We have 2 more ADR's that we are trying to decide. I guess more accurately, we have 2 more evenings to decide. We will be at WDW with our 2 girls and my mom is also going with us.
On our off day from the parks we are going to do Chef Mickey's for Brunch and have no plans yet for that evening.
On our Animal Kingdom day, my wife and I are planning on returning to EPCOT without the girls to have an adult evening while my Mom watches the girls.
We are trying to decide if we should have another Adult evening on our off night and book a nice restaurant for just ourselves. Or, should we book Ohana and take the whole family, eat there, and then watch the Wishes fireworks from the Beach after.
I guess we could book both. I could have my Mom take the girls to Ohana and We could book another place on our own.

If we book another restaurant for just ourselves, where would you go? Most of the other places we are going are your typical character meals.

The system would not allow me to make ADR's this mornning - kept saying it could not link my reservation. When I phoned, the automated system said I could make reservations as long as my arrival date was January 3 or sooner. We arrive January 4 and I was positive our 180 days was today. Finally got a live person on the phone who was able to make all my ADR's and all at my preferred times. So happy here this morning!

Can someone give me an idea about the crowd size for Fantasmic! on Monday Jan 6th, 2014? Overall, this should be a very low crowd size day. On very low crowd days, how crowded will Fantasmic get? Trying to decide if it is worth getting the Fantasmic Dining package?

We did get the dinner package this past January because the crowds are maddening when we usually go in June. I don't think we needed the package this time - not a huge crowd. Easy to get seats and no pushing like in June!

I couldn't make ADRs online this morning - had to phone. I sure hope they get it sorted if FP+ is going to be in effect by January! I'm fearful that January vacationers are going to be the experiment...

I am thinking we will be tested upon too. Hope it all goes well, taking my parents who have never stayed on site and haven't even been to Disney in years. Should be fun

I'm not worried about being a tester - I'm worried about being a guinea pig of the "real thing" with no fastpass only fastpass +. It sounds like they'll be testing in September, so I'm hoping that they won't be ready to go live with it all until after my vacation is done!

I'd love to have fastpass + options and regular fastpass!!

That's my exact fear too! And, here in Canada, we can't even really access MDE. I think it is going to take a long time to straighten it out. Please, Disney, just don't start it all in January!!!

Well the good news is that our WDW Vacation in January will NOT be cancelled much to the relief of our kids.
The bad news is that I can no longer fly from YYC(Calgary Airport).
As a result we will be travelling 4430km(or 2753 miles) one way to Florida in January. We hope to do it in 4 days down and 3 days home.
I dread the winter roads but am thankful that we agreed to rent a minivan to give everyone more space.
Any suggestions as to what to see? I know that we will spend some time going to Mt. Rushmore.
Any suggestions as to how to pass around the major centers or what roads to avoid?
We will be going thru MT,WY, SD, IO/NE, KS, MO, KY, TN, GA, and FL.

I can access it too, but can't actually do anything on it. The ADRs I made this morning on the phone are showing up in MDE bit I just tried to add another and can't I guess I will have to phone again in the morning

I was thinking that too. As PPs have said, an advantage of being in the "guinea pig" group is that you (probably) get to use FP and FP+ simultaneously (past guinea pigs have been able to do that).

I suspect, though, that it will be fully rolled out before January. Which could be good, if all of the bugs are worked out. Or it could be bad, if there are still plenty of bugs and we don't get any benefits from being guinea pigs.

I used the MDE website this morning to make my first ADR of our trip. I tried my iPhone app first with no luck for fantasmic package at Hollywood and Vine (it said I needed to call) so I switched to the computer. It took about 4 tries (first three said server was too busy, which I expected at 6am). After it went through it showed up in my reservations on both iPhone app and website.

Anyone have a guess on what time we can book tomorrow (July 10th). I am hoping for midnight so I can get my package all set before the 6am ADRs become available

We'll be there Jan 5-11! I planned a surprise trip for my family 5 years ago for early December to celebrate my mom's 50th birthday and successful stem cell transplant. It was such a wonderful time that now at her 5 year remission this year, they want to go back and celebrate again!! My parents are definitely not fans of "commercial" vacations so this made me appreciate the year long planning process even more

My husband of 9 months will also be with us, and his parents will come down to visit while we're there. Exciting! We're staying offsite in a vacation rental as we need the space and quiet... We'll be staying on the coast the 1st-3rd, then coming over the 4th. I think my husband and i will try to get in a day at Universal as well. Did I say I was EXCITED?!!

....I've been up since 5am trying and it won't work. I was only able to make an adr for jan 6th. It won't link my reservation to dining so I have to call now. UGH! Why don't they have a 1-800 #? Boo.

Tell me about it, I just spent $16 in long distance charges getting us booked. The poor CM on the phone couldn't even get the system to work.
