***The Official June 2016 Thread***

:crazy2::crazy2::crazy2:After planning several DW trips. This surprise trip for DD has been the most challenging. I have never had so many unknowns 16 days before we leave. I did manage to get 3 more things finalized today.

My poor DH is ready to kick me out of bed if I'm up one more morning at 4 AM trying to book stuff for this trip.

Disney has definitely made trip planning a pain in the hiney this year. Now to start packing without DD finding out :crazy2:
I do feel fairly good now...plans 99% finalized. Can work on getting through the last week of school (teacher here) and then packing/last minute shopping/mani-pedi week! We actually leave in 13 days but we'll be in Disney two weeks from today!

Successful day! Started off with booking Soarin and a FP for JB. It took an hour and DH didn't get to eat breakfast with us...haha...but we got it!

Worked on packing clothes this morning. (1st photo) Got our entire WDW stay bag packed. (2nd photo)

The kids had a martial arts test and were promoted followed by the groups family day.

And back home for more packing...or organizing. We decided to pack our foods I. Plastic Rubbermaid tubs so it'd stack well in the car. I got it all organized and labeled. (Last photo).

We leave next Sunday...until then DS3s room can best be described as an organized mess of vacation stuff!

We scored as well today. FP for Jungle Book & moved our FP for 7DMT an hour earlier so it won't conflict now with Wishes. Yesterday got the coveted ADR for BOG at lunch. So we are pretty well set. We chose not to give up our FP for TT and will head straight there on Sunday AM - too bad it is an EMH. :( We will keep checking on Saturday nite, just in case. But once we are in the WS, I don't want to have to trek back to the beginning of the park.
Will start the ironing tomorrow. Everything is bought and I am breaking in my new New Balance sneakers as I type. 2nd day in them and I love them!
Hair on Friday next weekend and mani/pedi maybe the Friday (3rd) before we leave? I always ruin them, so the closer to the actual leave time, the better!

Phew! I asked my husband today what he was looking most forward to and he said seeing a palm tree. Really? I sad he better have a better answer than that when I ask him again later - a Disney answer, lol. His eyes were literally glossed over today while I was doing my daily Disney speak. He didn't get involved in any planning. I planned this with my brother and SIL who are definitely Type A like me. My DH says he is just coming along for the ride and will be happy whatever we do.

Sitting here with hair coloring in my hair with a Disney football shirt with the year 91 on the front! 25 year old shirt & I still wear it to paint or hair color. Brings back the memories.....BTW, my husband did give me a Disney answer. What he is looking forward to most at WDW is seeing that gate across the road welcoming you to the park.

Anyone planning on bringing the portable spray bottles or battery fans to carry around? This is our first summer trip, not sure if it's worth carrying these around!

I Picked up some small battery fans at Wal Mart tonight when DH and I went. They were like $2 and seemed to put off enough breeze.

We are but we have stroller hooks and will hang them on there.

I need to tweak a few things time wise, but otherwise I'm done.

This is DD's last week of school too, then we roll in to dance rehearsal and then 2 days of recital. We leave the Monday after recital. I'm hoping she's not too exhausted from dance.

We take them every year. They do add some weight to the backpack, but they've been nice to have in the past. We'll probably be carrying them around again this year :)

OMGOMOGOMOGMGOMG!!!

18 actual days until we're back at WDW!

11 work days.....

We leave on June 17th which means we miss ALL of the newly opened experiences - BUT we're going to skip Soarin' - Test Track is more important for us - and on our last trip it was CLOSED so we haven't ridden in like 6 years!!

We have already planned our evenings and AK was not in the plans....so we'll have to catch the new night time activities on our next trip!!

Have I mentioned it's only 18 days until we're back???

At 21 days out, I think our plans are officially finalized. I can't think of anything we'd want to move around/cancel/replace/etc. ahead of time, though we could do some tweaking when we're down there.

I have to say, with all of the uncertainty and drama surrounding planning for June trips, we did end up with exactly what we wanted, and almost exactly when we wanted it. It took some effort, but it's finally done!

Now, we just have the waiting. Of course, with end-of-school craziness and fully-booked weekends for the next three weeks, the time is going to fly by.

AND as someone posted above I also only have 2 weekends between now and when we leave (since we leave on a Friday!!) and this coming up weekend is a longer one with that fabulous Monday holiday AND we have plans every night which means I'll have busy days and then just ONE weekend and I'll be busy doing all my last minute packing!!

EEEEKKK!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

We have 1 weekend between now and when we start the drive because we also leave on a Friday! We leave GA in 11 days, at Disney in 12!

ETA: I love my ticker right now because it only has a 1 in front of the word "week"!!

Soon for me, too.

Today I have finished my reveal card for hubby, complete with our reservations so he can get excited about where we are going. Up this afternoon is looking for a couple of tshirts that I can use to do iron on transfers for our anniversary. I already designed it in photoshop but I've not had a chance to buy some blank shirts.

Has anyone ever signed your kids up for the Jedi Training Academy at HS? I was going to give that a try this year. About how long does the process take if we head there first thing in the morning?

From everything I've read, my 4 yr old and I plan to be at DHS by 8:15 for a 9am opening. Sometimes they let JTA sign ups in a little early.

5 days until graduation open house
12 days until graduation
13 days until we leave for Disney

I am currently making 72 more brownies to go with the 144 I already have frozen! Open houses are hard to plan for! Excited for my son and excited for Disney! It's going to be a crazy couple weeks! I am just thankful my teen kids (and 9yo) still want to go to Disney and are just excited as my DH and I!

I am thankful that my nephew, 20, wants to come to Disney with my DH & I and his parents. We have a blast together and since he is now in college we don't see him as often, for sure. So we still get to make some fun vacation memories together.

I am grateful to be going to Disney, period!

I'm a little late to the party (and new to the boards!). This will be my 2nd WDW trip. Joining me and my daughters (8 & 9) is my boyfriend and his daughters (7 & 10) June 5-11.

We are staying in a suite at AoA.
Monday: MK, ADR at CRT 8:25am, hoping to hit 7DMT and Peter Pan before the lines are too long. Early dinner at Tony's. No break at BF's request (eek!).
Tuesday: MK... zero plans until night. Booked the dessert party because last time I had to crouch under a tree to see fireworks.
Weds-Thurs no parks. My kids have never been to a beach so we are getting a van and will go exploring.
Thurs night: Spirit of Aloha dinner show then hoping to catch Wishes from the beach at the Poly.
Friday: HS. We are all Star Wars fans! Planning to sign all the kids up for JTA. No other plans there. Hoping to get a good view of the fireworks. Wasn't able to book the dessert party there.
