~~**The Official January 2014 Group**~~

We have booked our Resorts and Plane tickets :) so happy!!!!!!
We are Staying at BLT Dec 31-Jan 2, 2014. Then we are heading over to Old Key West Jan 2-Jan 7.

We have never been to disney in Jan. how is the weather and crowds during the end of the week we are there? I would love some insight.

Thanks in advance:cool1:

We went in January the first time last year, after always going in the summer. Loved it! We lucked out with an entire week of 80 degrees and very few lines. We are returning again this January and hope it is just as great!

April use to be our month to go UNTIL we went in January one year. Since then we are hooked! We have always had perfect weather. The crowds are minimal. Last trip we went on Test track 3 times without using a fast pass in one morning!

Temperature is warm but not too hot! Low- Mid 80's usually! But for us anything above freezing at the time of year is perfect!

We LOVE CBR!!!! Preferred rooms are the way to go at that resort. Big pool a short distance away and a nice and quiet pool right beside you :thumbsup2

HI!

I haven't been on in awhile but booking my ADR's this morning inspired me to check in.

I've always had good ADR experiences in the past but was worried this time about NYE. Had NO problems! Got everything we wanted at almost the exact times. Only times that weren't exact were NYE (got 15 minutes earlier so really no big difference) and BOG on the 5th. BOG we have to go with an early dinner at 4, but since it is our last night and since its BOG it will work just fine :goodvibes

Hi Group!:cheer2:
I might be coming for a short trip with my mother: Jan 15 - 18th....
And while that seems far away, I suddenly realized that for ADRs, it's real soon!!! I was waiting to see if any deals come out for discounts on property -
1. Does anyone know of anything yet? I'm hoping for a % off so we can do a deluxe resort for the first time.
2. Can anyone calculate my 180 day mark (or tell me how - other than counting back...:headache:) assuming a Jan 15 2014 arrival?
3. If I don't have a Disney resort ressie, how many days out can I get ADRs?

It's been 3 1/2 years - I forget:scared1:!
Thanks!

180 days out with no Disney ressie
190 days out with a Disney ressie.

I use this for ADR dates

July 19th is your 180 day mark for Jan 15th :)

Just booked our flight to the US! We will be at WDW for the first week of January staying a few days at AKL and the rest at our family home!

Hang on...all the gobs of information I've ever read on this thread or in any of the four recent guidebooks we have has only ever said that dining reservations can be made as early as 180 days, not any earlier. I am not aware that there is a legitimate way to get them earlier. A PP mentioning "190 days"...I'm curious where that came from. Hope it's not confusion about the 180 day + 10 rule which, as I understand, lets you make reservations 180 days out from your date of arrival for up to 10 days after that (for those blessed to be staying that long!).

We are booked for a room only at Pop right now January 4-11th! :cool1: We will definitely be upgrading to a package though, and may switch resorts before all is said and done.

I'm a January newbie! What are the chances Splash and/or the Osbourne Lights might still be going in our first few days of the vacation? My 180 day window opens on Monday, and I'm trying to plan accordingly. Right now neither the MK or HS are ideal for our first few days, but I will make it work if it means we get to ride Splash and see the Lights! Dang 180 day window making my planning difficult!:rotfl2:

Yes that refers to the 180 + 10 rule.

Technically in that case you can make up to 190 days out since it would be 10 days after the 180 mark.

I'd say try to get to HS right away on the 4th or 5th if possible. DSis works there & said it normally is up until about the 6th

Sooo excited and relieved! Just finished making all of my dining reservations for our Jan 2-8 trip! :cool1:

I had read of people having so many problems with the new website/My Disney Experience and I didn't have any of that. Phew! I hope everyone else gets their reservations that they want too! :woohoo:

Glad to hear that! My ADR date is in a week !

I am so glad I found this thread! I CAN NOT WAIT for January! I just talk about Disney 24/7 and I'm starting to drive my mom crazy

Arriving on the 9th, leaving on the 18th

Staying in the 3 bedroom Grand Villa at OKW from the 9th to the 15th with my family, then after my cousins leave, my mom, my friend and I are moving to a 1 bedroom lake view at BLT!!!!!!!

Cousins, friend, and I are running in WDW Marathon Weekend. Goofy Race and a Half Challenge here I come!! :cheer2:

Just made dining reservations for January and managed to get everything I wanted! Yay! :cool1:

I have had no problems using the website to book my ADR's the last 2 mornings. The site may be a bit slow at times, but no issues. The only thing that I did find was that I had to start fresh on the page right before time to book. The first morning I went to book, I had already logged into the page the night before and was on the restaurant that I wanted with the day I wanted already selected. I left the page open until the morning. I tried to hit the search for table button a couple of times, but it never found anything. I went ahead and closed my browser and went back in and it found plenty of tables at that time.

That's right. I just made ressies using the 180 +10 rule, so I made some for about 183 days from now.

I still had trouble getting a time that I wanted for BoG (being a party of 5 made it harder than if we were a smaller party), but I got one for a different day. Nothing showed up for CRT, though.
