I'm so sorry to say that FLORA too did not make her destination in Georgia on time. I shipped her with a week to go, priority mail with USPS which is how I got her when I had her in October and how I sent her to the next person back in October with no problems...so poor mouseaddicts had to go their trip without Flora.
I never considered UPS.
I guess from now on, though I've never had a problem with other shipments (I'm a big ebayer) delivery confirmation and tracking is a must.
I hope she eventually got where she needs to be so the next Dis'er can get her.
But now I see how slow the mail can really be. I thought 7 days was plenty..

What's up with the Post Office - how could something priority mail not make it in a week! Here's what the usps website says about priority mail:
Now you can have delivery of documents and packages made in 2 to 3 days. Low flat-rate shipping is also available with Priority Mail for any destination and any weight up to a 70 lb. maximum when you use either Flat Rate Envelopes or Flat Rate Boxes.
Delivery to every address in the United States - including PO Boxes and military addresses.
Saturday and residential deliveries at no extra cost.
Convenient flat rate envelopes are available.
New flat rate boxes are available in two different sizes.
Maximum weight is 70 pounds, and the maximum size is 108 inches in length and distance around the thickest part combined.
Print a shipping label online and get Delivery Confirmation service at no additional cost!
Yikes!!! How can they say it's 2-3 days????? Was it over a holiday??
Now in the past we've sent Flora via FedEx with overnight delivery and that is our plan this time as well. IMO, it's well worth the cost to avoid the disappointment. I sent an envelope to the person before me so it's not like I'm asking someone else to pay the shipping. And I'll likely send her off to the next person that way as well. I just know how disappointed my kids would be if we didn't get her on time and I would hate to see anyone else's kids in that situation either!
Lucky for us MenashaCorp has agreed to send Fang in as a replacement for Flora until she is found. If anyone on Flora's list would like a different croc, let me know and I'll try to fulfill any requests.
) It's comforting having a tracking number that WORKS and you have the option of requiring a signature. If no signature, it can be picked up at the destination's office. I sent Fang No Sig Required but the option is there... UPS is similar, though I've used them less.

) we have to notice one thing : it took almost 3 weeks from the time she sent it and the time she got it back...

I double-checked my PM to maefly and confirmed that all of my contact information provided (name, address, email and cell phone) were correct. I have lived in the same house for over 10 yrs and know my neighbors, so if they get her by mistake, they know who to deliver the pkg to!
