**The Official January 2012 WDW Thread**

who's on twitter?

I'm on there: @xbenailes

look me up and tweet at me and I'll add you :)

I'm so bummed about BTMRR and the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. I'm headed down for my CP and BTMRR is down for pretty much my entire program, stinks.

Oh! I am so sad the Main St. Electrical Parade is being refurbed when I am visiting WDW. :sad1: It is the highlight of my MK memories. Oh well. :headache: At least I don't have to revolve my MYW tickets around the day of the Parade.

I am going to make sure we get over to MK the first 2 days so we can ride Dumbo and BTMRR before they close. BTMRR is my favorite and of course we have to ride Dumbo at least once. DH thinks he is going to get me on Splash Mtn this time, but he has another think coming.

We don't care for MSEP, so that wouldn't be an issue for us, but DH does want to see the castle show with the pictures, can't remember the name of it.

I'm saddened by MSEP. We're west coasters so I grew up going to Disneyland and have fond memories of the parade. At least we'll be able to see it during the first part of our trip, although that will be Saturday of MLK weekend, so I'm sure it's going to be packed.

So as of last week there was no Disney in 2012 for us...I have been stalking the disneyworld site...just wishing I could make an excuse to go back...

I finally gave in and booked it Sunday...me and the three boys will arrive Jan 27 and stay thru Feb 1....4 full days in the parks I'll take it!!

They will be so surprised....debating telling them at Christmas or the 27th on our way to the airport (late flight)

Congrats!!! That's so exciting. We'll be there at the same time!

Wow!!! I'm actually a bit shocked that MSEP and Fantasmic are both down at the same time.

I had just rearranged our schedule to be sure we saw MSEP twice during our trip b/c I figured it wouldn't be back in 2013 when we go again...

We arrive 1/20, so unlucky us, we won't see it at all.

Ok, back to rearrange our schedule...I had us going to MK in the evening just to see the parade...

{sigh}

I want an upgrade. They should put me in the Grand Floridian. Sounds a little like Josh at easywdw, right? Well maybe a discount would have been nice or offering us another show or parade or something as a substitute. Especially after closing so many things for refurbishment. Mom and I were especially excited to see Main Street Electrical parade since we were not going to get to see Fantasmic. They also cut the rope drop shows at all parks except the Magic Kingdom, and her favorite ride of all Big Thunder Mountain Railroad which will also be down, and now MSEP too? It just seems lately all Disney does is make cuts and cancellations and yet the prices continue to rise at exhorbitant rates. I'm just bummed since I saved for well over a year for this trip and it's a once in a lifetime trip for Mom and I, and then all this.... I'll be happy to be at WDW and all but we pay full price and I want an upgrade, do you hear me Disney execs? Naw, just kidding on the upgrade, but geez give us a break here will you? Please leave something open?!!!! We're traveling over a thousand miles for this experience, spending thousands of dollars, and you do want me to return, right? and I want an upgrade. Who's with me on this?

Still overall, very very happy to be going to WDW in only 37 days! (Insert touchdown style dance here.)

Usually the changes are just additions, concentrated mostly around busier times. Basically they release the 'minimum' schedule 6 months in advance and then add hours, particularly at MK, if bookings demand it. We should see the updates come in a week or so at most but I don't expect to see a whole lot of changes outside of the first week of the month.

Looks like Wednesday the 25th is no longer and evening EMH at DHS - I doubt I made that up in my head but it's no longer showing on the calendar - that stinks:mad:

We're bummed about all the closings. Last time we were there we missed Fantasmic, now this time it's closed. I just wished they'd give a discount on the ticket prices with so much not happening. We picked the time for the low crowds not knowing that because of it they close so much.

For what it's worth, I've had the EMH hours on my spreadsheet for awhile and I did not have HS as having evening EMH on the 25th. The only time they had EMH according to my spreadsheet is the 23rd, otherwise, no evening EMH there from the 19th-29th...

I'm definitely a little bummed over MSEP. I had no interest in Fantasmic, but I can see why people would be upset over all of these things being down, as it does seems like a LOT in comparison to say, last year.

On the flip side, I'm trying to look at the brighter side of things. Both Splash Mountain and Star Tours will be open this year, and neither of those were open last late January. Those are two big attractions that I am absolutely thrilled to be riding this January. I'm sure I'm in more of a minority in being somewhat okay with the lack of MSEP and Fantasmic, but for me, I will take the low crowds in January any day than having everything open with higher crowds.

Having the ability to enjoy most attractions being open without sitting in lines for hours vs. having EVERYTHING open but having to wait hours upon hours... I'm personally for option A.

Don't see this as me not understanding why people are upset; I 100% get it and would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed with some of the closures. I guess for me I just figure there are so many things to do at Disney World, outside of just relaxing, that I try to stay positive about my upcoming trip.

30 day mark!!! :cool1: I can't believe it!! The time is just FLYING by with all the holiday craziness - so far I love my decision to go with a January trip!!! One month from today, we'll be there!

That's the week we'll be there and evening EMH for DHS have been listed as Monday the 23rd since they released the hours. Maybe they had the EMH up in error on the 25th one day? :confused3:

Wow, some of you guys are getting so close!
I absolutely love having a January trip because December always flys by with Christmas festivities and then you still have something to look forward to after New Year's. :)
