*** The Official July 2014 thread, join us won't you? ***

I know! I'm usually the responsible one (okay, we're both very responsible) and was initially worried about setting expectations for this kind of surprise and trip on a regular basis. But the more I think about it, the more I realize that they are only going to be young once, so why not let them be kids and experience the magic?

You're a true fan! Sounds like a great childhood. I probably shouldn't tell you this, but this is actually our first time taking the kids! I know, they're eight and five and it took us this long. We've been talking about it and watching videos, but they really have no idea what they're in for!

That just makes it even more special! It is sure to be super magical. I wish I could remember my first trip. I was just too little. I think I was one, or just under? It'd be a great memory to have. At that age I assume I slept through most of it though haha. Obviously it stuck though, because there is quite a bit of Disney themeing in my house (bless my husband's heart for allowing me my craziness). Hidden mickeys anyone? haha!

My nephew and nieces that are going for the first time are going to be 12, 10, and 4. It's been a long wait to be able to do Disney with them, but I think being able to actually remember those memories will be so special for them when they are older. Especially since the youngest is in her totally princess stage. I am hoping to surprise them with a fireworks dessert party that trip.

Exactly! The magic is supposed to be for the kids, although seeing their reaction will be just as memorable for you!

We're late July so we still have 39 days left to go. I'm so anxious for the time to come, but I don't want to wish the summer away either.

My question is if any of you have not told your kids yet? I spent an embarrassing number of hours watching youtube videos of last minute surprises. I may or may not have cried. I've been torn about how/when to tell them, but that left me wanting to do a last minute surprise. DH is pretty set on telling them a couple weeks in advance, so they can help with the packing and have something to look forward to. HELP!

We have told them every year except last year. They were 5 and 3 and DD5 kept asking if we could go back and we told her we weren't planning on it until she was 6 but then DH took a job where we knew we wouldn't be seeing much of him so within two weeks we planned our July trip. That Friday they stayed at my in-laws instead of daycare. I got home early to pack and we had the car all ready when we went to get them. We walked in and asked what they would like to do that weekend and DD said "I wish we could go to Disney" (which we figured since it was her typcial response) so we looked at each other and said "ok! Let's go!". It was so funny because she just stood there looking at us in disbelief but then DS3 started yelling Disney Disney. It was so funny! Of course before we left she had to make sure that the princess dress wardrobe was all packed ;)

Someone just shared this to me on Facebook. Adorable!

We have not told them yet and are not planning to until we get to ME at the airport! :-) thinking we will tell them we're going with DH on his business trip to FL and can hang out at the hotel and swim and stuff (which they would like too). Not sure if DS(7) will suspect anything more or not...? Figure we'll try the business trip route late this week or next.

Only 2 more weeks!!

Guess what guys and gals???

School's out for Summer!!! So excited, now I can do all things Disney to get ready! I have to make 3 shirts (the rest are done) and make sure every thing else is in line and in order!

To decorate magic bands or not? That is the question of the day......

Have a great trip 2Tiggies!!!!

We decorated our Magic Bands. We are not nearly as creative or good at the arts and crafts as many of the pictures in the magic band thread, so we did a simple route. We raided the Disney scrapbook section at Michael's. I hope they hold up but we are taking more sticker's just in case.

DW did a pink princess theme.
DD8 "decorated it herself thank you very much" ...completely loaded with blue sparkles for frozen.
Mine is a mix of Mickey and Bolt lightening bolts (very tough and manly if I say so myself) lol

I tried to load a picture but can't seem to get it to work.

See you there!

Anyone looking to save some money on disney gifts, I was just at Kohls and target and both had disney apparel in women's and girls on clearance. A lot is marked but still on regular not clearance racks! I paid $7-$11 per top. Way cheaper than clothes at world of disney.

For the OP that asked about shipping MAGIC BANDS, we got ours 2 weeks ago, it said it would take 7 days to arrive, they were here the very next day.

Bon voyage to 2Tiggies!!! Have a wonderful trip, relax and enjoy and have fun! May the time between tomorrow and July 8th go slowly for you and fast for those of us going after you get back! :)

Woohoo!!! I have 3 student days and 1 teacher day left and then I'll be in your shoes! I didn't decorate our MB's... mostly because this is our 4th set so we have so many colors at this point that they are easy to mix n' match with what we are wearing! :thumbsup2

Ok July Vacationers, today we wish our first member a

Yay 2Tiggies!!!! So exciting!!! Have a wonderful vacation!!! :yay:

2Tiggies we are all jealous of you. Have fun!!!!! :thumbsup2

We aren't checking in till July 27th, so we still have about 10 days to wait for Magic Bands. For those of you who already have them, post some pictures, I'd love to see what you've come up with for decorating them. I have zero artistic talent, so mine will stay plain green :goodvibes

I also added a day on to the end of our trip. We are going to stay one night at POP Century. Never been there, but I wanted one last day, and my cousin, who is a CM, got us a great rate, so I had to jump on it.

5 days left of school :teacher:, 31 days till Florida :beach:, 39 days till Disney :jumping1:

YAY FOR YOU!!! Isn't it the BEST feeling!?!? I'm having the whole decorate or not debate too!

Thanks! :goodvibes I just checked the tracking. They left Memphis this morning and they're in Atlanta already. Hopefully we'll have them tomorrow or Saturday!

Anyone else snag FP+ for BOG lunch?

DID YOU!?!?!?!?!? I thought there was nothing available still past July 8.

And I just noticed...we are about the same age and have kids about the same age as well! How long are you at POR? DH and I will both be 37 this year. DS is 7 (will be 8 this year) and DD turned 3 in May.

We are only at POR for one night to see what a royal room is like. We are excited though and I think DD will love it!
