Add me onto the list. I'm planning to stay at AOA Jan 3/4 to Jan 6 then a friend is adding me to her ressie for Jan 9-12 but we have to wait for her 7 month window to open to see where we're staying. I haven't decided if I'm staying with DSis in Four Zcorners,FL , going to safety harbor FL, or booking additional nights at Disney for the in between nights

Hmmm... I prefer the French Quarter side due to size, but I may consider the riverside side and get a preferred room for my legs. But that depends on the discounts! If no discounts I will do a value!

Heather....please add me to the list!! We will be at the BWV from January 4 - 11th. This will be my DIL's first visit, as well as first visit for my (then) 2 year old DGD! Having several trips under our belt as a family of 4, with 2 sons, I'm soooo looking forward to female company and an excuse to do everything princess-related! btw, I'm also from Manitoba.

I have been searching for months on resorts and different options. Right now I am really interested in renting the DVC points and using one of the website services where you can buy them from. Just hoping I'm not making a mistake going down this road and then free dining happens to be offered that month. Right now I'm kind of set on this because love the Wilderness Resort, and rent DVC appears to make saying at the location a possibility.

Looking forward to reading all of your posts and getting great ideas!

Just wanted to say, we have rented points twice and experienced no problems whatsoever. LOVE the BW and can't imagine not staying there!

We are planning a January trip however are wondering if folks that have gone in January would recommend a trip from Jan 11 - 25th vs January 25th - Feb 8th. Wondering if it is best to avoid Marathon weekend and MLK weekend which is what our present trip is anchored with. We were there in Jan 2012 and the crowds over the MLK long weeeknd were intense plus reading this past January was pretty busy. Also hoping the chance of some sort of discount might have better odds if we stay away from these weekends.

Suggestions/advice appreciated.

yes, there are more tour groups in January. We occasionally found them a little on the loud side, but haven't had any major issues.

I would say later January is better in terms of lower crowds.

That is what we are thinking - so leaning towards moving dates to later January/Early February.

Tour groups usually go at the END of the month!

Both when we were there. Dancers on one weekend, cheerleaders another plus a few foreign groups. We had planned on the dancers and cheerleaders but the other groups caught us off guard. There was a young group of ladies "fifth teens" that we found to be very rude.

Every January we go around the 24-25th.(check in the last weekend in January) ..and our week extended until Feb 1st or 2nd ish... we LOVE that time of year at the world!

The weather is fantastic and the crowds & ride wait times are minimal.

Last January we went on Test Track 3 times and Sorin twice before noon.
We use to go in April but after making the change to January the one year we were hooked!

We saw a bunch of tour groups from Brazil. But you just watch where they go..if they are headed to a ride just pick another one!
