ Epcot!! Can't wait...so excited to be planning right along with the rest of you!

Yay!! More members for the dance party!! I've got you added!

For those who have already done early May...how do you tend to find the weather and crowds?

We love May. It’s our favourite time to visit :goodvibes

Weather is usually great, you do get the usual Florida downpour, which lasts around 20 minutes and then gone as quick as it arrives, but most days are glorious. Late 80’s, early 90’s most days and not too humid we’ve found in the past.

Crowds, last time we went was 2010, were manageable. I don’t know if this has changed over the last 4 years though, as I’ve heard there’s not many quiet times at the World anymore. Last time we never really queued more than 30 minutes for rides, including most headliners. I don’t want to comment what it will be like with the FP+ changes though?! :confused3

Ah, I’ve never looked at Tuskerhouse before for character dining – it looks lovely! I think I may have to put this one into my planner, my LO will be 3 when we go and she loves Mickey, Donald & co, so this one sounds great. And a quick look at the menu looks like it’d suit us to the ground. Plenty of choice it seems. Thanks for the tip! :)

That was our favorite meal for my spring break trip, we plan to go back in October.

Just found this thread...have a lot reading to do....please add us to your list..our dates are 5/1 to 5/12 Wilderness Lodge or French Quarter...still debating...we love both resorts

Thanks for the feedback! I'm hoping w/ the combination of FP+ and hopefully manageable crowds that we'll be ok...our last visit was in September and the crowds were super low so I don't have much to compare to...excited to return either way though!

That's also my outlook on things. I'm trying to not let the whole FP+ saga stress me out too much. I'm going on holiday and I will enjoy every second, regardless of if I hit everything I want to or not.

We of course have the luxury of being able to have been there before, so if we don't get to catch everything, then least we haven't missed out this time. I will say though, this is my first trip with my DD and I think with her only being aged 3 at the time of our trip, I think it'll be a whole different kinda trip than previous ones anyway, as I want to make it as magical as possible for her. I envisage a lot more time 'soaking up the atmosphere', being on the play parks, splashing in the water and meeting the characters...which for me, sounds like bliss anyway :hyper:

For those who have already done early May...how do you tend to find the weather and crowds?

We did the week before Memorial day last year and didn't find the crowds or the heat to be bad. That was our first trip so we really don't have anything to compare it to. But I think the longest posted wait time we saw was 40minutes and that was for Mt Everest. I couple things said 20 or 25 minute wait and the wait was only about 10-15 minutes.
We're from Louisiana so we're use to the heat. The only day that the heat really bothered us was the last day we were there. It was the day MK was open for 24hrs. It was HOT!! You could feel the heat coming off the concrete and it was packed! We ended up going back to the hotel earlier than planned.
Most days we went back to our room and rested during the hottest park of the day.
We did decide that we would never go in June, July or August. I don't know how people do it.

I'm going the 14th through the 15th to see Star Wars Weekends for the first time!:cool1:

Oh wow! Is that confirmed for SW weekends? :cheer2: I've never actually had chance to catch them and I'd love to go and see some of the action!

For those of you that have booked already are you calling Disney and booking just the room? Then adding the package later? I'm trying to decided when we should book. I was hoping to book everything online in June but not sure if the dates will be available yet.

Those overseas can book packages much farther out than those in the US/Canada.

If you are in the US/Canada you can book the room at 499 days out (with a deposit of one night at the highest pricing of the year), and then when packages come out you can change it to a package.

Wow! :worship: I'm so going to have to check it out, despite the crowds!

Hate to be the one to tell you this, but 2015 Star Wars Weekends dates haven't been announced yet. The dates the PP is talking about is the first weekend of 2014.

If I were to guess I would bet that May 15th-17th 2015 will be a SWW date though.

I actually wondered that!!

Either way, with or without SW weekends, we'll have an awesome time :goodvibes

Planning to go May 9-16, 2015. Will be our 12th anniversary and taking DS7 and DD10. Planning on POR but hoping a great deal is offered during our dates as we would love to stay at WL. :)

We just hit our 1 year mark the other day :p doesn't it feel good :) Just think we will be at Disney this time next year :cool1:
