~~**The Official January 2014 Group**~~

we will be traveling to WDW in Jan 2014 (1/1 to 1/15). Any helpful tips... any do's don'ts?

Here is a stupid question .... when folks inquire about the "free dining plan" is there really such a thing or are we talking about a discounted dining plan??

Thanks, in advance for any insight

I have been seeking FP+ info, but am under the impression no-one knows for certian :(

yes there is such a thing as free dining. We stay at Swan & dolphin in Jan so not eliegible (DH has a business conference and must stay there) We have used it several times in Sept - Oct Look under the discounts section to see what discounts are currently available

good luck!

Hi! There is free dining offered but only with a pin right now. The other offer out now is the play stay and dine where everyone pays kids prices for the park tix and dining plan. It's not as much of a discount as free dining but it's still a good deal if you're staying on property already anyway. Are you staying on Disney property? You also have to book a whole package (meaning room, park tix and dining plan). The offer doesn't start until January 5th though. If I were you, I'd price out making 2 separate reservations. 1 from the 1-5th & the other from 5th-15th with the special offer. I don't know how worth it it would be because you'd have to pay for the park tickets for the 1-5 but maybe a CM can help you see what's cheaper. If you go to character meals & buffets, I think the dining plan is very worth it. You'll have to make advanced reservations but you can get some nice meals in with it. Good luck and enjoy your trip!!!!

Heading to WDW staying at AoA again. Last year we were in a Nemo suite (because we took my sister with us), this year we're in a Little Mermaid room. Trying to figure out how nights are going to work. Girl goes to bed earlier than us two grown-ups and needs it dark, but we'll need light to plan our next days festivities. LOL Any ideas?

We'll be there from Jan 14 - 23... but those first and last days we'll likely see nothing but airports. It's a LONG day of traveling.

Bringing my 6 year old girl and 4 year old boy.

ETWB
BTMRR (Not sure if they'll want to ride or not but I love this!)
Fireworks viewing - if offered still.

We're not going to DHS and I haven't researched the FP+ for AK yet. We have 2 days at MK so I need to figure those out! I'm hoping that since we are doing several character meals I won't need to do the FP+ for meet/greets.

Have you thought about character spot at Epcot for the kids?
What is ETWB? That is a new one for me to figure out.

Hi everyone!

Is there a master list anywhere of what attractions are available for fast pass+? I've been trying to follow along with other threads but have not found a master list yet. Thanks!

If you check out www.wdwprepschool.com she has several articles labeled "complete guide to (fill in park here) attractions" and for most things lists if FP+ SHOULD be available. Of course it's not 100% for sure it'll stay that way, but it should give you an idea.

99 days.. That's double digits folks. I'm still waiting to hear if I'm bringing my nephew with me or not, but it's looking unlikely so right now I'm planning it as a solo trip.

I've already extended it by a day coming home early Saturday feb. 1st rather than Friday afternoon.

There has been a lot of reading and planning and I just can't wait. So far I'm planning for 4 days at Disney World and a day at Universal and I may take a day away from DW to visit Sea World. I'm still thinking about that one. I also have to squeeze some time to visit relatives in the area. This is going to be an awesome 42nd birthday vacation. I feel like a kid again, lol.

So this morning when I logged into MDE I got a pop-up that said to customize MB and select FP+. Since my DS's weren't showing up with Park tickets, I went to link them...things crashed. So I logged out, logged back in, and now I'm not getting the customize MB or choose FP+ pop-up and it looks just the same (Manage MBs) as it has all along. We arrive at POP on 12/31 and leave 1/9. Did I blow something up?? Any ideas on what to do?? Thanks in advance!

YAY! Going to WDW January 18-25th! Surprise Christmas present for my 6 year old daughter, who has been bugging me to go since she was 3....I haven't been there in 13 years, went every summer as a kid, and I think i am going to be looking forward to this more then she will!
Can't wait to see all the new stuff...my daughter is going to LOVE the new Belle attraction
Thanks for all the imput on this thread! So many helpful things to know...especially since never going in January, it's good to know to bring a jacket...but can we still SWIM?? LOL:goodvibes
Staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek...so still on Disney property!
CAN'T WAIT!!! :cool1:

We just booked a flight and van rental for 1/26 - 2/2. We're flying into Clearwater/St. Pete's and driving in...got some good fares, and I don't mind the drive. Plus, we can stop along the way to get supplies. We're bringing a new family along with us. We still need to book our rooms and order tix...can't decide between the dining plan offer or room discount. We're looking at Pop.

I actually did the Happy Dance(three times) so I had to post - yesterday I got the Disney Visa discount for our resort and saved $290!!!!! :cool1: So for our 2-person, 8-day, 5-park day trip at ASMu, I've been calculating that by the time we depart, we'll have save $1,782 in various rewards and discounts!!!! That's enough for another trip!!!!! Nearly $400 of that is due to info I received from the DISboards! YAYYYYYY!!!!!!

We are going 1/1-1/5 and have Disney Visa but haven't gotten any info about any deals. We just miss the free dining by one day and am dying to get any discounts!! Any help would be appreciated.

And I'm so excited I just found this group - I'm obsessed with counting down the days but since it's a Christmas surprise for our 2 & 14 year old I don't know how I'll make it!! Maybe this board will help :)

What are people's thoughts on the purchasing the Photopass CD ahead of time. Is it worth it?
