The Official LOST Season Five *No Spoilers* Thread

I LOVE them together...It makes me so happy!

I guess I just don't like HER ~ she is just so arrogant and condensending ~ I swear If she closes her eyes and rolls her head one more time ~ AACKKK drives me batty.

I am mad right now at my show I have watched every week for years now AAACKKK I am stomping mad!!!
Daniel is in my top 3 favs!

So now, Daniel will never be born because he is dead in the 1970's? I don't want them to change the past, because that means the whole time on the island never happens, right? Maybe that is how the show ends, with them landing in LA? I don't think I'd like that ending.:sad1:

I agree, I don't care for that ending either. All kind of creepy.

But maybe we will see Hurley and Libby together this way :lmao:

NO, no, that's what they are trying to explain. Even though it's the 1970s, it's still THEIR present. That is why Miles can be there at the same time as baby Miles. It's not like Back to the Future time travel. They tried to explain it a few episodes ago. Faraday was always shot by Eloise. That's why he said, "You knew" because right before he died he said "I'm your son" so when Eloise grew up and had daniel, she knew that in HIS future (but her past) that he would go the the island and she would shoot him.

I really don't think you can change the past like Daniel thought...the plane with still crash but even if it doesn't, our story is not with the jack, kate, etc. in the past, but where they are NOW!

Phew

AAACKKKKKKKKKK This show drives me nuts!!!!!!!!!!

OKAY ~ I think the important part was when Daniel spoke with little charlotte ~ did ya'll notice how the camera zoomed away? WHAT DID HE TELL HER?!

AACKKKKK Can we discuss everything yet and it not be a spoiler?!?!

I don't want to ruin it for anyone but I am stomping mad right now!!!!!

I am still not liking the Sawyer/Julia thing ~ does anyone like them together?!?!

I don't remember the camera zooming away. :confused3 But remember before she died she said, there was a crazy old man who told me to leave and never come back and I think it was you. Also, did you catch the "I'm not allowed to have chocolate before dinner?" Wasn't that the last thing she said before she died?! I thought that was funny.

Ugh, I hate her face too! She makes the same facial expression for every emotion!

Why are you mad?? I thought that episode was fantastic!!

Yes, I noticed that. They did not show us what he said to her. The last thing they did show us was his saying something like "I debated whether to tell you this but...." and we assume he told her something...yeah, it could just be what she said he had said before but I got the feeling it was something new.

I'm going to be so bummed if everything that he was saying and doing last night wasn't true and that everything still happens as it did before BECAUSE of his actions last night. :(

It was so sad to see him die by his mother AND that he realized his 'old' present day mother knew what would happen but sent him to the island anyway. :sad1:

It was neat how they showed Daniel in previous scenes that we had seen before, tying them together; like crying in front of the TV and walking with the tank and then talking to Dr. Chang.

Was anyone else worried that Eloise was going to kidnap little Charlie??? I was like, "Don't just leave your child there!!" I'm so glad they did NOT go in that direction. Desmond has been through enough and I have a feeling his journey is not over yet...

YES! I thought for sure when they showed her walking outside that she was going to have little Charlie hidden under her coat!

So if they prevent the "incident" from happening, it means the Oceanic flight never crashes, and they all land safely in LA, right? I'm wondering if this is going to set up a moral dilemna for all of the Losties - if that happens, it means their lives resume where they left off pre-flight: Kate is going to jail; Sun & Jin are miserable and not pregnant; Sawyer is unwilling to commit; etc, etc, etc. Make me wonder if they would REALLY want to do this. Wouldn't it be funny, though, if that is what the series finale turns out to be - the incident is prevented and they are all shown landing in LA in 2004.

And if the plane crash never happens, does that mean we see Charlie and Boone again?

I was assuming that if they prevented the incident from happening then Kate, Jack, Sawyer...all the people who crashed on Oceanic 815 will never have existed, because this (1977) is their present time....and if they blow up the hydrogen bomb like Daniel had suggested then they would die.....and as this is their present time (1977) they would no longer exist in the real present time (2007)???? So we would see the plane land with a whole different group of people on board....

No, the people that we know 2007 (or whatever year it is for them) but are stuck in 1977 are in THEIR PRESENT. If they die now, it will not erase THEIR past. Their past is still their past.

