Thoughts on park hopping now?

I am thinking of a possible park hopping plan...just don't want to run ourselves too ragged...

Those of you taking afternoon breaks and going back to your resort, how feasible is it to do when at a moderate resort?

Trying to determine how much time it would take if trying to do breaks back at POR...

Hello - its me again

We have stayed at the Moderate Resorts many times and it has been our experience going back to the Resort, Bus wait times can be up to 30 minutes depending on the crowds coming and going to the Parks.

Going back to the Parks is a 50-50 chance. You could walk up to your Resort Bus stop and the bus could be waiting or you could have missed the bus by a few seconds. Then it could be a 10 to 20 minute wait. CBR has multiple stops within their Resort grounds so it can take up to 15 minutes longer.

Hope this helps and I am sure others have their experiences to share also.

Thanks

:ssst: Oh!! by the way forgot our Favorite Tour Groups may be there the same time so wait times on your favorite rides may be a little longer.. Just be patient....:tiptoe: and :drinking1 plenty of water all day...

A few years back we did a POR/Poly split stay. While we enjoyed POR, we said we'd never do a mod again with the kids and taking afternoon breaks because we spent way too much time either waiting for buses or being on one. :-). We also now rent a car when we go too so we have more flexibility.......or maybe we are all just impatient! Haha!!!

Kind of why I'm leery of park hopping too...unless it's from MK to EP or EP to HS I guess...will have to do some more thinking and planning...

OK So now I am asking for opinions. I see the previous posts and that sort of answers part of my question about the size of mods. We may have a few days to go back for pool time in the afternoon so I'll have to keep that in mind.

We've always stayed at Values in the past but last year we were at Movies at the tail end of July and there were some tour groups but it wasn't too bad and we had a Toy Story room on the backside so it wasn't very noisy - only 1 or 2 nights of them being loud, and that wasn't even bad from where we were.
I'm concerned with going back there because of going mid July thinking it may be worse now.

For anyone who has stayed in AOA in July before - are there a lot groups there? I would love to return to the LM rooms and that's one of my considerations.

We're also considering CBR and POR or POFQ. Our kids will be 6 and 4 and my parents will be in a separate room (We considered a suite at AOA but that's too close for that long of a time with the 6 of us together).

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Good Morning - Can not help you with the AOA question but we have stayed at all of the Moderates you spoke about.

CBR - there has been tour groups there. POFQ and POR - I personally have not seen any groups there.

POFQ costs a tad more so maybe that is a factor for the tour groups.

Hello fellow Dis'ers. I have had two snow days so I've gone into Disney overload. :dance3:

Us too. We have a five day weekend. I need to do some planning today. We think we might take the kids to Lego Land since we are driving. Need to do some research today.

Good Morning - I promise Spring will be here soon. :cool1: Stay warm and safe this weekend and plan, plan, plan for DISNEY!!!:yay:

Lucy and Kathleen will visit us on Sunday to go over all of the new Disney changes.. We have to get our FP+ list for each day planned so when we receive the MB, we will be ready at 60 days out. :)

I am also in the midst of lots of snow days... sadly we are now losing our spring break which stinks...

Did anyone else see that the Jammin' Jungle Parade is supposed to end in June? I am so bummed about that... we love that parade! It now has me thinking about our original plans because we were going to do 2 half days there - one morning and leave after lunch and one in the afternoon and watch the parade and then tour the park again... now I'm thinking we might just to do one day instead...

I saw that... :-/

:thumbsup2 How much of a difference do you think being limited to just 3 FP+ a day will be?

For us.... It will be a big difference. Not exaggerating, we go through at least 10 sets at each park daily.

DD and I have been able to scientifically calculate :lmao:when to go to the FP machines to retrieve new FP's because our touring habits have not changed in 7 years.

I foresee Standby lines to be a big part of our vacation if we want to ride the rides as we have in the past. :furious:

Wow, you had that down to a science.:rotfl: I'm really upset that you can't park hop with them.:confused3 I hope that once they get feedback from guest that they will make changes to the system.

Yea... It is ride, ride, ride and then in the afternoons if we do not go back to the resort to rest, we do the shows to cool off and take cat naps. Then we are ready to go, go again in the evenings.

Since the FP+ is here to stay.. I am hoping they will offer addition FP's for purchase. I would go for that in a minute. I would even pay up to 7.50 per pass just to ride our favorite attractions.

Being restricted to only 3 FP's a day really bums us out. Yes, we are very spoiled to have been able to acquire so many FP's in the past.

Park Hoppers - I do not have feedback, we have never purchased hoppers.

Because of my health issues, we can't be this ambitious. But, I wish I could be! :) We are go with the flow kind of people. we sleep in and we stay late.

One thing about going in the summer that works for us is how late the parks are open. We are night owls, and it's awesome. I do have to say that EMH at Epcot was awesome last time we went. We were in Morocco and it was so empty we had a little "photo shoot". We used the rented scooter as a stand for the camera and we took pictures of us together. It is one of the best memories only because it is so rare for anywhere in Disney to be that empty. Actually, a lot of cool things happened that night. :)
