The Official MARCH 2012 Thread! Countdown to Spring Break TOGETHER!!

Hi! We just booked our first trip for March 10-17th! I originally picked that week because of the Free Dining and I thought I read somewhere that the first two weeks in March were less busy. BUT...now I keep reading the opposite everywhere, in fact one website listed this week as an 11 on a scale from 1 to 10, and the week before it was only a 3. Now I am worried that we picked a bad week. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The entire state of Texas has spring break from March 10-17. I'm not sure about other areas of country but I would expect that week to be busy. Touring Plans shows that week in the 7-10 range.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Can you possibly switch to the week before? Touring Plans shows the crowd levels as 3-5 that week.

Hi all! We are going to WDW March 12-16 We usually go for two or three day trips so we are looking forward to a longer trip and being able to hop around. We're getting the FL weekday only pass. Not sure where we are staying yet. I go back and forth about staying on site or off. BTW it is the week Most FL schools have Spring Break so it should be busy.

I dont know if the TP.com estimates are always right. I had 3's and 5's for my last trip which was the first week in Oct in 2010. Everyone must have had the same ideas that we had because we had horrible crowds everywhere we went. So the opposite may happen for you. Listed as 8's and 9's but end up being like a 3 or 4 level.

I just try to go when the weather will be nice, and I think that week you go will be nice. With the right TP you can get everything you want done. Just go with the attitude that its going to be crowded and maybe you'll get lucky and it wont be that crowded.

Whats got you concerned? The 4 or 5 people on here that have stated they are going that week, or is it something else driving your fear?

Everytime we go I freak out about crowds and the truth is you cant predict any more than you can predict the weather.

March 18-23. Renting points at Bay Lake!! Super excited, we havent been since 2007 when our kids were 5 and 6 months. This time both kids will have a blast. It's our spring break as well, and know it will be crowded. But, the only other time we've been is Christmas week, so maybe it won't seem so crowded to us after being there then. Regardless how many people are there, it'll be a great time. Just gotta try and figure out our ADRs in the next couple weeks before that 180 day window gets here and we all start competing for the ressies we all want!

We haven't told the kids yet either, planning on using it as a Christmas surprise for them...hope I can wait that long, it's already killing me not saying anything to them!

We are going March the 17th-24th staying at the poly. My daughter is a teacher so we always go spring break and have a great trip each time. We arrive early to the parks and take an afternoon break returning in the evening. The weather is nice this time of year and as others have said YOU ARE IN DISNEY Hope everyone has a great time and takes back memories they will always cherish. Kay

So excited to see the hours although I'm sure they will change before March. Oh well, another reason to update my spreadsheet! We are staying at BLT from 3/9-3/18. Can't wait!

glad I'm not the only crazy who is constantly updated my spreadsheet! Any suggestions on what to include? I have hours, EMH, FP rides, favorites

Count us in too! We are going March 10-17th and staying at POR again. We had this booked before we left in August! DH todld me over dinner he wishes it was spring break already!

Waiting to be able to book ADRs. I hate the fact that the hours posted change before March, makes it hard to book ADRs so early.

Count me in too! We had so much fun last year at spring break we're doing it again! March 22-31, split stay at BLT and BWV. We've never stayed at a MK resort so I am extra excited about BLT, but we also the Epcot area so we're doing both.

Last year's crowds were definitely busy but if you go early and avoid the busiest parks it can be very manageable. We had great weather (60s-80s) but one day of monsoon rains. We went in early December of 2010 thinking it would be all slow and it was almost as busy as it was in March (and it was during a cold snap!)

I also add parade and show information to my spreadsheet. I ended up putting it all in a word document with a page for each day showing TGM's and TP's crowd estimates for the day, each parks' hours and parades, fireworks, etc., and our ADRs. It was great. (I used the little disney font too - fun!)

It seems soooooo far away but I know it will be here sooner than we think!!

These sheets are pretty reliable. We used them for our February visit and I don't think they changed at all. At least I don't remember them changing.

We haven't finalized how we're doing it yet. Need to get on the ball and order some personalized message for them. Should probably get started on that!

This is my VERY FIRST POST!!! My family and I (me, hubs and DS8 & DD2) will be there March 25- March 30!!!! We are SOOOO excited!!!! My son turns 8 on March 25! Happy Birthday!!! How AWESOME is that???? We're staying at POR!
