Since there wasn't one started already, lol since it's SOOOO early, I thought I would start one for those of us going in January 2014.
Hoping for a free dining offer!
This will be my families 2nd trip to WDW! We just got back a week ago and we miss it terribly!
Can't wait to plan with you all!

January is a slow, laid-back time of year at Disney World. Even if you sleep in, you can still experience a lot of rides and attractions each day without much of a wait. January is an ideal time to explore some of Disney's great outdoor offerings like biking, horseback riding and camping. January is marathon month at Disney World, so put on your running shoes and join the fun--there are events for every member of the family.
The weather will be mild and comfortable most of the time, but don't be surprised if the mornings and evenings are chilly, with overnight frost a possibility. Pack a lightweight sweater and a jacket, and mix and match as needed during your trip.
Crowd Levels:
After the first few days of January, expect to see thin crowds as holiday travellers make their way home from Disney World. It should be easier than usual to secure the room you want at a price you can afford, and you may be able to snag a reservation at some of Disney's most coveted dining locations.
Perks:
Travel early in January and not only will you avoid the crowds, you'll also be able to enjoy Disney's holiday decorations before they come down. If you want to see just how incredible the holiday displays are without the frantic rush of the Christmas season, January is an ideal time for a visit.
Sports and outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy visiting Disney World in January. Look for the annual Disney Marathon this month, and consider camping at Fort Wilderness while the bugs and critters are hiding from the cold weather.
Tips:
Make sure you really need a Fastpass before inserting your park ticket. You may find that the standby line is short enough to enjoy rides like The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. Save your Fastpasses for big attractions like Splash Mountain or Space Mountain and you will be able to pack more rides into a single day.
Even though park attendance is lower, be sure to make Advanced Dining Reservations for table service restaurants. (Especially the new Be Our Guest in New Fantasyland)
January is a good month to bring a baby to Disney for the first time. The weather is mild, and it will be easier to get around, thanks to the low crowd levels.
Warnings and Cautions:
Expect some rides to be closed for refurbishment when you visit Disney World in January.
While low crowd levels mean more ride time for you, expect to see reduced park hours when you visit in January.
Even though Disney World resort pools are heated, it may feel too cold for swimming.

ADR's are Advance Dining Reservations!
You can make these when your "window" opens up. This happens 180 days before your vacation. For those MUST HAVE dinners (especially character meals) I suggest you make them at the 180. Especially if you're like me and trying to get a dinner ADR for Be Our Guest restaurant in New Fantasyland!

rotfl2: I only JUST got back on Oct 10th!!) so I need somewhere! Plus it's exciting to share it with others going at the same time. We'll all know each other well by January! So maybe there will be a dismeet or 2! 
I still have the fever and we went in 2011, we were there from Sept 24th-October 2nd so pretty much the same time that you went, just a year earlier. It's so much tougher not to talk about Disney or dream about going back when you first return from your trip, 
time has dulled it but I still can't wait to go back. I love going in Sept/Oct the weather is great, the crowds are nil and the free dining rocks.
