The Official LOTR Fan Club!!!

This thread is getting too funny :rotfl:

Like any of us actually have a chance at getting any of them! :teeth:

Ahhh, we can dream though :hyper:

*Elaine comes in while CS & Traci-lyn fight and snatch up Legolas*

He is the closest to me in age being that he's only 3 weeks older than me too ;) :p

CRB, of course we have a chance at getting them (even if it is only in my dreams) ;)

I can't take credit for the "tasty" comment! that was I loveDMB!

and I would love to snatch up Aragorn...I just love his character but Viggo just does nothing for me...sigh....

so, being the silly girl I am I going for Faramir and Eomer...K with you girls...now if I was really young I'd go for Frodo...he is just a cutie!....

Can you believe that Orlando tried out for the part of Faramir and didn't get it! Then Peter offered him Leoglas....

Can you think of one person who isn't cast perfectly in this movie?
I mean the whole movie every character is just perfect! (in my estimation)

It's not like having a whole movie based with a bad casting call such as Val Kimer as Batman (bad casting in my opinion)

Or Richard Gere as Lancelot in First Night....Augh...what a way to ruin a movie!

I guess Elijah is closest to my age. He's 6 years older than me.

But I definitely prefer Orli and Dom, who are both 10 years older than me.:p

Billy Boyd is cute, too...I'm pretty sure he's in his thirties, although he definitely doesn't look that old.

I'm pretty sure Billy is like 36. He def. doesn't look that old. I think he looks younger then some of the other cast members!

Alright, so I'm 22, does that mean I get Elijah?

And CRB, it is nice to dream,

Oh boy, I see if we go with that age thing we'll all get some of the same characters ;)

I still want my Legolas though... more because him and Gimli were my favorite characters... and it is played by Orlando Bloom and the Ya Yas and Angels have given him to me ;) :p

HC, one of my favorites based on looks alone was Eomer... not sure why but I really did like him a lot! Faramir isn't bad either. And I had heard that Orli initially went in for Faramir but was chosen for Leggy. Good choice in my eyes!

I just looked up Billy Boyd for someone else a couple of days ago I think... and he's 35, to be 36 this year :) He does look young by comparison... just like I think Dom looks old for his age. Then again I think Orlando Bloom looks young for his age as does Elijiah!

I do love to dream... and I think while I wait for my appliances this weekend, that I will have to watch FOTR & TT on my big TV :teeth:

i guess if we have to take the person closest to our age, i'll be stuck with one of those little kids at the beginning of the FOTR that Bilbo is telling the story to. :tilt:

I found this interesting if it is true!
Almost 50 min. of extras! Wow!

Peter Jackson confirms Return of the King Extended Edition running time
by David Haber, Wizard News Editor

In an appearance at a screening of Fellowship of the Ring at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood last night, Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson stated that he had just completed cutting the Extended Edition of Return of the King before he left for this current trip to Los Angeles, and that it will be 4 hours and 10 minutes long, with a full fifty minutes of additional scenes.

Regarding extended DVDs in general, Peter Jackson said he didn't know if he'd do one for every movie he does in the future, but that it just felt like it was natural and appropriate to do them for the Lord of the Rings movies. He said as they'd already shot nearly an hour of footage that wasn't used in the theatrical releases of each of the films, and that they were legitimately part of the adaptations of Tolkien's boooks, he felt they should be seen in an extended version, which isn't necessarily better or worse than the theatrical version, just a fuller interpretation of the story.

Hi LOR fans! I had a dream about Elijah last night (he was my 'nephew' and I was showing him around Phoenix  )
Anyway thought I'd pop in here and see what your latest 'topic' was.

I heard the extended version of ROTK will come out over the 'holidays'....hope that means more like Thanksgiving and we don't have to wait all the way till Christmas! I know some of the added footage will be about Faramir and Eowen that take place in the houses of healing. Looking forward to that.

If we get to have a cast member of our very own based on age, then it's King Theoden for me! Thought he was perfectly cast (well, we know they all were!) and did an excellent job. I love the concept of the 'redeemed' man and was attracted to this character the first time I read the books....about 35 years ago!
And a girl (OK, middle aged woman) could do a lot worse than Bernard Hill!

So I didn't read the books, but I'm pretty sure I understood the ending (s).

Faramir and Eowyn got married, right?

Melanie, is my math off or am I off on the year he was born? I thought Billy was born in 1968 which would mean he's 35 now

Very cool info HC!!!! THat will be one heck of a DVD to watch then!!!!

ibouncetoo, if they release the movie like the others, it will come out early to mid-November. Nice pick too! Theoden was an excellent character!

Traci-lyn, you are right Eowyn and Faramir end up married. They fall in love while they are healed afte the battle. I knew they filmed all that and have seen screen caps of it, so it wil lbe neat to see in the movie :)

LOL, now I see the HC replied too.. I'm slow :p

dominic monaghan is sooo adorable!

ok um elijah wood is 8 years older than me so i guess its not that bad.....he could pass as a 15 year old right?

but i guess the person closest to me would have to be that little kid who rides w/ his sister to rohan? actually i dont know where they ride to but like their mother tells them to go because those psycho guys are destroying the village.....wow i bet we can all tell how lotr literate i am!
