*** The Official July 2014 thread, join us won't you? ***

Last April I got engaged at Disney. We will be doing a cruise from 20-24th for our honeymoon before heading to Coronado Springs for the 24th-28th for the rest of our honeymoon and my bday!

Looking forward to some discounts hopefully?

Still snowing in Wyoming. And I am just amazed at how much our little group has grown. Deep sigh, not opening a can of worms here.... but, What's everyone thoughts on the new changes? What are you going to do to make the best of it? Me: I am not happy about the 3 FP pre day. So, I am going to use them wisely. I expect long lines, and hot temps. We will make the best of it. Curious about what your plan is?

Our plan is to arrive at rope drop and do as many rides as possible with minimal waits and save our FPs for when we return to the parks late afternoon for MK. We don't spend full days at AK or HS so we will plan our FP to correspond with arrival, whether that's morning or afternoon. Same with Epcot...we tend to do rides in the morning and save WS for later, so we'll make those FPs for the am. Since we are registered for the DAS from our Thanksgiving trip that will give us more flexibility as well for tier 1 rides or rides my children may like to ride more than once. We are use to crowds (traveled last April spring break and Thanksgiving week) but the heat will be new to us. So we'll see how that figures in to the equation. Booked earlier lunches and later dinners trying to protect that pool/rest time!

Trying to do RD for our MK days at least to do as many rides as possible, then FP+ for afternoon/evenings...planning to utilize rider swap for some of the coasters, etc. since DD is too small still for those...DS can get in two rides that way at least.

I've never been a hardcore touring person, so I'm not sure it will affect us too much. My husband doesn't like the thrill rides, and the ones i don't like I plain can't do anymore because of medical stuff. Soooo.... I think we should be okay. We have a "do what we can" attitude normally anyway. But, i will be curious if it adds to wait times on the rides we do go on since many people would get FP for the headliners that we don't ride.

Maybe it will work in our favor and the FP lines will be shorter for the things we ride because everyone else used theirs for the headliners!

The main thing that bothers me is the fact that you can't park hop using FP+.:sad2: That puts a real damper on what I like to do.

That's the way that I feel. We didn't have a problem with it I'm the fall when we went but many people still weren't part of the Magic Band test and there were still legendary fast passes that you could pull. Not sure how it will work in the summer.

:welcome: to our group! Congratulations on the marriage and the honeymoon coming up! I will get you added to our front page.

I have no idea what or how we will really tour this time. Since we have been there quite a few times, we know what we like and must do, but if we miss some things, we might be ok since we have done them before. But on that kind of note (opening another can of worms here) I would LOVE to thank the idiots that ruined the GAC system for those of us that actually need and use them appropriately!!! You deserve some kind of torture but I am not sure what (please no flaming) :sad2:. Having a son with Autism and now having to go from attraction to attraction just to get return times so we don't have to stand in lines, since we would have a melt down from people touching, breathing on and making to much noise near my son, this will definitely be a new experience for us at Disney. I know this is not Disney's fault and I hope that it works out for us, but those fake people who hired disabled people hold a place in my mind that is not very Disney-like! Not that we would get on rides right away, we had space to move or not many people around us really works for my son. Not sure what will happen this trip. Hoping for lots of pixie dust and NO melt downs!!!

We have 1 MUST do at Epcot and that is Teppan Edo. Some people don't like it but our whole family LOVES it. Love the show, food is good but only thing we find lacking in the place is that there are no really stand out desserts.

Thanks for that! Showed my DF and he likes the sound of Teppan Edo so he's going to book it this week !
I think we'll just wing the rest :thumbsup2

To All - Just a thought... Not a rumor... I wonder if the next step to the FP+ system will be... if you want more Fast Passes, you can purchase them for $$$

To be honest, the new fast pass+ system won't affect us much.

We are morning people, even on vacation, so we are up and at rope drop every morning. We even have 8am breakfast a couple of mornings so we can be in the parks before they open. We get a lot done early in the day, and either go back to the resort for a break, or take it slow if we stay in the parks.

Actually, fast pass + will be great for us because we won't have to go out of our way to get FPs for Toy Story Mania or Soarin, we can get a decent seat for Fantasmic without any worries, and I'm sure we'll find other ways to make the new system work in our favor. :yay:

There were negative with the old system, and there will be negatives about this system. I don't see any negatives getting in our way of having a great time though. :smokin:

DH and I were at WDW in Dec and used the FP+ and MB and really liked them. Had no problem at all. We stayed at Pop so was not able to use the old FP system. We also got to pick our FP+ before they started the tier system at EP and HS. That is the part that I don't really like and will be different when we go in July. We are rope drop people and DH likes it now that he doesn't have to be the "runner" to get the FP's. Sure I would like to have more that 3 FP's at the MK but we will make it work and have fun. For the most part we liked how the FP+ and MB worked.

Looking forward to July. It is still snowing in Ohio too and I have had enough!!

:welcome: to our increasingly larger by the day group! Glad to have you on board. Your itinerary sounds fun, wish I was also going on a cruise as well as a WDW vacation! If you let me know where you are staying while on land, I will add that to the front page. I have your dates already there. If you would like to add any touring plans or ADR's, I will gladly add them as well. We are all a friendly bunch so if you have any questions or topics, just jump right in and we will be sure to answer or help as best we can.

That's what I'm hoping for actually. :) Some days on my plan I'm not even sure what to get a FP for because there really isn't much we do. I may FP some meet and greets, which makes me laugh since it's just me and my DH. However, we do the greets, so it will just go faster.

I have no idea what or how we will really tour this time. Since we have been there quite a few times, we know what we like and must do, but if we miss some things, we might be ok since we have done them before. So I have a question about this. Do they have a system where you can get special access with proof of disability or something? I was wondering how that works. I would hope that they would adapt for your son. Everyone should enjoy themselves, and he is no exception.

I know I usually end up in a scooter when I am there. I have no obvious health issues, and I can walk. However, due to some extreme things that have happened to me, my ankles swell up like balloons and hurt like crazy. I don't need "special treatment" when it comes to the rides, but long lines cause issues when it comes to standing for too long. Of course, I get stared at by other people as if the reason I have the scooter is because I am "pooh sized." I hate how people judge. We are all humans. Go about your own business and let me enjoy my stay! Whoops... sorry for the rant. :)

ANYWAY.... I do hope there will be accommodations for your son, and I would like to know what they are.

We are NOT morning people. :) There are positives and negatives to everything, right? I remember back to before fast passes. Remember those days? We just all waited in lines. It's nice that Disney incorporated this system at all. They could have just left it to the extremely painful long line for all rides system, but they didn't. Kudos to them for offering this bit of relief.

I'm also looking forward to using the FP+ to see Fantasmic. We have yet to see it because neither my husband nor I would wait two hours to see it. This way we can get a seat and not have to wait. :thumbsup2

I was told that we go to each attraction and they will tell us what time to come back so we won't have to wait in lines. So that means that we have to go to each attractions and get return times before we can ride anything if there are lines already. We always say we want to do rope drop, but we never quite make it. So, we will walk from attraction to attraction find our return times and then go to each one in order of return time. Just a bunch of extra walking around to finally get on a ride so that my son doesn't have a melt down... UGH!!! I guess we will just have to see if this is what really happens. :confused3
