Talk about an insane 24 hours.
We were scheduled to be leaving for Disney World on Wednesday night on a red-eye from Seattle. Lo and behold, there is a MASSIVE snow storm moving in for when? WEDNESDAY.
Both DH and I started to panic a bit because we weren't sure how we'd make it to the airport, let alone our flight even departing that night... I won't lie, I cried for a solid 15 minutes over it, just because we had no idea what to do.
After long long discussions, we came up with a "Hail Mary" type of plan - If our friends who are dog-sitting can come over a day early, DVC has a room open for us a day early, we could both get Wednesday off AND we can switch to an earlier flight... We could potentially get out of Seattle before the big snow comes in.
Somehow, some way, it all worked out. DVC was able to allow us to book our room a day early at BCV, so we don't have to even check in/check out and can stay in the same room for 11 days, our friends said yes to coming over tonight to watch our dogs while we're gone, our bosses both okay'd us taking tomorrow off, AND we were able to get onto tonight's red-eye flight to Orlando!
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole thing, but I will say that it gives us peace of mind that we are on a better flight. Now, the snow is still around right now, but it shouldn't be too awful tonight. I'm not getting my hopes up 100%, but our chances of making it to Orlando are much better than they were.
It's been a heck of a roller coaster ride but we'll hopefully be there tomorrow morning!
