**The Official January 2012 WDW Thread**

Definitely looking forward to my first trip to WDW...and the fact I'm doing it solo. I'll be flying from Los Angeles via Virgin America on the 25th of January! I've heard plenty off good things and well, I might as well enjoy the journey to one of the best destinations ever!
The ADR I'm most looking forward to is my Dine with an Imagineer experience at the Hollywood Brown Derby. 75 days left!!

I get really scared flying too, but it's just me. Don't be scared. It is kind of fun traveling and looking out the window at the ground below. It looks like a patchwork quilt. Well, over land anyway, over ocean is probably b.o.r.i.n.g. so take a book to read or bring your ipod and some favorite tunes. I got some awesome pictures once of our plane silhouetted in the clouds as it was sunrise when we taking off and it cast a cool shadow on the clouds so I got some great pics of it! I have flown a lot of times and never ever had any trouble and had great take offs, smooth flights, and easy landings. Even with my nerves, being in the plane and flying is way less stressful and nervewracking than driving in Houston or Dallas traffic. I'm a foodie too, so I have my favorites places to snack at the airports. Like my breakfast tacos at the airport in Houston. I can't remember the name of the place though it's next to Harlan's barbecue (which isn't very good so skip it if you want real bbq, but it is okay and a different choice from McDonald's). And Starbucks coffee, I don't usually buy it although we have shops around here, but at the airport it is a treat and I will splurge on a cup. And at nearly $5 for 1 large coffee, it is a splurge. I love the caramel machiatto drink!

Hehe, thank you ! I'm scared to die in a plane crash, but I can't do anything against so....I try to reason myself (I'll be in WDW, that's the best way to outdo my fear !)

I love Starbucks ! As we don't have much starbucks in Belgium, it'll be the first treat of my holidays !

....No one knows some good place to eat at the O'Hare airport (Chicago), by the way ? :rolleyes1

KuyaJeff : yay ! Another solo-tripper in end of January ! Yay :woohoo:

Question of the day:

How are you planning to travel to Disney??

We're flying. We live in Las Vegas, so there's no way we're driving!

I'm so ready to be there already. Things have been really, really stressful, busy and hectic around here lately and it's not even the holidays yet! I'm so thankful I have this vacation booked because I really, really need it!!!

I loving having Starbucks in all of the airports. Last time I came home from over there, I was looking for coffee in the Melbourne airport, and was sooooo confised when I couldn't find a Starbucks there :p

And hi, KuyaJeff, as well - I'm one of the end-of-month soloers too :)

I think we need to go to a bar too, we the solo-diser.
I'm always here with my idea to go for a drink.....Even if it's not the same day as my dis-meet in the petal bar with Robin !

I'm so excited everyone!
I just booked us two rooms at Pop for our arrival night. Normally we stay off property that night, but with the Jan/Feb discount Pop was a few bucks cheaper. :)

What are the must trys at the Pop food court? Chicken alfredo?
They are open til 12 I think, so I will be holding out for a late dinner there.

In answer to the question how are you getting to WDW?

We are flying, its about 2 1/2 hours.

okw19 can't help, never stayed there, but i have always wanted to try
the tye-dye cheesecake.

question of the day (well night)

Where have you found the best character interaction????

It will be nice to meet you :)
Would love to meet others if they would like to join us

Where have you found the best character interaction????

I would have to say at the Character meals, because otherwise, we don't really stop to meet characters, DH doesn't like to wait in line to meet the characters.

I did have a fun experience with Goofy outside of Animation Studios one morning, wish DH could have been around to see it, it would have been even better.

Where have you found the best character interaction????

I would have to say the dance party at the Studios evening EMH - we just stumbled upon it b/c it was raining and we were looking for shelter - what a find

Where have you found the best character interaction????

For us it is at Cape May Character breakfast. This has become one of our favorite character meals due to the interaction...plus of course the food, service and the relaxed atmosphere is a plus too. Minnie and Goofy always comes by our table and really interacts with both DDs, DH and I. Goofy loves to play around with DH because DH loves to provoke him (DH loves Goofy and that is how he shows his love for him :rotfl:) while Minnie just dotes over my girls, especially my DD8 who is a HUGE fan of Minnie Mouse. There have been several times where Minnie would sit next my DD and just hug and kiss her because of this. DD10 is more into Donald therefore Donald gives her some extra attention as well. As for me, I like to just sit back and drink my coffee and watch all of the fun that is around me :goodvibes.

First of all - 2 months from today we'll be in WDW!!!! Wahoo!!!

Second - our favorite place to meet characters is any of the character dining restaurants with our favorites being Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace and the PSB - seems to hit all of our favorites with these three.

We finalized our dates last night and I have 63 days until I become a Cast Member!!!

As for best interaction, Crystal Palace, hands down!

Best Character Interaction:

It's a tie between Ohana character breakfast and Camp Minnie-Mickey at AK. There was NO ONE else there when we did the latter, and Chip and Dale had a great routine where they were trying to get food out of the snack bar vendor. Then they spent a bunch of time with my kids. They loved it!

It's official! We got a super deal on a Jet Blue flight today - it pushed us over the edge to using our APs one last time before they expire! Now to find a place to stay.
