The Official Lime Lovin' Croc Exchange

We just booked our trip for June 8-14 - are there any Crocs available during that time? We had Fauna last year and had a ball with her - lots of pics WAY back in this thread on page 117 - and are sad to know she was Croc-napped! We were hoping to host her again this year.

If anyone has any info just let me know! Thanks!

If you PM lonegungal17, she should be able to help. She has graciously taken over the duties of Grand Listkeeper and Focker Czar. :goodvibes

Flower's pics are great!!! Thanks for sharing. :flower3:

I have been in contact with both Flora's previous host family and the ones after us and all arrangements are being made! :thumbsup2

I am very excited to be reunited with Flora this year! :grouphug: Looking forward to our "Focker Family Reunion" ..... I'm sure Froggy will be there too! ;) (you'll have to check out our photos from last year to know who that is!)

However, I haven't told the kids we're getting her back ........ just in case! That could get UGLY - fast!!! :headache:

ellenmiele...

I just PM'd you about getting Flora to you after our visit June 8-14 at AKL. I don't know that there'll be time to mail her to you after our trip, so it looks like it may have to be a drop off at your resort. PM me and let me know what you think! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to host Fauna's sister, Flora, this year! We'll be thinking of poor Fauna, though, and missing her terribly. :sad2:

Of course you're important! It is a lot of work to keep this up!

Anyway, Londgungal17: on your ticker it says Cedar Point.. are you coming to Ohio? We'll be there in August!

I will indeed be at Cedar Point on August 11th and 12th, we are going to Cedar Point before heading to Disney World. :woohoo: And as of right now Faolan will be coming with us.:yay:

Mel

We are back!!!! Flower was a great travel companion, as usual.

We are unpacking today (and I am working) but I will get pics up on the blog ASAP and will post when I get them up there!

:goodvibes

Flora was waiting patiently at the POP front desk when I arrived thanks to FloridaGirl and she had a great time on our busy, short trip!! Of course there are pictures, but still it escapes me how to post them. Off she goes via snail mail to mouseaddicts for their May trip. :thumbsup2

32 DAYS TILL WDW !!!
:jumping1: party: :jumping1:
I hope flower is resting... we ride the rides a LOT.. and she'll be getting a BBB treatment. And what girl doesn't need a little pampering.

wooohoooo!!! She will be all rested up, I promise. She definitely needs some pampering. DS3 dragged her on Small World over and over and over. Poor Flower.

Hello,

I haven't been to this thread for a while - we were going to be on holiday and look after a croc last month but had to change to 2009.

I am going to be incredibly cheeky here now ;) Is there a kind DISer out there who would get me some LGMH please (I am in England) in exchange for some postcards or something from England?

Hey, you don't lose anything by asking these things do you :rotfl:

Hi all,
something most of you wouldn't like to read...
I just came back from 2 weeks 1/2 in WDW sans croc. :(
I was suppose to croc sit Faolan, and to get him by mail before I left for Florida.
I was very happy at the thought of not only having him for the whole trip, but even getting him early, getting to know him at home first, and being able to have him along while traveling.

Sadly, I never got him.
At first, we though I was just getting him late.
Which was frustrating and stressful enough... :headache:
I left my dad with the instructions to mail him to the resort, so I could at least croc sit for about half the trip...
But Faolan never made it to my house.:sad1:

As Mel wrote, Faolan may be MIA. :worried:

I really hope not and I hope he gets to Mel safe and sound, and in time for her trip.

I also hope, for my next trip, which should be in december 2011 or 2012, the croc exchange will still be running, and I'll be able to croc sit then.

To all croc-sitters and all croc-sitter wannabees :mic:
Please don't take this duty, altough tongue-in-cheek and fun, without first considering all the facts and responsabilities related to it : you could need to pay for shipping. You could need to spend some time during your trip for the croc exchange (get it from front desk or leave him at another resort's for the next "sitter", for example). It could be hard on your kids to get separated from the toy at the end, and the solution isn't to keep it!
It's not OK to delay or be cheap on shipping (use regular domestic service instead of any express solution, for instance), for whatever reason, because the consequence can be the next DISer stressing a whole lot when they have already a lot to stress about (just about to leave for their trip!) and not getting the croc they signed for.
*Always depending on situation of course, regular shipping can be enough if you have a month before the next person leaves and only a state between you!
Think about it before you sign. It's a shared responsibility between all of us who do sign. ::yes::

very true may i add.. for all of you sending the crocs make sure to get a phone number fo the person sending it. for ups for tracking reasons and dont rely on the post office. they had circled the number on the box for the address and then sent it back to me... i am so sorry this has happend.
it is my fault that he never made it and should have sent him ups and emailed annie dan but i wanted it to get the them.

I'm so sorry to say that FLORA too did not make her destination in Georgia on time. I shipped her with a week to go, priority mail with USPS which is how I got her when I had her in October and how I sent her to the next person back in October with no problems...so poor mouseaddicts had to go their trip without Flora.

I never considered UPS.

I guess from now on, though I've never had a problem with other shipments (I'm a big ebayer) delivery confirmation and tracking is a must.

I hope she eventually got where she needs to be so the next Dis'er can get her.

But now I see how slow the mail can really be. I thought 7 days was plenty..

Maefly

Hi everyone! Sorry to hear about all the mailing problems, but it is good to know that we should use UPS. Is UPS better than Priorty Mail? I thought that was guarenteed overnight? or 2 day?

I did my hand off in person last year but had it mailed to me before we left and I don't remember how it came.;)