I have a feeling that they will not blow up the hydrogen bomb. I think they're quest to prevent the incident might actually lead to the incident happening itself. Ya know what I mean?

Wow, this hurts my brain. :)
Ok, so they are trying to change the future, which is their past, right? If they prevent the plane from crashing in 2004 then why would they come to the island 3 years later and land in 1977 so they could prevent it? Plus Sawyer and Jin should not be there.

I think you are probably right that by trying to prevent the accident, they are actually causing it.

Hurts mine, too! I guess I'm not too good with THIS kind of time travel.

Thinking out loud here: what if they DO succeed in changing the past, and the plane doesn't crash? Would that explain all the dead people (Christian, Charlie, Eko) who are still appearing to the Losties? Maybe they're not meant to be dead in 2004-2007, so the Losties were sent back to 1977 FOR THE PURPOSE OF CHANGING THE PAST so that these people don't die? Does this make sense to you?

It would except those actors are not under contract with the show any more. :confused3

But I am still mad about Daniel!!!!! I really liked him ~ he was geeky smart and nuts all rolled into one :rotfl:

Yes it does make sense to me and would SO interesting if that's how it plays out. I think it would be a hoot to see them all in the finale but like a PP mentioned - those actors aren't part of the cast anymore; AND they'd have to bring back alot of them: Charlie, Boone, Shannon, AnaLucia, Libby, Eko - I guess pretty much anyone who died in the first two seasons, right?

It really is all so confusing and fascinating at the same time. I don't always understand what I'm watching but I LOVE watching it!

OK, I'm getting so sick of Kate. Once again she screws everything up. "Lets go get some guns." Ugh, I was hoping one of the bullets would hit her. Is that wrong of me? :rotfl: She is constantly screwing up and endagering peoples lifes and doesn't even realize what an idiot she is!!

Anyone catch the look on Juliet's face when Sawyer called Kate freckles? Seems like she figures he is going to be leaving her and hooking up with Kate since she is back. I hope not. Dispite my huge dislike of Kate, I actually like Juliet and Sawyer together.

Daniel's mom is evil. She stripped him of his childhood. Forcing him to "cultivate" his gift and not allowing him to have fun in other things, like playing the piano. That'a not a mother, that's a drill instructer. Poor kid. Never knew his father, pushed constantly by his mother then killed by her. What kind of person would purposefully send their only child back to the island, knowing full well that you shot him in the past? Evil, evil woman. I hate her now.

Seeing Daniel with Charolette was so sad. :sad1:

I agree. They can't change the future becuase it would create a paradox. If they prevent the incident...flight 815 doesn't crash....then they would not have been sent back to prevent the accident and therefore the accident would still occur.

I do however think that Daniel is going to die. He made such a big deal explaining to Jack that it is there present and that they can still die. So sad they can't/won't resurrect him like evil baby Ben.

So does this mean that Eloise doesn't have the Losties best interest in mind? If she can convince her son to go back to the island, knowing his fate, I don't really think she meant it when she said the island is their destiny. Didn't Daniel tell them last night that they are not where they are supposed to be?

I love this show but it makes me nuts.
The island is your destiny...
no your destiny to get off the island...
no your destiny is to get back on the island...
no you are not where you are supposed to be.:headache:

Well, everyone making the 'destiny' comments has their own agenda, so basically, we can't take what anyone SAYS as a fact. And while we had already learned that Ben and Widmore weren't trustworthy (from our Losties perspective) now we know Eloise isn't either.

Recently (in current time) Eloise has encounterd both Ben and Widmore and hasn't pulled out a gun an shot either of them, so I think there's still lots for us to learn about the relationships of these old island folk!

.

How about Eloise's comment at the hospital that this was the first time in a long time that she did not know what was going to happen? She has a much bigger role in all of this than we have seen yet! I was so upset that she sent Daniel back to the island knowing that she would harm him. Do we really know who Penny's mom is? Is it Eloise? Did they pull a "parent trap" and each raise one of the kids?

I will be so mad if this all turns out in the end to not have happened. Hello writers remember the Dallas ending?! :scared1: It would be a shame to have the progress of the characters just be erased and have them back at the beginning.
