***The Official June 2016 Thread***

So excited! We are getting close! Working on FP+ each night. No luck with Mine train and Test Track.
Looking to add a reservation for Sci-Fi for lunch or dinner but I keep checking several days and nothing is open. I could kick myself for not doing it months ago!

You are doing them at midnight? We are, and we haven't had any problems getting the FP's we wanted except for 7DMT.

I wrote a TR for our June 2015 trip, so you're free to read that :)

I don't write PTRs, since I can't usually come up with enough material to warrant one.
I think I have it on my watched thread list. Mostly I'm looking for more recent ones, but I'm sure I'll check yours out, too! Thanks!

We actually avoided going to Disney during the years our kids were still using strollers because we didn't want to deal with them (the stollers) -- the kids were easily able to do Disney with no stroller by age 4. Then one year when our then 6 year old daughter was having a major bout with environmental allergies while we were there, we were forced to rent a stroller. Her allergy meds made her drowsy and we knew she wouldn't last more than a few hours in the parks if she had to walk everywhere. The stroller definitely saved our trip that year and I'm very glad we decided to rent one. However, after having been at Disney several times with no strollers, having to use one (parking it, finding it, maneuvering it through crowds and stores) was every bit of the PITB I thought it would be (though I'll say it was nice to have some place to put our drinks and other odds and ends we usually carry around the parks). I was soooooo happy to not need a stroller on the next trip. It was as liberating as when we decided to start going to the parks with no bags. Enjoy your stroller-free freedom on your trip!!!

Thank you for mentioning this. I'll be scheduling our FP's next Wednesday night at midnight so I could easily run into that same issue. Now I won't go in to full panic mode if that happens. :) I hope you're able to get your FP for Illuminations -- though I have to say, of all the ones not to get, that's probably one of the easiest to work around since there are still plenty of good places to watch Illuminations that don't require a FP. Last summer my son and I watched Illuminations from right in front of Italy and only got there about 8:30. We grabbed a drink and snack and just sat on the steps and waited. There was still plenty of standing room (and a little bit of space for sitting on the steps) at 9:00 when the show started.

So this is the first year I am going to attempt to go without a stroller!!!! I hate fighting the crowds with a stroller, but I love having a place for our stuff. I am planning to take a backpack for our essentials, however I don't know what to do about water. I am thinking about getting a few water bottles to carry. Is it a pain to get water from a QS location every time we need water. My daughter is always complaining that she is thirsty!

We usually take water bottles with the filters (we use the Brita brand), keep them in the back pack and just fill up as needed. We typically as a family go either July and August and we've never had an issue doing this.

That is good to hear. I was worried about it being a pain carrying the water bottles. My girls are young so I will be the one with the backpack!!

We save a lot of money that way. Just make sure the cap on your bottle is secure! :) Also, depending on where you're staying, your hotel will likely sell gallons of water in the mercantile (we love WL!) and so we get that, fill up in the morning and go. That usually lasts a few days. Have a magical time!

Good to know. We are staying at Riverside this year, but have stayed at WL the past 2 years (love it there too!!!).

Magic bands are on their way!
ME TOO!! I saw that yesterday they were being made, and this morning they were shipped! I got a shipper # and it say I should have them on Friday!!

Now to order some decals of Etsy to decorate them with!

WOOT!! WOOT!!

Magic bands arrived earlier in the week! I got them out and compared them to the old bands... They seem thinner & more flexible this year... So excited to get purple! I have been wanting purple for years! Now, just waiting on a few shirts to be finished & our vinyl for our magic bands to be cut.
We can't wait for June 5th!
This is the first year I will be at Disney for my birthday! Now... if we can just get the kids through the last couple of weeks of school & baseball... :tink::earsboy::earsgirl::earsboy::earsgirl:

Not sure how to reveal yet. Don't want to over do it, but it is fun to see the look on their faces...

Do they know what Magic Bands are? When we went last year, we hadn't told our kids where we were really going for vacation. They thought we were taking a 10-day road trip through New England. I told them we got something in the mail to make our trip a little more enjoyable and had them open the box. As soon as they opened the inner box and saw the Magic Bands, they went nuts.

They do know what the Magic Bands are from our last trip, that may be part of the reveal. As soon as they see them they will know.

Oh, I have read your TR....and I think our trips overlap....so if you see someone staring and trying to place how she knows you....don't be frightened.:-)
