*** The Official July 2014 thread, join us won't you? ***

I think I might paint on the pattern from Anna's coronation dress for the green. This is what I did to my pink MB. I used nail polish and crystals to make sleeping beauty's crown (kinda). There's a huge thread here on the dis with people doing things to their MBs! Mine is not nearly the most creative or well done but I just wanted something girly and simple. Some people use acrylic paint with a clear nail polish topcoat. It doesn't harm the MB function at all either way.

That is simple but so, so very cute! :lovestruc

2 weeks of school left for my students and an extra day left for me! Students in my district are done on the 23rd and I'm done on the 24th. Looking forward to the 3 weeks after that to really get final preparations done for WDW!

Forgot to multi-quote - but those MB's look so amazing! :worship: I'm just not that crafty...

So cute!! Nice job!

I was looking at Anna and Elsa dresses last night on Etsy! :-) I'd like to get something for DD for Disney (and Halloween).

6 days of classes left for high school, then regents week. Teachers' last day is June 26th and my faculty end-term party is that night, really looking forward to that! That whole week is crazy...Sunday, June 22nd celebrating my father's birthday with the whole family, Monday the 23rd a member of the department who is retiring will be treating the whole department to lunch, Tuesday the 24th we are all taking her out for lunch, Wednesday the 25th is graduation in the evening in Manhattan, but the bus bringing the staff there leaves from school at 2:30pm, so we will have time to go eat an early dinner before graduation. The end-term party the 26th, and going out to dinner for my niece's 5th grade graduation Friday the 27th. I think I will gain 10 pounds that week from all the eating! And I'm trying to lose a few before my trip because I know I will be bad bad bad as far as eating at WDW...always on vacation! ;)

Then Monday the 30th I take my older niece out (she's 13...it was her birthday gift, she likes for me to take her to lunch and the mall for the afternoon). Then on July 1st it's my parents' anniversary, and we are taking them to a restaurant in Manhattan called Sammy's Roumanian. They've never been there and have wanted to go, so my sister and I decided it would be nice to take them there. Very heavy food though...steak, but a lot of their food is cooked with chicken fat. I will be happy after all of the if my shorts still fit, hahaha!

Oh boy, how am I going to control my eating at all of these occasions? Any advice?

Ok, I will stop my ranting now. And I will get back to looking forward to my trip. 41 days until we hit the road! :)

Yay! School is officially finished for the year :thumbsup2 Since it's the weekend it doesn't really feel like it yet, but it will on Monday :cool1: Don't worry, ya'll can get back at me in early August when I have to go back and you're still on vacation ;)

I have a week to "settle" and get my body clock back to normal, and then my mom, sisters, and I are going to the beach for a week. Little do they know it's my trip to "pass the time" until Disney :rotfl: Totally kidding, I love being with them since we all live in different states now! (And they totally KNOW it's my trip to pass the time because they know I'm obsessed with Disney!)

Wow, a week at the beach, that is the perfect way to relax and unwind before your WDW trip!

I'm doing it the opposite! Five days at WDW before unwinding 10 days in Aulani!! 8-) "SingingMom" ....Sent from my iPad using DISBoards
Wow!! Sounds heavenly!! We are planning a 2017 trip to DL and Aulani! Hope you'll report back with your experience!

Super cute calendar and MB!!
Man, I was looking forward to TTA :(

38 days for us! This was my kids' and husband's first week out of school. DH found out yesterday that he is getting a promotion! Assistant principal! We are so pumped.

For all of you that have been to WDW before, how did you handle getting your extra stuff home? Ship it? Bring an extra suitcase?

Bonnie, I am also trying to lose a little before I go. I know I won't hold back when I get there! Sometimes, I just know that I'm going to overeat, but that doesn't mean it needs to be unreasonable. I do my best to eat really healthily most of the time, so every once in a while an indulgence is acceptable.

It's definitely going to help unwind from the school year :) :) My one sister is a GM for a major retail store, and she couldn't get off work in late July, but that's when Disney was booked due to it being Deluxe Value Season, so this is our trip for HER :)

That's what we did last year (actually back to back weeks.) My husband and I went to WDW, then I literally got home on Friday afternoon and we (my mom, sisters, and I) left for Panama City Beach on Saturday morning. It was SO fun, but by the end of the beach week I was EXHAUSTED :lmao: I would LOVE to go to Aulani! Have a fantastic time and take lots of pics for us!

You are one of the Swan/Dolphin fans, right? :-)
Going to be VERY hard for DD and I not to be staying there this trip! It's our home away from home!

Yes :) We stayed there two years ago and really enjoyed it, but I'm excited to be back at the CR and trying BLT for the first time. :goodvibes:goodvibes I like to change things up all the time. It makes it more exciting to not always know what to expect and to have some "surprises." :)

On another note.....
I'm having a Vera Bradley "issue." I know, first world problems :rotfl: I have been waiting for the Where's Mickey pattern to be back in stock for FOREVER. I really want a backpack for our trip. I saw that they have them at the new Co-Op, but I'm fearful (based on last time they had them in stock) that they'll be totally gone by the time we go. I know there are some on Ebay, but it makes me totally :furious: that people go and scoop them all up and then try to sell them for almost twice the price (or more!) I don't want to support that! Anyone been there recently (or have friends who were) that could report back for us about the availability of the stock?

This week has been a very busy one at work and at home.

My oldest, DD, graduated from High School on Wednesday. My two sons had projects and studying for finals. They have one more week until the end of school.

Next weekend will be my daughter's last dance recital so the whole weekend will be busy and bittersweet. I need to look for pictures now to decorate the dressing room. Then we will leave the following weekend to go to Myrtle Beach for her last dance workshop and competition. Then three weeks later it will be time to head to WDW.

I think I will need a vacation by myself in August to recuperate!

They are in stock online right now, and when I was down 2 weeks ago were in stock at world of disney as well. Go to disneystore.com and search "vera" :)

Thank you so much. I saw that, however, they only have the Midnight Mickey pattern available. There are two Where's Mickey items on there (not the backpack,) but when you click on them it says SOLD OUT. That's one thing that drives me crazy about the Disney Store. If it's sold out, take it off the site! ;)

oh, oops! I got the patterns mixed up. (you'll have to excuse me, running on 3 hours of sleep today! haha) I saw that one in the MK emporium, though and there was a ton of stock. I think they had some in WOD too, but I specifically remember a ton of that one in the emporium.

No just mousing around to be seen, though. Which is my favorite so that is a shame!

Thanks so much! I saw it in the pictures from the Co-Op opening yesterday. I wonder if I should call Disney Merchandising?

I'd give it a shot! I used them before to locate a replacement ring for one I bought that broke. They should be able to help you. I believe the shipping fee is $10.

Getting ready for Disney in only a few short weeks! Looking for pointers on packing for a newbie. What's a must have item? What have you brought with you that you never actually used?
