well finally made surprise announcement to all the kids yesterday. We did Christmas yesterday because all are going away for xmas to other parents. I can now join in on the facebook group......they were all so excited. Ages 16-9, 6 kids in all, 3 of them will be first timers too. We announced that we bought DVC and that we are also going to Hilton Head Island resort for Spring Break as well. The youngest said " this is the best xmas ever." ))))

Less than 2 weeks until we leave. We plan to tell the kids on Christmas but I don't think I can wait much longer. I've had the magic bands wrapped under the tree for a few weeks and they keep shaking the box trying to figure out what it is. I'm so excited - I can't wait!!

WOW!! What a great surprise a trip to Disney and HHI!! We did HHI for the first time last year.

I normally hang out on the cruise boards, because we have taken 5 so far with no visits to the parks. My lovely daughter has been wanting to see the new Fantasyland. It did not take much convincing for me to start planning. We will be staying at the Shades of Green resort on property from January 17th to the 20th. I have also decided to get seasonal passes, so we can go back a couple more times(that part is a surprise).

Hey everyone, so I guess I am sorta part of this group now too lol On Saturday at the spur of the moment my best friend and I decided to go to Universal the end of January for the Harry Potter event. Well we are staying with her boyfriend (it's a long distance thing) so we originally added one day at the beginning of the trip so she could spend the day with him and I could go to Magic Kingdom. Now our flight home on Monday isn't until 9pm. I don't want to sit around and be a 3rd wheel so I decided to stay Sunday night at all star sports and spend Sunday night and Monday at the parks. I am super excited lol I am also going to be doing the keys to the kingdom tour. I will be alone on my Disney days though but I couldn't be so close and not go.

Oh and any tips for January? I have only been in summer or spring.

What is the "event" you're talking about and when is it? And just because I don't want to assume, will you confirm where it is? (I'm guessing U.S.I.O.A.) Thanks.

Oh, also doing the happy dance because on Christmas I get to give my mom (who is coming with me to WDW) her presents and it's all Disney-related stuff:

- a nice rain poncho (ha...she'll be glad and bummed to see that, both at the same time. It doesn't rain a lot here.)
- a Tigger Christmas stocking with little doodads for the trip, like crossword puzzles for on the plane, sunscreen, locking pin backs for her trading pins, etc.

I am excited! 34 days...we've been waiting since early 2011...the trip has been cancelled once and postponed once...now it looks like we're really going!

the gala sold out on that august day so i missed out on it.
i'll be staying at the darkside the second week of january now instead at the end of the month for the gala.

i switched my dates around and will be doing disney at the first portion of my january vacation hoping it won't have huge crowds.
it's a time period tha will be new for me at disney.

hope to read any helpful hints for early january at the motherland.

Just got our Magic Bands today...

We (wife, 2 kids and I) will be at Walt Disney World from January 19-25...

The countdown is really on now... kids (ages 4 & 7) are pumped!

My excitement is on overload!!! Disney sent an email with the tracking info for the magic bands and they will be delivered today!!!!!!! Wow, that was quick especially since my customization window closed on 1/22 so to get them 1/24 is awesome!!!! Now I'm hoping the secret doesn't get out

Now that is a lovely Christmas Eve delivery!!
Hopefully you can get them in the door and hidden away safely without prying eyes seeing them

The private event is for the sold out package but the other panels and discussions are first come first serve. We are just going to hope we get there early enough.
