I don't know what happened to me this week, but I'm suddenly getting cold feet about July 4th

I had planned Epcot for that day, but wondering if we should just skip the parks altogether. .... after planning this summer trip so that we could be there for the 4th

How late do you think we can risk arriving at Epcot, if we are just going for the fireworks and maybe the evening EMH?

Is anyone else bummed about the recent ticket price increases? Not only has WDW gone up, but now Universal has also. A two-day park-to-park ticket at Universal went up $29; times that by six for my family and that's a significant increase! I thought I would be safe buying my tickets before May, after all isn't that when the price increases usually happen? This change will force me to skip the park-to-park upgrade and just do single-park tickets at Universal. So much for the Hogwarts Express!

At least WDW has a new ticket offer for parties of 6 or more that will help offset the ticket increase for us.

We were bummed too! We are planning to go to Universal in December. We went ahead and bought our AP's to avoid the increase. I heard a rumor that Universal will raises prices a 2nd time before the new HP expansion opens!

I'm in for July! Our dates are actually June 28-July 8 and we are staying at the Poly. Unless the construction gets too bad and then we will move to???. If we can get a decent discount we might book CL at the Poly since my family loves the convenience of the lounge, especially for breakfast. We aren't doing the DDP this time- it just doesn't work as well for us as it used to. But we have plenty of ADRs.

I just watched the livestream of the Festival of Fantasy parade and I'm even more excited about our trip.

We LOVE the Poly!!! And love love love CL, although we havent stayed CL at the Poly. We love it for b-fast too. so convenient!!
We havent been able to stay on site since we bought a condo about a half hour away. I am not complaining about that but do miss it.
i'll have to check out the parade since my family hates sitting through parades, its hard for me to even see them anymore.

I agree that it can't get here soon enough! I'm just waiting for spring/warm weather to get me through. It's supposed to be almost 50 today which should melt off more of the snow on the ground but now we're supposed to get 6 inches more on Wednesday!

DS3 keeps asking if we can go to WDW "the next day" or "after night night time". It's so cute. I showed him and DD5 a picture of Anna and Elsa in the parade yesterday and DS said we need to go see the parade "far far away" but we could leave right then. DD just declared it's just waaaay too far away until we leave.

We thought about keeping it a surprise but when they kept bugging us about when we going back, we decided to tell them we're going in the summer.

That and DD keeps going on and on about meeting Elsa and Anna (because she would be "so devestated if she doesn't get to meet them". Lucky me I was able to get an 800 ADR at Akershus on our EPCOT day which we like to eat there anyways so if things don't change by then, at least we'll be in the park early and I can scoot out of breakfast early to wait.

No. And I voted accordingly in their poll. Really, in my view, tickets cost x amount and we are already discussing how expensive it has become for a day in the parks, even on multi day tickets. Every time you buy a FP+ you would be effectively adding to that per person per day cost to be in the parks .... for something that you understood your ticket to cover when you bought it. Not for me thanks

I totally agree. It is expensive enough. APs are ridiculous!! You definitely shouldn't pay extra for something we got all along.

I wouldn't pay either. I really think that all this FP+ talk is just part of the "growing pains" process. It may not be for the best, but everything changes, right?

Hey, I miss the days of characters just randomly walking through the park at unannounced times. I thought it added to the magic, but that isn't going to ever happen again.

I realize that many aren't happy with the FP+ system, but we could go back to the days of no FP at all. I personally don't like having to plan so much of my vacation in advance. I mean, it's March and I already know what park I plan to go to each day and where I'm eating. Eh, I like general plans.... but that is a bit much for me. I do it because I would rather be no where else than Disney, and to go to Disney I have to plan.

So, with the new FP+. We will pick our 3 rides for the day and go on with life. Hey, I'll be at Disney. I'll be happy. Heck, I am even dreaming of swimming in the awesome pool! I'm just happy to be there.
