OK - Need some help here :confused3

This FP+ thing has Midori and I all torn up to the point we are thinking of canceling WDW and Going West to DLR.

Love WDW and all of the parks, been going for years.. In the beginning the FP's were not a big part of the we toured Disney. Now - it plays 90% of how were tour the parks. Riding the rides is what we truly love to do.

Being restricted to 3 FP a day is really cramping our style. Please do not think I am posting this to bum everyone out but I really need some advice.

Lucy and her Mother will be here today around 130pm to discuss alternatives. Last year was the first time Lucy and her Mother visited WDW and they loved how many rides they were able to ride.

I personally think this years FP+ system would ruin the excitement they are expecting.

What To Do :scratchin

OK, here's what I would advise:

Take a deep breath, and don't change a thing. Make your 3 FP+ reservations, and then just go wtih the flow.

I'm one of those type 1, gotta get it done and planned a million months early kind of girls. But sometimes life forces us to stop and smell the roses a little. I think that this is going to be one of those times for a lot of Disers, myself included.

And if you can't get on TSM or Space Mountain or Soarin' , well that's OK. Maybe you'll actually see some of the lesser prioritiy attractions-- the Tiki Birds or the Carosel of Progress. Maybe you'll get there at rope drop, tour till it gets crowded, then have a wonderful afternoon at the resort. Maybe you'll suck it up, get into the standby line, and force yourself to meet new people on line, taking in the amazing mix of personalities and cultures represented there. Maybe you'll spend more time in the countries at Epcot, where FP never really did factor in anyway.

Find a way to make this work for you.

But don't cancel your vacation. WDW is about so very much more than the big rides.

I'm a teacher whose school is going to IPads next year. So it means that between now and September, I have to challenge every single thing I've learned about teaching since I started it in 1980, to evaluate what now works and what can or should or should not be changed. In fact, I'm on the Dis to give myself a break from writing an ebook we'll be using for my Algebra classes.

Yes, it's exhausting and kind of frightening. But it's an amazing process, to take that step back and challenge what you've always known to be the best way to tackle something.

I feel the same way. Even worse! Bc I can't even book FP+ in advance yet and it's so frustrating thinking about the lines.
My DH even considered not renewing our APs bc of all this FP+ crap.
If I had the option ( which I don't ) I would definitely go to DL this year.

Hi All,

So here goes with my first ever post! I've been a long time lurker since booking my trip to Disney, utilising all the tips available here on the boards, so I can only say a huge thank you to you all for the help I have gained from these forums already, without any of you even knowing it!

Myself and my fiancé are coming to WDW from 30th June 2014 until the 9th July 2014 for our Honeymoon! We get married on the 27th June in the UK (I'm british, he is American) before coming on our honeymoon, then we are headed straight from the honeymoon to San Francisco to do the wedding all over again - we were so keen to make sure all of our families got to celebrate with us we decided to do it twice!

Anyway, enough abut the wedding, back to Disney. We will be staying at the POFQ (after gaining lots of advice and opinions from reading others posts on here!) and are so excited!

We made all of our ADR's whilst he was here in the UK visiting me (we are currently apart.....visa complications!) and got everything we wanted from them! A BOG dinner reservation, Wishes Dessert Party, Victoria and Alberts on our last night, Fantasmic Dining Package, Sci Fi Dine in and a few more I can't quite remember of the top of my head, but can fill in if anyone is interested?!

Anyways, just wanted to say hello, and be able to say how excited we are to be coming! :-D

It really isn't as bad as everyone makes it seem. I agree it stinks you can't re-ride or park hop but there is so much to do @ WDW that with a good touring plan you can get a lot done. Just not the same things over and over on the same day. I was there in December and used the optimizer on Touringplans app and got everything I wanted to do done. I would have liked to do TSM a couple more times but that is about it

Thanks so much! I just took a look on my MDE app (I needed to properly write down all my ADR's anyway! Here's our dining plans....not too much, not too little, just enough for us to try the places we want to on the days we want to and leave space for special experiences inbetween (we are doing some tours and 'days off' since it is our honeymoon!)

01.07.14:-
Sci Fi Dine In Lunch (my choice!)
Mama Melroses Dinner - part of Fantasmic dinner package!
02.07.14:-
Rainforest Cafe DTD dinner (fiancés choice!)
03.07.14:-
The Plaza lunch
Wishes Dessert Party (help us avoid all the crazy busy crowds we expect will be around for the special fireworks!)
04.07.14:-
Chefs De France lunch
San Angel Inn dinner (fiancés choice!)
05.07.14:-
California Grill (hopefully timed right to catch the fireworks during dinner!)
06.07.14:-
BOG Dinner
07.07.14:-
Rose and Crown (my choice.....bit of a family tradition - timed to watch the fireworks hopefully!)
08.07.14:-
Victoria and Alberts - special last meal :-D

We are so happy with everything so far - fully aware of what we have let ourselves in for with coming at that time of year, but had no choice, so we would rather plan ahead and be prepared than not go at all!

Next important date is to book those crazy FP! Good thing I'm good with technology with all this pre planning!

Edited to add... This seems to be a much more friendly thread than some of the others. Thanks for being so friendly!!

We aim to please, and help, and answer questions, and post links, and anything else we can help with. I don't know why some others aren't as friendly, but I do know that we have a GREAT group of Disers here!

That so neat.. your own photo session without interruptions...We also love the late EMH, usually stay until they kick us out :lmao:

For some Magical reason I have so much energy during our Disney Vacation. Return back to the resort around 2AM - 230AM and I am up drinking coffee in the lobby pecking on my computer enjoying the lobby couch around 4AM. :confused3 We are rope drop people in the AM and night owls in the PM.

Must me the inter-child coming out at Disney...

Oh, trust me... my "inner child" comes out as well. Sadly, my "too old for my actual age body" has conflicts with my inner child. Fortunately, my husband knows how it is, and he is just happy to be anywhere with me. :) (see info on our 2008 trip in my sig) We don't let me hold us back, though. We enjoy every minute we can! :goodvibes I once had a doctor tell me. "Everyone has a normal. This is just your new normal." So, i take that to heart.... what is normal for everyone else is not my normal. How my life works is normal for me, and we know how to work with it. Truly understanding and recognizing that takes the extra stress out of trying to push me beyond my limits. My DH is soooo understanding. he rocks! That's why he gets rewarded with a Disney trip now and then. hehe.

Putting an offer in on a house this morning. Now, just waiting to hear if it's accepted! Too anxious. Hope it works out for us. It's a great house!

Oh, best of luck on that!!! pixiedust:
