The Official LOST Season Five *No Spoilers* Thread

I don't think that is the sub pier. There have been two distinct piers in Lost. The first we saw was the one where Ben gave Michael the boat so he and Walt could escape the island. I think that is the one we saw Wednesday night. It's also the one that Sayid, Sun, and Jin landed at when they sailed Desmonds sailboat around the island. I watched the episode where Julliette arrives at the island via the sub and it is very clear that that dock is in a lagoon of some sort because beyond the sub you see that it is an inlet or harbor type area. The other pier is sort of straight out into the surf.
If you watch episode 3X02(The Glass Ballerina) you can clearly see that the pier that Sun, Jin and Sayid landed with Desmond's sailboat is not the same one we saw on Wednesday night. That pier has a canopy on the end of it with a sign that says "Pala Ferry". Unless something happened to that canopy, it doesn't appear at the end of the pier in Wed night's episode. Also, the Pala Ferry pier is much bigger than the other pier and it doesn't have lights.

See below...

The first picture is of the Pala Ferry pier. The pier that Michael was given a boat to leave the island. This is also the pier that Sun, Jin and Sayid landed in Desmond's sailboat.

The second picture is the wharf pier that Juliet arrived on in the sub. This pier definitely looks more like the pier we saw on Wednesday night.

On another subject, I was listening to the latest "Official Lost Podcast" and the producers, Damon and Carlton, reveal that Charlotte's birth year was not 1979 but in fact 1970 (or perhaps 1971) and that this was changed on the set by Rebecca Mader(the actress that plays Charlotte) and not caught during the editing process. So, that little girl that Daniel saw is really Charlotte.

If anyone wants a crazy time travel book that looks at it as a completed picture I strongly suggest buy Kurt Vonnegut. I think this is the sort of Time Travel that Lost is working with.
Slaughterhouse Five, right?

If you look on the Lost page on abc.com. They have a Lost book club. One of the books that is mentioned is Slaughterhouse Five. That the episode "The Constant" bears a resemblance to the "unstuck in time" theme in the book. I haven't read this book in over 20 years. I'll have to pull it out of the mothballs to read it again.

Thanks for those screen caps! Now do you have a picture of the pier where Locke blew up the sub?

hmm I never would have thought Charlotte was almost 40. I'm 30 and Charlotte looks younger then me (and I look young for my age)

I'll look for that pic for you.

I agree about Charlotte. From what I have seen and heard in interviews with the actress and the producers, they were looking for an American woman in about 37 years old. When Rebecca Mader showed up, they were blown away by her audition and they hired her. It is odd that Charlotte lived on the island until she was about 4 or 5, yet she has an English accent.

hmm interesting about the casting for Charlotte. She always seemed so creepy to me. I wonder if we'll see young Charlotte. I hope so!

Here is what I found. Hopefully I can post before they go down for maintenance.

This show is so fantastic - but VERY confusing!!!

I really like the Richard Alpert character, so interesting. Does he have/need a constant?

I'm still a big Jack fan and see no reason for Sawyer to be so rude to him, even though it does go with his (Sawyer's) mo. I like Sawyer too, but I still like Jack as the real hero.

I'm still a bit confused about the asian baby, but I also am thinking it must be Miles. :confused3

If they are going to bring someone back, why couldn't they bring back Goodwin!????? He was great! wow - miss him! :lovestruc

Also: Weren't we supposed to find out this past episode what Sawyer whispered to Kate, and what happened to Aaron, or is that just sometime this season?

Any thoughts? I just love this show! :goodvibes

I'm very interested in knowing what Sawyer whispered to Kate. I like the theory that he told her where the money he hid was and to give it to his daughter, Clementine.

Another theory is that he told her to leave, have a happy life bla bla bla don't come back for me. Guess we will have to wait and see. :rolleyes1

I don't think that Richard needs a constant. I am not even sure he is human anymore.

What I have always wanted is a BOOK - I want the LOST guys to write a book (or more than one - ie. Harry Potter, Twilight, etc.) that gives us ALL of the details - all of the backstory, everything! They would make a fortune!!

I don't think the Dharma signs were on the baraks where the Dharma people or the Others lived previously. The building we saw the signs on was the Welcome Center where the new Dharma recruits were screened after they came off the sub. The Others many not have used this building once they took over.

The Welcome Center was the rec room they had Kate locked in when her, Sayid, and Lock went to find Jack at the compound after Jack performed surgery on Ben. So yes the Others used it.

In th '70's there were both the Welcome Center and the Rec Room we saw Kate in. Sawyer and Goodspeed were talking in the Rec Room in LaFleur so both locations existed then.

They same set may have been used during production but the furnishings are different to distinguish rooms

What? Des wasn't in the episode at all, was he? Did I miss something?

Sorry!! WDHinn89 is right, I did mean Daniel, not Desmond. Sorry, if I scared anyone. :lmao:

Who was the copilot? He looked soooo familiar. Anyone else recognize him?

In the ack attack link that Debra posted, there is a reference to the co-pilot in Saved by the Bell? :confused3

Dan Gauthier plays the role of Co-pilot (Flight 316).

Attended San Diego State University. [1] Played a helicopter pilot in Tour of Duty. [2] Nominated for a 2007 Daytime Emmy award and a 2005 Soap Opera Digest Award for his work on One Life to Live.
