The Official MARCH 2012 Thread! Countdown to Spring Break TOGETHER!!

I must admit I'm a little overwhelmed at the cost of this trip! Last time we had the buy 4 get 3 free deal so a week at the Poly with tickets was $3600. This time it's $5700:scared1: I know we could stay somewhere ceaper but the Poly is like our family resort and we can make it work, just have to tighten the beltstraps.... for 8 months :lmao:

Does your stay fall during the new free dining dates?

Subscribing :cool2:

Can't decide which week though.
Normally go during Spring Break (teacher) but would like to go a week earlier. However, we were scorned today at our inservice for taking too many personal days.:confused3

Hi! Nice to 'meet' you all! :) I don't have exact dates, and I don't know where we're staying, but I DO know that we will be going sometime in March! My DD's school band and chorus will be doing a big trip to Disney, so I figured that was a perfect excuse to go back! (not like I really NEED an excuse, but it sounds good!) DH didn't want to go back until we make it out west to see Yellowstone-but I managed to talk him into it! :rolleyes1

Hi! I'm in!

Booked March 4th-10th at POFQ, we got in on the free dining. It will be me, my mom and DS who will be 5 then. Can't wait only 1 month till time to book ADR's.

We've never been in the spring before, does anyone know what the weather will be like in early March? My DS and I went last December the week before Christmas. Will the temps be warmer or about the same? Either way who care we'll be at WDW! :cloud9:

Just booked today for 3/3-3/10!!!

Two rooms at ASMusic for me, Mom, Son, DIL, and two grandbabies. Brother and his family will also be going. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Figment - Thank you very much! We are super excited, and right now working on how to tell the girls. I'll keep you posted on how that goes! Good to know it's going to be a managable busy, that makes me feel a little better! We originally wanted October, but that didn't work - so March it is.
Let us know how you decide to tell her- still trying to figure out how to tell my 4 year old and 2 year old

Excited to be taking my DS (2 yrs) and DD (4 yrs) this spring break March 15th-24th staying at Caribbean! 8 day park hopper and currently trying to figure out dinning as we will be booking ADR sooner than later! Glad to find all of you as my DH thinks I'm a little Disney Crazy!

Can anyone tell me how the crowds would be March 3-9? I'm not sure when college spring break is and if that really affects Disney either. Does the South get a mid winter break around then?

Anyone help would be appreciated!!!!

In our state (Virginia) spring break is usually the week before or the week following Easter, which is like April 8th, if I remember correctly. So the first 2 weeks in April would be spring break here for most students.

I DO know that most colleges have a spring break that week - March 3rd through 9th - because that's why we're going! It's our oldest daughter's spring break from college (our other children are homeschooled).

I don't think the crowds will be that bad. I've heard that the first 2 weeks in March (assuming there isn't an early Easter) are fairly low.

Will be crossing fingers for both of us for low crowds and great weather!!

Having grown up near WDW I got to go all the time.

But I just booked out first family trip. My wife and 3 kids have NEVER been to WDW.

We are coming March 10-17, 2012 and staying at the All star Movie Resort.

We cant wait! My kids are 15, 13 and 1 and were bouncing off the walls when I showed them the reservation cofirmation. LOL....:yay:

I also grew up in Orlando! My childhood is filled with wonderful Disney memories.

We took our son to Disneyland when he turned 5. This will be our daughter's first trip to meet the Mouse.

We're going March 3-10. I'm bummed that free dining came out for that week. We're staying at WBC so my hopes of getting ADR's to Cindy's for breakfast before rope drop are slowly fading. :(

Regardless, it should be a magical trip!

So excited to see the hours although I'm sure they will change before March. Oh well, another reason to update my spreadsheet! We are staying at BLT from 3/9-3/18. Can't wait!

I've noticed a lot of crowd/weather questions and since we go frequently, including during March the past two years, I thought I'd give my two cents. I teach at a university so we go to take advantage of my spring break. It is usually in mid-March, right around St. Patrick's day. This year it is from 3/12-3/18. Anyway, two years ago it was one of the busiest times I have ever seen (and we go a lot). Parks were closing early due to capacity, hours were extended on the fly, extra CMs were being called in or having their shifts extended (this is what they told me). The weather was also very cold for March (it was mainly pants and sweatshirts, especially at night), but it was also a record-setting cold winter the entire year. I was a little nervous when we went this year (the same week in March) but the crowds weren't bad at all and it was 80-85 degrees everyday (and we were there for 10 days). So, I guess the moral of the story is, hope for the best but prepare for the worst!

We're not going for spring break - my kids' is in April- but we'll be there in March! Mar 3-10, we'll be at the Poly. We have not changed our dates for free dining so we're hoping for a good room discount!! My BIL, SIL and nephew (5) are going as well- they'll be at WL. And also some friends, they have 2 boys (9 and 6) and they'll be at AKL. We'll do a lot of touring and dining together, but it's nice for everyone to have their own space to retreat to.

That sounds like a great time!

We are there the same date! Although my kids are younger (2/4) but we are so excited! We're bringing the grandparents for the first time... I just wish it would hurry up and get here... at least I'll have Christmas to take my mind off it for a few months!

Hi! We just booked our first trip for March 10-17th! I originally picked that week because of the Free Dining and I thought I read somewhere that the first two weeks in March were less busy. BUT...now I keep reading the opposite everywhere, in fact one website listed this week as an 11 on a scale from 1 to 10, and the week before it was only a 3. Now I am worried that we picked a bad week. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
