The Official MARCH 2012 Thread! Countdown to Spring Break TOGETHER!!

We were actually supposed to be at WDW right now, but had to postpone. So the new trip is March 7-13. The first night is at the All Star Movies, and then we check in at Coronado Springs for Free Dining!:yay:

So even though I am bummed we had to cancel, I am happy that our plans changed. We now are staying longer, get Free Dining, and are at a Moderate for most of the trip, instead of at a Value the whole time!:dance3:

We will be at OKW from March 3-10!! We rented DVC points before free dining was announced, but I'm excited to stay in a DVC resort at such an affordable rate so it's a fine trade off for me. We do have ADRs at Crystal Palace (even though we don't have kids we always like to get one character meal in!) and one at Cape May Cafe (DH loves the seafood options). We will also be doing Keys to the Kingdom and Behind the Seeds. We're taking a more relaxed approach and trying to do "off the beaten path" things since it will be DH and I going solo for the first time (we usually travel with large family groups)

This will be our 3rd Spring Training with Mickey during the first week of March, and I'm super excited. In March of 2010 we did only one park day at MK and DH and I were able to do every ride twice because the crowds were low. In March of 2011 Mardi Gras week happened to fall on the first week of March and the entirety of Louisiana seems to vacate and head to WDW so it was more crowded than I've ever seen it, even in summer months! This year Mardi Gras is earlier, so I'm hoping that will decrease the crowds a bit. As for weather in March 2010 it was cool, breezy and cloudy almost the entire time we were there, but in 2011 it was sunny and in the 80s!! Just wanted the March first timers to know the range of possibilities!! Luckily we drive so light packing is not a must for us!

I will be joining the March 2012 FB group! What a great feeling to only be 4 months away!

Thanks for the info, I have never been to WDW in March. Next year will be a first!

Is it normally warm enough for a lot of pool time? One of my nieces is pool crazy, so we are staying at CSR so she has a great pool and slide. I'm sure hoping it is warm enough to get a lot of use out of it!

Well, we went March 2011 and I stayed on the sidelines while my kids swam like fish in the pool...I am a wienee and the water has to be just below the temp of bath water for me, but they were fine with it.

Look me up, Connie Cannon Sink. Friend me and I will start the group ASAP. BTW...I was on the March 2011 group too, so I remember a few of you ladies!

I can't find you!!

I also wanted to let you all know that I have a PTR (link in my siggy) - you might not be interested in the sewing portion of it - but my progressive Mini-Planner is starting to take shape. So, feel free to tag along. :lovestruc

Just thought I would post our park plan and ADRs too.:goodvibes

We are staying room only the first night at the All Star Movies. We had to cancel a room only stay at the last minute, and Disney would only transfer the deposit to another room only stay. They wouldn't transfer it to a package. The rest of the time we are at Coronado Springs.

3/7 Fly in around 3:30. Only 4 of the 6 of us are coming in then. One of my nieces has to go to school that day and the next, so her dad is flying in with her the next night. Of course there is no EMH park that night, so I'm not sure what we will do. Ideas?:confused3

3/8 Epcot/Disney Studios
3/9 Magic Kingdom. Breakfast at the Crystal Palace
3/10 Animal Kingdom/Epcot. Dinner at the Garden Grill
3/11 Disney Studios/Magic Kingdom. Lunch at the Prime Time, dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe
3/12 Magic Kingdom. Breakfast at the Kona Cafe, Dinner at the California Grill.
3/13 Head home.

Goodness, I'm so excited already that I know this is going to be a loooong winter.

Dilligaf and I will be there at the same time and staying at ASM! :thumbsup2 Maybe we will run into each other at the resort. Check out my PTR to see if any of our park days overlap :woohoo:

I just have to comment... We are doing dinner at the GG (4pm) on that day and we are also doing lunch at PT (11am) the following day. What time are your ADRs at?

D~

ok, DH and I just officially switched our January trip to March for various reasons. :thumbsup2 We normally go end of Jan/early Feb so I'm a little nervous going in March with more crowds but we are going from March 4-10 so we're hoping it won't be too bad yet ;) We are still getting Free Dining and staying at Pop for the first time.....have only stayed at mods so hoping to not be disappointed there....

That is too funny! Our Garden Grill ADR is for 6:40 so we probably won't see you. However our ADR for Prime Time is 12:10 so maybe we will will bump into you. I will be with my sis and her family, so a group of 6. Many people think my sis and I are twins, so look for 2 blondes with shortish bobs who look a lot alike!:teleport:

Is it just me or does time seem to draaaaggg by??? :sad2: I wanna go to my happy place already!!!!

Today we got a little mailing from WDW, so DD4 and I decided to do a little Disney dance! She is super excited, this is her 7th trip!

One thing...Ive yet been able to link my reservation online to my disney account, it always says it wasnt found, does anyone else have this problem?

Are all 3 of us previos posters going to be at POR at the same time?!?

WOW it does look like it! We will be staying in one of the Alligator Bayou rooms with the trundle March 8-14. What about you? Should we arrange a pooltime DIS meet of some sort?
